1. slop
Arn ,   Yehud, Israel   (10.10.13)
It seems that Ynet is determined, again and again, to throw the slop from a pigstye over our heads.
2. Judea & Samaria are part of Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.10.13)
The author spouts rubbish. Israel is not "occupying" Judea and Samaria. Judea and Samaria have belonged to Jews for more than 3,500 years and always will. Israel's ownership of Judea and Samaria is so air tight, nobody wants to debate it in public. Even the P.A., who refused MK Danny Ayalon's challenge to do so.
3. Chaim, you're so alone !
(10.10.13)
4. This is a religious, not a territorial conflict.
Jules   (10.10.13)
The Muslim world will never recognize the right of Jewish people to have a national state on the land that is considered to be a part of "Dar-el-Islam". I cannot comprehend: why the author of this article is still dreaming about peace with those who are determined to destroy the Jewish state. The whole "Project Palestine" is just another way to arrange Holocaust-2.
5. Finally
Jacob Edelman ,   New York,USA   (10.10.13)
Finally a clear, article with broad perspective and diagnosis. I was growing despaired to see how myopic the current Israeli leadership had become as it failed to distinguish between the tail and the head of the problems it has facing. I only hope that the situation changes for the better and those who prone peace in the Middle East have a final say !
6. There's no solution until Pals accept Jewish majority Israel
Sam ,   Canada   (10.10.13)
While the author and most Jews are ready to accept a Palestinian majority country most Palestinians will not accept a Jewish majority Israel. That the author and other leftists wish it were otherwise doesn't make it so except in their minds. It's not an occupation for many Jews and Jews won't relinquish parts of the Jewish homeland nor weaken their defenses just to please some dreamers.

I think there will never be an holocaust in Israel, never. neither against jews in the diaspora.
8. aviad is blind like oz, burg, olmert and livni
jerold   (10.10.13)
1) arabs want israel destroyed and anyone who thinks otherwise is blind like hitler did not want to kill jews-same thinking 2) san remo and ancient history says israel has as much right to west bank as anyone else(see san remo). if anything israel since rabin has not pushed its claims publically especially to individual arabs by satellite tv. 3) Yes bibi is blind to some degree with his 2 state and concession approach will only invites more murder. sadly, jews like aviad cannot be convinced of the truth and so they will like haber, peri, gal on, yechaimovitch, verter and levy will have to pass the scene since they will not open their eyes to the truth. What is motivating these guys are 2 things- a) dzimmitude, the absolute inability of jews to appreciate and exercise their own soveriegnty b) abhorence of violence in idf operations and arab bombings. Guysl like haber, levy and olmert cannot take the sight of broken bodies and so they rush headlong into wild israel killing concessions. here is the bottom line. if israel does not control its own security, not some stupid condo arrangement with troops from obama and shared with saudi and rotten abbas, then israel has learned nothing, zilch from the holocaust. Jews have to control their own security and the high ground, not indefensible borders..
9. Poetry?... :-)
Joy'is   (10.10.13)
" The sea is not the same sea, the Arabs are not the same Arabs, and even the Jews are not the same Jews. The State of Israel does not have only 600,000 citizens anymore; it is a regional power with more than eight million citizens and it has peace agreements with two countries it used to fight. The Palestinians are not led by al-Husseini, but by Mahmoud Abbas, and the Arab League is not calling for the annihilation of the Zionist entity, but for peace with it (people can argue over the terms of course). Things change".. Lol! -Maybe Netanyahu meant 1921 remembering the Albert Einstein Nobel Prize. After all, Einstein legacy & his theories havent change with the time,,,

What is a palestinian?
13. Jewish homeland
Avraham ,   Jerusalem   (10.10.13)
Jules (4) is right when he says that the Muslim world will never recognize egzistance of the Jewish state here of any dimension. The author of the article is one of a number of the left Israelis who like to repeat the Arab prefered word "occupation". I pose them the following questions: occupation of who's territory and which nation had the state on it? Palestinian nation?
14. Conflict is the result of the Balfour Corruption.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (10.10.13)
Britain's creation of Jordan in the land allocated for 'one only Jewish state' remains the worst Post-W.W.2 crime of all. This crime was perpetrated after 22 fictitious Islamic states were created which, unlike Israel, never existed 100 years ago. Britain is the real Judas for 30 barrels of oil. Let's not be shy of telling the truth.
15. # 10
Jules   (10.10.13)
Just imagine what would have happened if in 2009 not Netanyahu but Livni was elected the PM. The ceasefire line of 1967 is indefensible. Take into account several million fanatics surrounding Israel (yes, I mean the population of the PA and Gaza), and you've got a bloodbath guaranteed.
16. #3. Most Israelis support Judea/Samaria.
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.10.13)
That is the reason why the right wins election after election. Polls also show the vast majority of Israelis oppose the lunacy of ceding our ancestral heartland of Judea and Samaria and turning Israel into a 9 mile wide concentration camp.
17. #10 wrong on both counts, but who's counting?
(10.10.13)
18. What no one, not Netanyahu nor most of..
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (10.10.13)
...the commentators here in this field, understand is that ancient history or religion is subordinate to international law when it comes to state creation. And according to international law, THE WEST BANK IS ILLEGALLY OCCUPIED!!!! (Get it, Chaim?!?) The argument "my grandfather's grandfather's grandfather walked these hills", simply isn't good enough. My great grandmother's second cousin lived in Siberia; it doesn't automatically give Sweden sovereignty over a large part of inner Russia.
19. Dear Useful Idiot, It's not about nationalism.
SG ,   Teaneck   (10.10.13)
It's about the Muslim Arab culture and mindset.
20. For the first time in Ynet,
Jarda ,   Czech Republic   (10.10.13)
there is clearly depict the root cause of the conflict. Jewish immigration into land, where others had majority. On one side, you insist on rightness of such immigration, on the other hand, you are sending other immigrant back to their homes. What is the difference?
21. # 3 you are wrong!
Stan ,   Israel   (10.10.13)
More than 80% of those writing on Ynet support his view. The religious ones think that some "Devine force" will protect Israel against all those who wish to destroy us. (As he protected us 75 years ago?) The Macho apes beat their chests and defy anybody to challenge us. Then there are the simple minded who say - amen to all the nationalistic rantings of the Right wing politicians. This article by Aviad Kleinberg, is a good analysis of the situation and I agree with almost all he says.
22. Joyce @7&10, you can think so of course, but
leo ,   usa   (10.10.13)
you cannot guaranty this. So, please forgive me if I suggest that we all should thread on safe side.

25. #6 to Sam
Harri ,   EU   (10.10.13)
Palestinians can guarantee Jewish Israel as easily than they could guarantee Christian Canada. Both are facts on the ground by now, but nobody knows what will be the majority religion of Israel or Canada after 200 or 2000 years. If there is no two state solution, Jews will possibly be minority in Israel already by 2050. Jews will be majority in Israel as long as Israel don't occupy lands where majority of people are not Jewish. Without Jewish majority there is no Jewish state. By the way, It is insane to ask Muslims to accept any state as a Jewish or Christian state. Would Israel ever accept Turkey officially as an Islamic State?
26. What will happen to Israel if it withdraws?

27. !! PA Police Use Hitler Salute
Ovadiah ben Avraham ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (10.10.13)
"A long time has passed since al-Husseni was the leader of the Palestinian nation; the Nazis have passed from the world, and the year is 2013, not 1921." Yet the paramilitary police forces of the PA still use the Hitler salute. Netanyahu is right.
