1. So for Heaven' sake
Mira ,   Vienna   (11.03.13)
start already the carpet bombing 2km along the Gaza border fence then!
2. "Any provocation will be met by a tough response ..."
Devorah   (11.03.13)
The tunnels themselves are a provocation! What are we waiting for? Are we waiting for more Jews to die before we do anything? Let's get off the stick and stop it NOW!
3. Livni is a bigger danger; Calling on Yechimovitz
Norbus ,   Jerusalem   (11.03.13)
Sooner that Jonah is vomited to sea the better Israel can sleep. The scheming lefty is calling on Shelly to come into the government to oppose normal zionists Shame on you Livni; You are truly dumb if you can't see Palestinians will try to destroy us. You are their tool
4. stop
daniela ,   panama   (11.03.13)
Sending building materials. If you well remember Gazans always complain the israeli blockade accusing israel, among other things, that because of lack of construction material they cannot rebuild. Now we understand very well why they need those materials. Not to improve housing, building hospitals pr schools.. just to smuggle armament and attack Israel.
5. #1 & #2 - What happens the day after?
spyguy ,   seattle   (11.03.13)
Ynet has a large number of extremely belligerent people that post some pretty irrational stuff. While it is true that Israel; has enough fire-power to kill lots of humans in Gaza, the people that post never appear to THINK about what the consequences for Israel would be for the actions they advocate. If Israel killed lots of Gazans from the air, Israel could end with huge economic problems and if IDF soldiers are used on the ground, Israel could end up with a lot of dead soldiers and civilians. I have been a soldier in more combat than I want to remember and can GUARANTEE that any attack on Gaza similar to what is advocated by the people that post on Ynet will have terrible consequences for Israel. War is NOT the answer, but is a terrible way to ensure a bad future for Israel.
6. #5 so turn your back..........
pierre ,   israel   (11.03.13)
You say:"don't do anything if somebody slaps you????" strange for a "great and veteran soldier". Everybody want to destroy us "! Why ?* We don't know why but ,they know why. So war? why not!
7. Bring terror closer to home!
michael Pielet ,   israel   (11.03.13)
So where is the response? Boogie, Carries a tiny stick, talks loudly. Bibi, shelly, and the gang want to replicate the hamas terrorist state in Gaza by creating a second arab terrorist state in Judea and Samaria aligned with the master Islamic terrorist state of Iran at the gates of Jerusalem and gush dan. Now that makes good sense. Open a forth front in Judea and samaria, make it easier for Iran to attack Israel.

Right then, A small tactical neutron device would meet your needs there soldier.
9. #5 I will tell you about the day after.
James McKinlay ,   Israel   (11.03.13)
Well mr spyguy the day after we have been dealing with since the birth of our state, we have been at war for more than 60 years as a free people. If the Gazans really wanted to end this conflict they would have done so by now. Oh and Don't worry about the future of Israel we have more noble prize winners for mathematics, literature, science, etc the world needs us more than we need them the only bad thing for us would be a left wing government or a Palestinian state and that wont happen. What keeps us going strong is we remember combat, and history, and we live by our motto Never Again. Have a nice quiet day over there in Seattle.
10. Laughable. Give PA territory while fighting Hamas.
Sam ,   Canada   (11.03.13)
Silly negotiations from the start. Livni negotiates with the PA as if Hamas doesn't exist and wants to bring in Labour to make sure she can hand over the territory to the PA as if Hamas doesn't exist. So, when the Hamas missiles start coming Livni, the US and the EU will pretend they don't exist. What's important is to get a PA signature on a piece of paper.
11. From the photo, this soldier seems
Louis ,   Australia   (11.03.13)
to have been wearing his protective goggles. Good on him. I wonder if his friend with the eye injuries was wearing his?

13. "no connection" between Gaza and negotiations?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (11.03.13)
"There is no connection between what is going on in the Gaza Strip and the negotiations with the Palestinians." Oh, really? Israel's enemies smell weakness, what with the lack of response to the almost daily attacks in the "West Bank", and the repeated capitulations to Western pressure, whether from the US or from EU states. Israel refuses even to declare its legal rights, as in its burying of the Levy Report, so afraid are they of foreign reaction. Yaalon's comment also recalls the foolishness of the early Oslo years. Then it was said Israel would fight terror as if there were no ongoing peace talks, and pursue peace as if there were no terror. In Bill Clinton's day we called this "compartmentalization". It succeeded only for so long.

You, a combat soldier and don't know what to do with a terrorist "State" that pledges the destruction of Israel? Bulls--t! Spyguy-dumbguy!
15. #8 - so you advocate nuking Israel?
spyguy ,   seattle   (11.04.13)
There is no such thing as a "small tactical neutron device." What you are actually talking about is a nuclear bomb that would kill just as many Israelis as it would Gazans. And then within days of Israel using a nuke, the Israeli economy would collapse form the economic sanctions the entire world would impose and as much as half the population would flee to their other homes outside Israel. You are a fine example of the uninformed, irrational people that post here - You are advocating suicide for Israel.
16. #9 - Another irrational response
spyguy ,   seattle   (11.04.13)
In reality, the world would do just fine if the entire state of Israel was magically transported to another planet. The world does not need Israel at all, any more than it needs any other country or any particular group of humans. Once you realize that you are insignificant in a global population of 7 billion, then you can put you future into better perspective.

18. #5 - but Israel gets slapped for much less
William ,   Israel   (11.04.13)
when a couple people are killed by the IDF, even if they are Hamas terrorists, it is called a "massacre". When the blockade continues to squeeze Hamas, it is deemed a "slow genocide" and "illegal" though the UN concluded quite the opposite. When Israel defends itself against rockets, all of which are illegal war crimes, Israel is called the "aggressor" and "targets civilians". In other words, in the minds of people like you and anti-Israel scum, anything less than rolling over and accepting suicide is unacceptable. I got news for you. Neither are we legally or morally obligated to do anything less than absolute defense of our sovereignty and security, nor are we legally or morally obligated to support the population that wishes ill on us through war crimes. Not only does Israel have enough firepower to cause real mayhem and refuse to do so, we provide fuel, power, and healthcare to a population that uses such resources to commit war crimes. That's a fact.
