1. This reminds me of a cartoon, "Obama's looking down at
Ken ,   Burma at Peace   (09.09.13)
a little girl and says" we're going to bomb Syria because they poison children". The little girl asks, " are you going to bomb Monsanto too?
2. the problem
(09.09.13)
The problem in Syria is all thanks to Obama and his failures, including his anti-Israel obsession. In America, Obama's main supporters are American Jews whose support for Israel is a distant second to their worship of the Obama. Their current support for Obama's attack on Syria has nothing to do with Israel or American interests (best served by not attacking) and everything to do with being mindless followers of their messiah.
3. back off!!
michael ,   tel-aviv   (09.09.13)
the so call israeli lobby should back off on this one, Israel should back off on this one too... we all know that there is no concrete evidences that Assad did it! Obama administration is saying that commun sens dictact the conclusion that Assad did it but in the contrary the timing in itself was not right for him to do so among other things... so commun sens is telling us to be aware of a country that has lied so many time before (remember Irak) , this is politique at its worst !! there is no such a thing as a good war however there is sometime necessary wars, but not this one and certainly not by hidding behind false pretences and then what after Assad?, would Israel be better off with an al quaeda / fundamantalist backed governement in charge of the chimical arsenal?? BiBI once again is showing how short sighted he really is... be silent prepare for the unthinkable but do not put oil on the fire.
4. This is the war between Al-Quada-Muslim bros and Christians
(09.09.13)
What do these stupid people doing? Obama, like Bush #1 defends Al-quada-Muslim Bros, and like Clinton - Al-Quada against Serbian Christians. I predict that if Obama attacks, and works for Al-Quada, then .... Al-Quada (!!!) will attack USA. You do not come to monitor the Arab family. USA knows where the gas was located, and it could destroy it before by special forces. Now it is too late (?).
5. Let sleeping dogs lie
Moshico ,   Jerusalem   (09.09.13)
I would be very happy to see the end of Assad. This is to do with loss of life and its America who has to make the decision whether the loss of life should continue or should be stopped. This is nothing to do with Israel. But of course if America attacks Syria Israel will be in danger and brought into the war zone as well. Its best for the time being to let sleeping dogs lie, and in any case Assad is killing his own population which means less Arabs to worry about.
6. And do what?
Jonas ,   Europe   (09.09.13)
We bomb Assad, Al-Quaeda comes to reign in Syria, they establish a strong foothold for strikes on Americans and Israel. So what do we prefer? A weakened dictator whose country is turning against him, weakening him even more, and our spy networks in Damascus and all major cities and institutions, informing us on possible WMD usage or a well known terrorist network, who does not afraid to be killed, whose purpose is to bring death and destruction, funded by ALLIES of USA (Saudia, Qatar, UAE...) that will gain power and resources to produce and use chemical and possibly nuclear weapons - and we should only START to establish spy networks there, any political action will be countered by oil threat by Saudia/Qatar/UAE... Come on guys! If Turkey, Saudia, Qatar and UAE supports somebody, we should immediately be against! Even if it seems too good to be true! Quidquid id est, timeo Danaios et dona ferentes!
7. #5 and 6
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.09.13)
I absolutely agree with you on all of your points. What I cannot get over is this quote from the article. "Lobbyists also acknowledge that a US military strike could risk Israel becoming a retaliatory target of Syrian-backed Hezbollah or other groups acting on Assad's behalf. But they say that risk is smaller than the risk of letting Assad go unpunished." WHO THE HELL GAVE AIPAC THE RIGHT TO MAKE STRATEGIC LIFE AND DEATH DECISIONS FOR ISRAEL AND HER PEOPLE? AIPAC are a bunch of demented outdated and useless maniacs. I agree they worship Odunderhead like he is their messiah.
8. It's for the elected congress to decide not pro Israel lobby
Zionist forever   (09.09.13)

Albi ,   Ashkelon   (09.09.13)
Open letter to AIPAC and all the others who purport to speak for us in Israel' You are one major cause of anti-Israel hostility. Stop being Bibi's puppet. Jews do not or should not try to rule and influence the U.S. By the way--Syria is not good guys vs,. bad guys. It is becoming bad guys vs. bad guys. Striking Assad heps Al Keida. It is far too late to help the rebels.Remember when you favored getting the U.S. into Iraq qnd look what a disaster that was. Many of us here are against a strike, but I invite all you gung-ho AIPAC heroes to come here when the rockets start falling. And stop fullfilling the anti-semitic image of the Jewish people. Americans must decide for America, Not Israelis and definitely not Bibi.
11. I am a father of a front line soldier,,,They do not speak
Al   (09.09.13)
for me. Mind your own bloody business. Your sons are not facing the enemy. Mine is. Shut the hell up and stop tuchus lecking Obama. He is a disaster for Israel. You are nothing more than overpaid professional shit disturbers. No one asked you to get involved. You don't represent the Jewish people. Shut the hell up and go away.
12. At peace in Burma #1
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.09.13)
Tragically funny and true. Most Americans are poisoned by their GMO food. Despite the fact that most Americans are Zombified morons from the fluoridated water and poison food they can still think clearly enough not to want to get invovled in Syria.
13. Truth be told - it's too late to do anything.
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (09.09.13)
If any attack had to take place, it should have taken place two weeks ago. Now it is useless. As much as I also am American, I say to US - take all your warships and threats - pack up and go back with your tails between your legs. US president coward of the worst kind.
14. #3 michael "we all know"
solomon ,   bklyn   (09.09.13)
shows your wishful thinking. Speak for yourself.
15. There are better Pro-Israel groups to support than ADL/AIPAC
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.09.13)
They are wasting political capital on a cause that has no benefit for Israel and is entirely intended to benefit Obama, the most hostile and incompetent U.S. President Israel has ever faced. Supporters of these groups should consider funding groups which really help Israel instead. One outstanding group is the Israel Law Centre which stops flotillas, sues boycoters and does real good.
16. These two groups DO NOT speak for The Jewish Community
Andrew ,   Miami,FL   (09.09.13)
Just like lame JStreet and others - Abe foxman is NOT the boss of us
17. Oh dear!
Ram ,   London   (09.09.13)
What a wasted cry by Aipac et-al. Israel's name MUST NOT feature in this disastrous saga. It is NOT Israel's problem unless Israel is attacked! The EU and US have now watched Assad slaughter over 120,000 civilians in last two years and did nothing. They will also do NOTHING to help Israel!
18. Keep Out
David ,   Minneapolis, USA   (09.09.13)
There are many issues where lobbyists have a genuine interest in...well lobbying, but this is not one of them. I am an ardent Zionist but AIPAC should stay well away from this one, it does not serve Israel's interest, nor the interests of our people. It will give the anti-Semites more ammunition to use against us. Whomever runs Syria will not be friendly towards Israel, at least Assad is secular and has maintained quiet on the border for nearly 40 years. It is totally up to the Syrian people to sort this one out, unless the UN mandates action, which will never happen because we all know UN stands for Useless Nogoodniks.
19. As An Israeli, I Say STAY OUT
Yishai   (09.09.13)
Both sides are bad for us, and bad for America. Both sides will hate us- and America, either way.
20. mouthpiece
shlomo ,   usa   (09.09.13)
who qualifies the most to be the country's spokesperson than a parent of a front line soldier ?
