I was recently driving between Tzfat and Tveria, taking in the scenic road which surrounds the Kinneret. This is an area with a rich Christian history and many historic sights. I noticed that every single brown tourist sign on the way indicating a Christian sight had been vandalised. The symbol for a Christian sight on such signs is a church spire topped by a crucifix and in every example the crucifix had been spray-painted over. Now, everybody knows that this is a Jewish state, but I find it repulsive that there are those who would deny that other faiths also have strong roots here. The biggest shame is that the majority of those who visit such sights are tourists and foreign pilgrims, and such bigotry is what they encounter when they elect to travel here.
