4. If it gets him to surrender his Chem weapons
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.12.13)
Fine by me.... Assad the mass murderer used chemical weapons on his own people.. Wether it is true or not, I really don't give a damn. He loses his chemical weapons and Israel does not get sucked into the conflict. WIN WIN for Israel. TO HELL WITH THE Russians, with Putin, with Assad, with Obomination, with Kerry, even with Bibi.. Leave us out of the mess...
5. irrelevant
(09.12.13)
The question is not whether or not Assad used chemical weapons. The real question is what effect would Obama's attack have. If Obama attacked just to weaken Assad, Assad's popularility would increase, the civil war will last longer and the US will be drawn into another war. If Obama attacked to get regime change (his declared goal) anti-American Jihadis would add chemical weapons to the arsenal of weapons Obama already gave them. Unlike Assad, Obama's Jihadis want to die and would be happy to use chemical weapons against civilian populations. Obama's defeat stems from supporting Ahmadinejad against the Green Revolution, Hamas and Hezbollah against Israel and lying to Putin in order to install Jihad in Libya. Obama has to admit defeat, redefine American interests, and then come up with a plan. Assad's alleged used of chemicals is really not important.
6. Assad & his brother are capable but did they do it?
zionist forever   (09.12.13)
Assad has a psychotic brother Mahar would not have hesitated to use chemical weapons although I doubt Bashar Assad himself would have ordered it because he has kept a very cool head for the past 2.5 years and he was now going on the offensive now thanks to Hezbollah. He also knew Obama was staying out of it and making chemical weapons use his only red line so why risk provoking Obama? The rebels have been wanting western intervention for years and no amount of pleading has brought it. They did know what Obamas red line was and if they believed that chemical weapons use would have brought Obama into the war and he would then bring down Assad for them then wouldn't it have been logical to use the stuff if it would get Obama involved? The locals fear the rebels just as much as they fear the troops so they are all as bad as each other. The UN has even said in a report that both government troops and rebels have committed war crimes so the rebels are not exactly good guys. They are already shouting and screaming betrayal because Russia is talking about no military action in exchange for chemical weapons The rebels cannot be trusted anymore than Assad should be.
7. intelligence
john ,   toronto   (09.12.13)
The UN should have expanded the work to say who was responsible. The intelligence agencies know who is responsible, let the men be prosecuted. But attacking a population for what a few may have done is not right and should not take place.
8. Don't forget the WMD's buried in the Bakaa Valley of Lebanon
Rivkah   (09.12.13)
the ELS Scripture codes warn about that were sent from Iraq to Lebanon so that President George Bush the Younger would seem like a fool when the media said there were no WMD's in Iraq, the pretext for war. He was right and those weapons still exist not only in Syria but in Lebanon.
9. Now watch for the incredible
DT ,   TA Israel   (09.12.13)
"whiteweash" of all guilty parties and I suspect the UN not implicating anyone.
