2. Ha!
Dan ,   TLV   (09.20.13)
They found an excuse to visit some bars. Genius!
3. The Jewliban
Sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (09.20.13)
They should be called the Jewliban. Why can't those people live and let live?
4. Mea Shearim
Marcel ,   San Jose, Costa Rica   (09.20.13)
This is not Israel. Allowing ultra-orthodox women or men to go out and proselityze their lifestyle is completely sick. What is this? The Islamic Republic of Iran? These troglodytes in Mea Shearim should be content for being left alone to live their sick lifestyle in the first place.
5. Are you sure its not Jehova witness?
David ,   Montreal, Canada   (09.20.13)
6. Next year they will flagellate themselves for Moses.
Michael ,   California, USA   (09.20.13)
They really should, then walk the streets.
7. Reminds me of missionaries in England
Israeli grandma   (09.20.13)
Jewish families were bothered by Jehovas Witnesses regularly on eve of Rosh Hashana,Yom Kippur and other major festivals. We wanted to get on with our cooking, and the missionaries were very hard to get off our doorsteps. Politeness, and assurances of non interest would not move them. A firm closing of the front door was the only effective tactic. These kinds of enthusiasts are harmless nuisances. Anyway, young women frequenting nighttime bars on Jewish major festivals will not be influenced by ultra orthodox women, who are seen as weird anyway.
8. nutters!
iselin ,   Oslo, Norway   (09.20.13)
People who proselytize among their own are called "inner missionaries" in Norway. They used to be a pest and a plague, but now they have given up. I remember Chabad people accosting shoppers on the lower East side of NY city over a decade ago. They were very persistent, obnoxious. I don't know how they expect to win converts that way.
9. David #5
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (09.20.13)
If you lived here you would understand that there is mistaking Haridi women for Jehova witnesses.
10. They wanted to party too!
(09.20.13)
They wanted a piece of the party action...brilliant!
11. For sechar tirha were those do goodders

Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (09.21.13)

13. against jewdaism
jc ,   u.s.a   (09.21.13)
missionary work is against judaism!!! it belongs to christians... don't take from them...
14. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined.
(09.21.13)
15. Freedom from other peoples religion
Haim ,   TA   (09.22.13)
These women should be jailed, just goes to show they cant just keep their so called religious beliefs to themselves they have to go shoving it down other peoples throats and targetintg young people, a total discrace.
16. They were not trying to impose...
Robert ,   Antwerp Belgium   (09.22.13)
but only to remind women, from the point of view they were taught, that modesty in clothing is a virtue, not a crime. I can't say I disagree entirely, although excesses are wrong on each side. When you see the amount of bare flesh some women show in order to seduce men, I wonder wether they have so little confidence in their own qualities that it is the only way they feel they can attract men. Ok! It's their right, but the orthodox women were doing those girls a favor and certainly to their parents.
17. Robert , WRONG
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.22.13)
In every great bal women show much bare flesh . Men in smoking , women in big decollettesseduce men but to be "a la mode" . And , don't forget that here in Israel we have high temperatures . Girls and young women wear very light clothes , open . And it's not those women's business what others wear , if they want to do someone a favor , let them stay in their ghetto . Modesty as they see it is a CRIME in Israel with temperatures over 30 degres , i pity their children !
18. Robert , not their business !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.22.13)
And don't forget , the "robe don't makes the monk" . When i was young i knew two "modestly" clothed young women . One was going out in Merksem , Schoten and so . The second tried to seduce Jewish boys and even a Non Jewish boy who was also singing in our choir . Do you think that young Israeli girls always think at seduction ? They feel good with the clothes they wear , and that's the most important .
19. error in my 17
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.22.13)
after "decollettes" add "NOT to seduce..."
20. WHERE IS THE "MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS POLICE"
Jewishness ,   AMERICA THE BEAUTIUL   (09.22.13)
This insane "Modesty Police" business deserves what it gets...a punch in the nose a sharp stick in the eye and a good solid kick in the groin! (How about arrests?) If only these fanatic 8th century leeches and public responsibility avoiders would find jobs, try a little to make themselves useful to Israeli society and support themselves instead of begging, the seculars, moderates and conservatives would give them some attention. Being able bodied and non-contributing beggars in a country with 20% poverty while demanding others follow their insane rabid ritualistic superstitious NONSENSE is still a travesty of modern freedom loving Israel society. Is there no law preventing these abominable creatures from forcefully inserting themselves into and onto others private lives (in a majority declared democracy of freedom to worship sing dance and dress as one desires?) The new label...the Abominable Jew-Men and now the Abominable Jew-women!
21. Charles. Of course not their business...
robert ,   antwerp belgium   (09.23.13)
but still some girls would gain in beauty and selfrespect dressing slightly more modestly. I can guarantee that with a light modest and pretty cotton dress, they would not suffer more from the heat either
22. Robert
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.23.13)
For you it's the "package" that counts , not important for you what's inside .
23. I thought Mea Shearim women hide..
(09.24.13)
all the hairs
24. Cloth that show the more....
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (09.24.13)
the better, fail to highlight the inner beauty of our fine Jewish daughters
25. Ora , the inner beauty of our daughters
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.25.13)
is not related to their "package" . I'm judging people on what they are , their "inner" , not on what they wear .
26. What hypocrisy
moriah ,   sacramento ca.   (09.25.13)
You complaining about the Hareidi should open your mouths about the armies of proselytizing christians who are moving en masse to Israel - who have bought land- who have 24 hr cable TV- who dress like Jews and whose churches are disguised as synagogues. Wake up!
27. Moriah , armies ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.26.13)
Living in Israel , i haven't seen any of those proselyting christians . Jews can see when a TV broadcast is a non Jewish one , so they skip it .
28. Moriah , 26 . Where are those "churches" ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (09.26.13)
I , living in Israel , haven't met ANY of those "missionaries" . Jews see immediately when a TV station is christian , ans skip them .
