31. Appeasement
Fred ,   Purchase,Ny   (11.08.13)
At this very moment the Obama regime is selling out the Jewish People and throwing Israel under under the bus. They are about to reach a so called agreement with the Iranians in which Iran gives up nothing in exchange for eased sanctions .Please Mr. Netanyahu remember our history and stand up for the Jewish people.
32. Obama is not exactly an appeaser
CJK   (11.08.13)
chamberlain did not realize that his ceding of part of czekhoslovakia would lead to a world war. obama, on the other hand, knows exactly what he is doing. he wants to allow iran to keep its nuclear weapons capabilities and hence allows iran to become a nuclear power. he wants israel very much diminished. obama hates israel, he hates jews, and he hates white people. this much should have been obvious given his attendance in wright's church for twenty years. it should also be obvious to everyone that obama has serious personality disorders which prevent him from having a functioning conscience. obama has the personality of a real dictator. he does what he wants, even violating the us constitution, to pursue a personal agenda which has little to do with us national security interests. as such, he uses anyone and everyone to advance his agenda. american jews, who helped elect this man twice, must wake up and disassociate themselves from his administration.

I don't know Ms Romano and am not familiar with her opinions except for this one piece. Perhaps you should worry less about "Israel Firsters" and more about the security of the United States of America. It is against the national. Security of the US to have an Iranian government with nuclear capability and ICBMs. Did you see them burning the American flag this week? I don't like it when they burn our flag. Have you ever seen a crowd in Israel burn a flag? No.
34. Reality
Joe Mevorah ,   Lincoln, USA   (11.08.13)
As an American-Jew I am furious at my government's attempt to throw Israel under the bus, and turn the Middle East into a nuclear zone. Everyone is scrambling due to the new realities. The Saudis fully realize that they cannot trust the U.S. and are in the process to purchase weapons from Pakistan. Their target will be two fold. Iran and Israel. Yet, this administration is still under the illusion that Iran is sincere in its attempt to disarm its weapons. No wonder we are in decline as a superpower. The world is laughing at us, and we are allowing it to happen. God bless America. WE NEED IT!
35. Shameless appeasement article
Rene peritz ,   Bainbridge Island,WA   (11.08.13)
Surely the author of the article must know that countries have core interests and national interests beyond "moral " considerations. This is as true for the USA as for Israel. Rants don't clarify issues.
36. Very entertaining article
Sarah B ,   USA/Israel   (11.08.13)
Obviously written in panic because the Jewish community in the United states has stopped worrying about Iran or the middle east. Basically because the American people are sick of losing their young men in the middle east and calls for another war would be deeply unpopular. We have lost this battle in the war, and we must keep our powder dry for when Israel comes under existential threat from the Boycott divestment and sanction campaign led by the EU.

arne ,   chicago usa   (11.08.13)
I'm trying to remember the last time Israel asked us to fight a battle for them or the last time a U.S. soldier was put at risk in defending them.I will ask you one question and that being " if you were living in Israel today, would you be concerned about Iran?" And if not , why? The only problem with Israel is that the Jews live there--If schucks like you lived there nobody wouid give a dam.

if Israel ever reaches "Isolation status" I can assure you they will get some nice and well planned revenge, and me I will die with a smile on my face knowing that people like you will have to pay one day
40. #21 SCARED ? DON'T BE A FOOL
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED OBVIOUS HOUSE   (11.08.13)
Israelis are never scared. As far as Israel being isolated ,if Israel goes down ,it will take every antisemitic bastard down with her ,do not have any doubt about that. As for being scared ,Iran needs to be very afraid because Iran is only ever one mistake away from its being totally destroyed.

What's the problem, you ask? You and your stupid comments are the problem. What cave did you come out of after a long sleep? You, and your thoughts cause the world to wonder if there is any sanity left. In a word, you're and idiot.
43. #10 Forgetful
Anshel ,   Canada   (11.08.13)
Pbviously #10 Jersey Jew forgot that thanks to the appeasement agreement with Germany in 1938, 75% of my family got wiped out in Holocaust that followed the most immoral agreement in the 20th century. Iranian diplomats may smile and show they there white teeth, but beneath is still the evil. Not one of the Iranian leaders retracted that Israel should be wiped of the map of the world. No one is suggesting to bomb Iran aat this time, all Israel is demanding that the sanctions should not be lifted until Iran completely dismantles the nuclear program and since it appears it is finally biting the Iranians, why not wait until they throw the white flag in exchange of lifting sanctions. Otherwise Jersey Jew and millions of misguided Americans will wake up like the Roosvetian democrats in 1941, when Pearl Harbor was leveled. Little bit too late and then you will be able hear Bibi's voice: "I told you so".

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor and you will have war." - Sir Winston Churchill
45. Morally disgraceful?
Jacob Edelman ,   New York,USA   (11.08.13)
Israel can not act, and should not act, as the Prima Madonna of the american political narrative. Somehow or the other Israel has come to attach to itself a picture of "larger than life" consciousness and expects everybody to buy into it. Why ? Barak Obama is the President of the United States and works for the ineterests of the United States. Why would Israel's interests trump those of the United States. Explain !
46. Yes, Obama is a nightmare and Kerry is worse

47. #21 Israel doesn't need America to do their "dirty work"
A ,   Belgium   (11.09.13)
for them, theythe US can't do their own "dirty work". Oblablas red lines were crossed in Syria, people were gassed and killed and what did Oblabla do? Nothing, except give Putin another chance to make him look like the wimp that he is. How many Americans died in Irag and Afghanistan...for nothing? How many Americans died in Somalia..for nothing? How many Americans died in Vietnam...for nothing? Israel doesn't need America and its failures, military, economical and political.
48. #20. What good has Obama done for America?
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.09.13)
By every objective criteria, America is far worse off today than when Obama was elected. What good has Obama done for America? Obama is a foe of both America and Israel. Jews who support Obama are lemmings and idiots.
49. So is Pharaoh Hussein a Shi`i or a Sunni?

Why won't the journo-shmournos deal with this crucial question?
50. Reconciliation between Arab Muslims and Jews is the Solution
Ismail ALjazaeri   (11.09.13)
I have no doubt that the Jews will never have a more secure place than among Arabs and Muslims. Reconciliation is sine qua non obligation the sooner the better. They are so close yet so far from each other. We just have to fight the 2 extremes from both sides. good relations will be mutually beneficial.
51. To David from England.
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (11.09.13)
As a Democrat and Christian, permanent friend of Israel, I think you are right about giving peace and negotiations a chance. But if Arab Palestines don't recognize and respect, verily, the Jewish State, claiming erred "rights of return", no agreement can be done. Good faith must exist from the both sides. Although conversations are important, they will be inocuous while Israel's security is endangered. Two States in Old Palestine are possible, but since 1947, Israel has accepted it. Ramallah's acts could have the same scope.
52. #44;Iranians chants Death to America"
Zipi ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.08.13)
This week millions of Iranians were chanting in the streets of Iran ' Death to America" while their leaders supposedly negating with the US. After Obama will alleviate the sanctions against Iran they will have more money to finish building their long distance nuclear Ballistic missiles that could reach the US. They do not need those for Israel . You don't need that long ones. So after they finish with Israel they will attack the US. President Roosevelt though the same way in World War II when he did not join the war against Hitler. But then Pear Harbor happened. Good luck deluding your self.

Its very very difficult to say no when you receive billions of dollars in aid every year. Aid paid for by US taxpayers that helps to keeps the Wolf from your door. First you have to say thanks....
54. Nuclear Region
Ian Derkhome ,   Oslo, Norway   (11.09.13)
I read a very interesting article on the BBC the other day, it talked of how Saudi Arabia is all set to become a nuclear armed power at a moments notice. They have long funded Pakistan's nuclear programme, and the deal being; that at their request, Pakistan will supply SA with nuclear missiles. The key trigger for this is Iran reaching capacity to have their own nukes. Once that happens, Pakistan will have it's military deploy to SA, with 10 nuclear missiles, and guard and 'jointly operate them' with the Saudis. The BBC showed photos of the fortified launch sites the Saudis have prepare; one aligned with Iran, the second site aligned with Israel. It looks like several nations in the Middle East will soon have nuclear missiles... I wonder how long before Egypt and Turkey follow suit?
55. #37. 2002, Netenyahu
Rob West ,   London, UK   (11.09.13)
I was in the US at uni when 9/11 took place, and I remember the panic and fear, and I remember Bush and his ill advised war with Iraq. I also recall watching good old Bibi Netenyahu on CNN and Fox, talking about how 'Iraq was such a great threat to the region, and how Saddam had a nuclear and bio weapons program, and how he need to be stopped. The reported asked Bibi 'why doesn't Israel do something?' and Bibi smirked, and replied 'we are only a small country. But the USA has a large army. They can do something'. I'm not saying Bibi 'made' the US go to war in Iraq, Bush and Co were hell bent on doing that anyway, but he helped, he urged the US to go to war. A war that cost $2 Trillion, bankrupt the US, 100,000 Iraqi dead, 4000 US dead. 500 UK dead, (Israeli dead 0) 12,000 US wounded, empower Iran and led to the US retreat from the Middle East. So thanks for your help Bibi, this time you're on your own!
56. poor little paranoid Israel
rm ,   NL Amsterdam   (11.08.13)
bitten of more than you can chew with Iran? Is it really worth risking US ties? Maybe you could fool Bush jr. ( his father was more clever) but you cannot fool Obama...no matter how mad it drives you. And by the way...avoiding war is a good thing....and act as if it were 1939 is a disgrace.

States." The US, led by the incompetent Oblabla and his poodle Kerry, CHOSE to get involved in something that they have no comprehension or understanding of...the Middle East. Nobody asked Kerry to stick his snoot into "peace talks" (except the "palestinians" maybe, who, by doing nothing, have earned $75 mil from the lethargic US taxpayer). The US is losing status worldwide fast, and is trying anything to to regain its lost status, even at the cost of endangering the security of another country...Israel.
59. Shameless Appeasement of Iran
Mark ,   La Canada   (11.09.13)
Obama speaking about Obama Care: If you like your medical insurance and doctors you can keep them, and that is a promise. Obama speaking to the Iranian leadership: If you like your centrifuges and mad mullahs you can keep them and that is a promise.
60. #21, #36, #55, #56 - read the article carefully
Tahl   (11.09.13)
The author is not calling for an American war on Iran. While she acknowledges that time is running out for a diplomatic solution, the crux of her article is protesting about Obama's pressure on Jewish organizations "to stall action on the Nuclear Iran Prevention Act, a vital economic sanctions bill". Again - an economic sanctions bill. That is, a diplomatic, non-belligerent means to stop Iran's nuclear ambitions.
