1. Priorities
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (09.11.13)
The Syrian people are not on the priorities of the USA... however they are obviously even lower on the priorities for any other country that isn't allied with Israel. The USA is the only one that even considered military action against Syria for any reason. All these other countries couldn't care less what Assad is doing to his own people because they don't have any sort of stake in the situation even a threatened ally. So don't just cry to the USA, cry to everyone else, including your muslim brothers who are letting you get slaughtered.
2. What kind of Fool and Idiot is this !
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (09.11.13)
Without the threats of the US against Syria for it use of Chemical Wepons,, the Syrian government would GAS the whole opposition to death. This utterance shows that it would be wery right to protect iSRAEL only, because the opposition is Hostile towards Israel. Arn.
3. well, duh!
tom ,   toronto, canada   (09.11.13)
guess who was hoping to capture the chemical weapons and turn them against israel? both sides are bloodthirsty savages, but the syrian rebels are WORSE than assad!
4. I agree with ยง3
Dov ben David ,   Eilat, Israel   (09.11.13)
The terrorists show their real face. This should be known to the world, when they try to make democracy amongst ilks!
5. the rebels are in no position to criticise
zionist forever   (09.11.13)
The rebels moan about nobody caring about the Syrian people but according to a new UN report both sides have committed war crimes and do not fear accountability. The Russian offer is of course nothing but a delaying tactic, the longer Obama avoids using military action the less legitimate its use seems to be. Assad is not going to give up his chemical weapons, they are to valuable and one of the biggest obstacles to the west calling for large scale military action ( Obama only wanted limited action ). During the time things are delayed Assad ail continue killing people and Russia will step up its efforts to deliver defense systems. If they have not given him the S-300 yet you can be sure its now on its way to make any possible attacks harder. I certainly hope the use of chemical weapons is not going to make the west rush to start arming the rebels because they are just as bad if not worse because the rebels include terrorists. They are all as bad as each other so the world needs to keep out of this civil war and let the people who live in Syria fight it our between themselves to decide their own future the west should not be trying to do the moral thing
6. exposing their true face
(09.11.13)
rebels didn't want to remove Assad's arsenal, but rather take control of it to use it themselves. that's hwy they're so mad about this deal.
7. #1 priorities
(09.11.13)
They are not Muslim Brothers. For the Sunni, Alawi and Shiites are primitive Kafir only a little better than Jews. You can liken this to 1914-1918 when Christian brothers slaughtered each other.
8. So?
(09.11.13)
Since it poses more danger to Israel than the other nations, I'm okay with it. No other nation is threatened on a daily basis like Israel.
9. Chemical weapon disposition a nighmarish task
Alan ,   Canada   (09.11.13)
According to specialists dealing with the decade long ongoing task of destroying the chemical weapons stored in the US & in Russia, doing the same in Syria is nearly impossible. Executing the task of building special plants near each of the 40+ storage locations (to avoid unsafe transportation to a central collecting point) is nealy impossible in a country torn by civil war. Having UN technicians & inspectors would only be approved if their security was garantied, not a probable proposition. Syria will likely resist any plan to allow western personel free access to any location deemed a military zone for fear of spying. The disposition of the chemical weapons might take years & require billions of dollars. Who is going to take it on under these unfavorable conditions? And at present the stage is still about dithering for the wording of a UN resolution which Russia does not want to be binding on Syria. At this rate, Obama will have to set a new Red Line!
10. make no mistake
Matt   (09.11.13)
You live and continue to fight because of America. Assad would gas every single one of you. The red line keep attacks at a low intensity, now Assad crossed that line and we are seeking a UNSC resolution to disarm. Be thankful for the air you breath and thank America.
11. # 1 You mean obama's 'priorities'?
BUILD BABY BUILD !!! ,   United States   (09.11.13)
the Saudi's prompted obama into the mix, he couldn't care less about the Syrian's but he is an ego maniac who hates to be embarrassed by his own rhetorical hyperbole and, the Saudi's are still pulling obama's strings. Let the Saudi's fight and die for Syria, it is they alone using America as their own personal army and retaliation for Iran and Syria's mass murder spree, all sides are wretched murderers.
12. Dirty deal good for Israel
Harold ,   USA   (09.11.13)
He is right. Most Syrian rebels are either Al Qaeda members or pro Al Qaeda. They tried for two decades to have their hands on WMDs and especially chemical weapons to use against Israel and pro West governments. Now after Syria's agreement to give up its W.M.D. created a very bad news for the rebels.
13. the "rebels" are proving they are not worthy of leadership
CJK   (09.11.13)
the rebels are proving to the entire world that they do not have the maturity or sensibility to lead syria. even during these horrible battles all they can think about is blaming israel. salim idris had pronounced on al jazeera that his first order of business would be to wage war against israel to capture the golan. one gets the distinct impression that all arabs have a secret death wish. salim idris is a rank amateur and his patrons should tell him to keep his mouth shut.
14. Assad
Michelle ,   Australia   (09.12.13)
I didn't believe from the begging that this poisonous gas was the work of Assad regime, I believe that it was work of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Muslim fanatics who don't care about who they kill as they believe in death religion, deliberately exploded some gas bombs to force USA to fight they battles, how convenient for them, and than blame USA for everything like they do in Afghanistan and Irak.Dirty businesses of dirty people.
