So while Assad and Putin play games with Obama, Assad is free to continue slaughtering his citizens with conventional weapons! Either it's wrong to kill your citizens or it's not- you can't have it both ways. You can't say that bombing, shelling, strafing, and shooting are ok, but using poison gas isn't. As the leader of the Free World, Mr. Putin must tell Assad to wipe out the Islamists with as little collateral damage to citizenry as possible. Once the Islamists are dead, then Assad can start to bring democracy to Syria. It will be messy, and maybe Assad is a war criminal, but so was his father and the world did nothing, so let him remain in power as long as he opens up the government and brings real reform to the country. Maybe Obama can learn something from Mr. Putin.

The POTUS knows that if he attacks without an OK from congress, he will be removed from office within two months (with democratic help). Congress know that if the OK an attack, they will be removed from office in2014, especially when things get worse by the day after an attack. There is zero support in the US for an attack. Kerry is just blowing smoke.
