1. by nature missionaries are agressive
Larry ,   LA   (11.10.13)
They don't just believe in what they believe, they are out to get you to believe and convert to their beliefs. Even if they say differently, they wait for the moment to 'pounce' on the prey to convert him. They should not have had any kosher certificate. The only use it to show that they are 'accepted.'
2. Yad L'Achim are all Chabad meshichistim ironically and
R ,   Jerusalem   (11.10.13)
radical missionaries of their rebbe moshiach and their brand of Judaism. They harass christians to distinguish themselves as kosher.
3. Yaakov Rochamkin go get a real job
Haim ,   TA   (11.10.13)
Oh good grief have these people got nothing better to do with their lives? Have they consulted the Goblin king and the tooth fairy on this important issue ? Maybe they could just crucifie a few christians or burn the place down?
4. A cafe is a private place
(11.10.13)
It's not owned by the state so they can preach whatever they want and the state is forbidden to put its nose in
5. by nature Jews can't defend Tora - not even rabbis
Sage of the Age ,   Israel   (11.10.13)
There are answers, but they've been buried. Xns and Jews both to afraid to learn them.
6. They approached me in Eilat at Queen of Sheeba Hotel.
Yanky Pipchick ,   Baltimore   (11.10.13)
Rather aggressive and dont take NO for answer. They baptized a guy in the swimming pool. First I thought a guy needed help and I wanted to call Magen David Adom. They then told me what they were doing in the swimming pool.
7. By nature all religious fanatics are aggressive.
miki ,   tampa   (11.10.13)
8. So what....
(11.10.13)
" Tried to give the New Testament to a Rabbinate worker who serves as a kashrut supervisor" Not grounds for suspension. Cross-draggers are a delusional folk. They always have been. If the food is prepared correctly, it's Kosher for them, and all others who market food to Jews. If you want to get technical, Kosher food is prepared for Jews, by Jews according to the rules of the Torah. Period.
9. if this is kosher... documentary
(11.10.13)
Kashrut doesn't exist anymore. If they hire people, it's ok.
10. A quiet cuppa!
Danny ,   London England   (11.10.13)
If, as it sounds, they tried to missionize the Shomer who represents the Rabbinate, that was not a clever move! If you go into a cafe for a cup and a snack, you don't want to be approached by missionaries, or schnorers.
11. On their own web site, they admit hosting J for J events
James   (11.10.13)
Proudly. That's proof enough for me.
12. Missionaries are like juicy pimples. You need to pop em!
Shadoil79 ,   Jerusalem   (11.10.13)
13. How about a Jewish new age cafe downtown.
Jo   (11.10.13)
Giving a NT to a guy is no crime, he just says no thank you. I have been offered in downtown Jerusalem all sorts, mostly by Jews by the way, Jewish Buddhists, JWs, Scientology, humanists, ant religion groups, Christian groups, Chabad groups, yad Lachim too . To all, if I am not interested, I say no thank you. Freedom of religion and freedom to explore all , even if it is taboo. This is after all Jerusalem, the most historically religious city on the planet and so many religious people of all times.........have a little fun..
14. Redemption work
(11.11.13)
Missionary work proved good in bringing freedom and prosperity regardless of challenges.
15. Evangelization must be prohibited in Israel
Alexander Scheiner ,   Israel   (11.11.13)
Missionaries try to proselytize Jews from Ethiopia and from Russia. These missionaries are working without a permit and must leave our country. They have plenty to do in Islamic countries. rememberamalek.blogspot
16. I personally think...
Edwin ,   Canada   (11.10.13)
...a christian should not apply for a kosher certificate. Yes, it is their right to talk religion within their walls so long as they clearly let the public know what type of establishment it is. A christian outreach displaying a kosher certificate is plainly masquerading. I hate any kind of bate and switch swindles.
17. To #14; "Redemption work"
Moshe   (11.11.13)
We already have freedom and prosperity in Israel- on our terms. We left the lands of exile for this, as per G-d's will.
18. Lack answers + prohibit discussion = theological bankruptcy!
Cyberbrain ,   Israel   (11.11.13)
19. Torah has superior answers. Encourage debate!
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   www.netzarim.co.il   (11.11.13)
Muslims, atheists and other religions as well. Just because you don't know the answers... You, too, can learn. There's none so ignorant as those who refuse to learn.
20. to no. 19
Rational Thinker ,   USA   (11.11.13)
Torah's answers are no different than other religious books'. They only suffice for the well indoctrinated. The wise ones know it's best to avoid any such discussions.
21. #13 no crime - and they weren't locked up!
ahad haamoratsim ,   usa   (11.11.13)
But they lost their hechsher for sponsoring non-kosher activity. Boo hoo hoo.
22. #4, so it's private
ahad haamoratsim ,   usa   (11.11.13)
That may entitle them to do missionary work, but they are not entitled to have the Rabbinate put a hechsher on it. They may preach what they like, but why demand that the rabbis endorse it?
23. A world without Christians
USA   (11.12.13)
A world without Christians would mean no modern Israel, no tourists to Israel and nobody to defend Jewish and Israeli interests around the world.
24. What's the problem?
(11.12.13)
The entire Christian Bible both Old and New Testaments were written by Jews. Jesus Christ practiced and even taught in the 2nd Jewish Temple and the Christians follow Him.
25. Inaccurate report - it was a patron who handed the NT out
M. Cohen ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.19.13)
The report - and Yad L'Achim - are in error in blaming Cafe Forte for evangelizing. The person who handed the New Testament to the kashrut supervisor was a patron of the cafe, not a member of the cafe staff. The cafe "tries" to convert you to Christianity in the same way that a Bedouin might "try" to convert you to Islam - through nothing more than warm hospitality. Let's get our facts straight before embarking on a "crusade" against the cafe. ;)
