The "assault" on the U.S. Embassy in Tehran 36 years ago was an act of uncultured barbarity by an outlaw fringe religious regime stuck in the 9th century. If we had had a President with a backbone instead of a ditherer, and an Ambassador with any common sense, the first dozen "students" (Quds Force soldiers in civilian clothes...) over the Embassy wall would have been killed by the U.S. Marine Guard Force and the takeover and subsequent hostage crisis would never have occurred.

Every time a newspaper or broadcaster mentions the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, they refer to them as "elite". What's so elite about them? What have they ever done to earn the title elite?
