1. Bit frustrating I have to drive through this village on my
tom ,   tel aviv   (09.02.13)
way to Mt.Hermon for skiing...Couldn't we please somehow "rearrange" these openly Assad-groupies, so they can be close to their Superstar?
2. I prefer transferring them all to ...
Ariel ,   Modi'in, Israel   (09.02.13)
Syria. Then they can enjoy Assad's protection first hand!!
3. Unfaithful Druze
italian   (09.02.13)
Ah, so the filthy Druze who begged Jerusalem for permitting some of those relatives to come back to Golan, support ROR. These people are unworthy of Israeli ID cards. If they love Palestinians, then address their needs to Abu Mazen.
4. Boycott that village & its produce too
VillageOfShame(Shams ,   Jerusalem Israel   (09.02.13)
These are the same people who through boulders and rocks at our soldiers backs while they were trying to keep Palestinians from breaching the border a couple of years ago It makes me sick to see young Israelis still patronizing their restaurants Build a bypass road tunnel to get around that horrible village Imagine had we given in to the world and the Israeli lefts request to give the Golan to the Syrians right down to the Sea of Galilee what would be happening now !!!
5. Enough!
Yoav ,   Kiryat Motzkin   (09.02.13)
They do not like here? Go back!! Enough is enough. And in any potential conflict they will supply the Syrians with information.
6. It wasn't Assad that kept the border quiet for 40 years
A ,   Belgium   (09.02.13)
(he's been president for only 13 years), but it is the IDF that sits on the Israeli side of the border that keeps things quiet. A very convincing deterrent, and a very UNconvincing lie by Zahad.
7. #3, its not called being unfaithful.
Ilan ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (09.02.13)
its called freedom of speech! this isn't egypt or syria! our citizens know how to protest peacefully! these Druze you speak ill of are more loyal to Israel than most Orthodox Jews! the Druze send their childern to serve in the army, to protect us! and they take it seriously, i have yet to meet a job-nick druze! 99.9 percent of them are either officers or kravi (combat soldier) take it easy!
8. They are right. With Assad we have had 40 years of calm
Yossef   (09.02.13)
why should we support the Sunni against the Shiite, or why the opposite? Druzim are right, we don't care who governs Syria if we have peace at the border. If you don't understand that you are a stupid warmonger, fighting against Israel's interests.
9. # 7-8
italian   (09.03.13)
I was referring to GOLAN DRUZE. They are a bunch of fifth column, so eager to appear faithful to Syria. They are betraying druze mentality too. They're supposed to be loyal to the State where they live. Well, the State is Israel now, not Syria. So they need to be loyal to the State who have granted protection in the last 40 years. Do you agree?
10. Islam not Human Rights Democracies
zechariah   (09.03.13)
Islamic and Arabic Nations find Human Rights Democracies much harder than the Jewish State or Developed Lands even there there isassive corruption and economic disparities and I. the Scandanavian lands Cowardice as seen in WW2.Dr mark gave up without a shot The Czechs well armed were gutless and France pathetic. This is still a Warrior World.
11. It all begins with their religion......
Calabi ,   Sydney Aust   (09.03.13)
It started as an Arab only religion same race then split into sects and embrace by the Iranian then competition to achieve total power. In that competition it manifest into gang like syndrome and ultimately to organize and lead to the destruction of Israel. And all who are not in this evil desire is caught in the cross fire!!!!!!!!!! God bless Israel
12. Let's stop the anti-Druze talkbacks
Barry ,   Boston   (09.03.13)
A few years ago there were negotiations between Israel and Syria about giving back a good portion of the Golan. Why isn't it smart for these Druze to be loyal to the Syrian government when it was possible that they could have been part of Syria if the negotiations were successful? Why is it a problem that these Druze are pro-Assad when the Israeli government hasn't spoken out clearly for one side or the other? These are just nasty remarks. Replace "Druze" with "Jew" and maybe you can get an appreciation of life in 1930's Europe for Jews.
13. good bye
Marcel ,   San Jose, Costa Rica   (09.03.13)
Send all these fools to Syria.
14. I saw syrian flags but no Israeli flags hmmm
Al Talena ,   Y-m   (09.03.13)
I saw syrian flags but no Israeli flags hmmm
15. the druze have always been loyal - to the druze!
tom ,   toronto, canada   (09.03.13)
i wouldn't blame the druze for looking out for their own interests, they have a long history of surviving as a minority in a region that hasn't been kind to minorities. (with the notable exception of israel, where non-jewish minorities, including the druze, have flourished.) even the palestinian anarchy has taken time out from attacking israel, to decimate the christians around bethlehem, for instance. in this case, while their praise of assad sounds harsh to our ears, it is very much in line with israel's interests. the choice in syria is between a totalitarian regime that has kept the (nominal) ceasefire with israel for 40 years, or an islamic fundamentalist bunch, who are pursuing "jihad" against the infidels (which ultimately includes alawites, druze, and jews). only a misguided bunch of arabists in washington would opt to support the islamists in syria, as they did in yemen, egypt, and libya.
16. I don't know who did the chemical attack
40 years of quiet   (09.03.13)
which should be punished somehow, but I do think that North Korea should be dealt with first. They have been getting away with atrocities and genocide for too many years, and I don't see the same kind of urgency toward them. Hypocritical. Is it because they have "the bomb"?
17. How naive how sad
Haim ,   TA   (09.03.13)
if they support Assad so much why dont they go move to Syris? Dont forget to bring your gas masks with you
18. #9 who is the 5th column?
(09.03.13)
The Druze are good people, so do you know why the Golan Druze say they support Assad? Leftist Israeli leaders like Peres, Yehimovitch, Barak and even Lapid always demand surrendering Golan to Assad. The Druze aren't stupid. They swear allegiance to Assad as an insurance policy against Jewish Israeli Leftists.
19. #8 and #12 - Tom and Yossef
JewishHeart ,   Israel   (09.03.13)
I actually agree with the GOLAN Druze concerning Assad and how he is better than the rebels. However, what perterbs me is the rock-throwing and helping our enemies during the Al Naqba march a couple years ago on the border of Syria.... as well as in this article them using the anti-Israel "occupation" terminology. If they aren't sure if they are loyal to Syria or Israel because of our flip-flopping over the Golan, FINE! However, keep your mouth shut and don't help our enemies. I would forgive them if they sat on the fence and were quiet. However, they are enemies in helping those who crossed the border to hurt us!
20. Islam not Human Rights Democracies

21. A , Belgium 6 .
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.03.13)
The actual Assad follows the steps of his father , so it's right to say that Assad kept the border quiet for 40 years . The IDF had not to intervene in the Golan , only once where there problems . Had one of the Assads wanted it , he could have tried to send infiltrators , send rockets , but they didn't do it , and not only out of fear . They send , and supported terror against Israel from Lebanon , not from their own border .
22. They are RIGHT to support Assad !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.03.13)
Do you prefer an Islamist power in Syria ? Assad at least keeps the border quiet , only one incident in 40 years .
23. Druze survival
Tzimmes ,   Tel Aviv   (09.03.13)
The Druze are in a tricky situation.if their village is returned to Syria they could be treated as traitors if they have shown pro Israeli tendancies. Madjal Shams is a lovely village with good people.Let us not lash out a group trying to balance their lives in uncertainty.
24. #12 Another LalaLand Assimilated Boston Jew
BostnsAsimilatedJews ,   Jerusalem Israel   (09.03.13)
