31. To No. 27 Life in Gaza
Susan ,   Syracuse NY   (12.03.13)
We have empathy. You should address your comments however, to Hamas. They are the people filled with hate, making their own people suffer. It is ALL about who is responsible for the situation in Gaza because there is ongoing accountability everyday. The people who control relief supplies, the people still firing missiles. They are making people suffer daily. You can't put the cart before the horse and then cry foul.
32. then vote in a new government. or stay a failed people led b
ralph   (12.03.13)
by failed leaders.

jonathan ,   aboriginaland   (12.03.13)
For goodness sake-you really don't understand the situation in Gaza.Their children are brought up to hate-they attend special summer "schools" to learn to do so.Their school books show Israel as Palestine. They get lots of money from other countries but don't spend it on the general population as they should.BUT without Israel's help and aid they could not exist. It would be ideal if we could live in peace and friendship but it's pretty hard to do so when all they want to is kill and terrorise you.Gaza is the home of terror aimed at Israel. So, you don't like the posters? You must lead a very sheltered life and can't comprehend the reality around you.I feel sorry for you.
34. Madam, you've run yourselves into that wretched corner
Cameron ,   USA   (12.03.13)
There is a baffling darkness lurking in the Arab psyche, and it's brought you to the day & night mess of Gaza. You & yours stew endlessly in your pathology like waves falling on the beach.
35. Both Egypt and Israel
Goy   (12.03.13)
It is not only Israel but Both Egypt and Israel have placed restrictions on Gaza. So the Gazans have only cursed themselves in the final analysis.
36. #27 A,
DavidR ,   USA   (12.03.13)
Anyone with the least amount of common sense know that there are suffering innocents in Gaza. However, it is the responsibility of the citizens of Gaza to elect a government that has the welfare of those people at heart. I have a deep sympathy for all of those innocents who DID NOT vote for hamass as their government. Get rid of hamass and act like a concerned neighbor and you will see a sudden turn around from the present tragic situation that is brought on by none other than your elected officials, hamass. Good luck with it but I join with Birdi and Sarah B. I have no sympathy for anyone who would vote for a terrorist rabble to govern their homeland.
37. To: No. 27
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.03.13)
Where is your sympathy for the children of Sderot? There are no "innocents" in Gaza. They are brainwashed and indoctrinated with hatred of the State of Israel and of the Jewish people from the time they are old enough to walk. It is, of course, their parents' and teachers' fault -- but ask yourself how deserving of empathy are a people who sell their children to be suicide bombers and imbue them with pathological hatred and pure worship of death and destruction? Not much empathy -- or sympathy -- at all, I'd say. Forgive me if I choose to devote the full measure of my empathy and sympathy for the shell-shocked innocent children of Sderot and environs.
38. Ynet: Post more good news like this!
Chosid ,   New Jersey   (12.03.13)
Pleasant distraction from the usual stream of negativity in your headlines.
39. Complain to Hama
A Yid ,   Tel Aviv   (12.03.13)
You elected your government, Hamas. They have chosen war. You have gotten exactly what you voted for. Don't complain to us. Complain to Hamas.
40. Refugee camp
Arturo   (12.03.13)
Interestingly, Arabs still call some of their cities "refugee" camps. (It makes "liberals" loosen their purse strings)
41. Dr al-Fara's description of life in Gaza
LCL ,   Jerusalem Israel   (12.03.13)
There is no question that the life you describe is difficult beyond words. From the babies in neonatal intensive care to the student trying to travel, to the unnamed millions who can't find food in the store or feed their families, there is enormous suffering. But you omit some important pieces of information. Tell your leaders to state that Israel has a right to exist. Stop teaching your 5 year old boys to kill us. Stop using all your means to kidnap our soldiers as bargaining chips, and hold them with no consideration of the Geneva condition. And stop sending missiles over the border. Work towards healthy coexistence. And you will have gas, water, electricity, and jobs. It is your choice.
42. Usually when someone see him/hersel as victim
ghostq   (12.03.13)
that someone is capable making the most horible crimes known to mankind, serial killers also see themselves as victims of the system and they do horible things, by crying "pity me" they just ask for green light to continue getting things while continue the violant fire arms. it is pointless.
43. An expression of hopelessness
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (12.03.13)
An expression of hopelessness a direct result of Hamas stranglehold on Gaza They would rather Gaza starve (and they have been clear about that) and perpetuate the misery and the myth of a Palestine built upon Israels destruction than find ways to reach a Peace with Israel. And its nothing to do with ideology, with principle…its all got to do with Hamas’s hold on power and control of whatever aid they receive and Tunnel Income they generate So that Mashaal can galavant round the world in the lifestyle to which he is accustomed, Haniyeh can build up his Retirement Funds and Zahar…..the less said about that mad man the better Gaza is a Prison that Hamas has built and Hamas has the Keys
44. Thank you Muna
(12.03.13)
I also don't know what to say other than thank you and I hope to hear more from you. Please keep writing and sharing your stories and letting us into your world.
45. No fuel for the public
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (12.03.13)
But lots of fuel for Hamas 'victory' parades. Just a couple of weeks ago their were driving around their rockets bragging about surviving while their leaders hid in underground bunkers below their hospitals while they fired rockets at our cities and towns. I hope you continue to reap from the problems you created. 'Refugee Camps' indeed - you created and kept them too. Your fault and your whining about it doesn't work
46. Why didn't Hamas ever complain about Egypt''s
Andi ,   Israel   (12.03.13)
blockade? Why did you have to build tunnels in the first place? We know Hamas used to take taxes on what entered through the tunnels but they could have done that if produce/petrol came in normally through the Egyptian border. We only ever heard about the Israeli (partial) blockade and not the Egyptian one. More evidence that Hamas hates Israel, more than it loves its own people, It doesn;t want justice for Palestinians, but the demise of Israel.
47. About the group Gisha which she is part of
Rod ,   Fargo N..Dakota   (12.03.13)
Her little photo on top let of this page says photo courtesy of Gisha. Put Gisha in your search engine. The group will com up on the homepage it says about on top a drop menu will appear .look at it's sponsors not so innocent.
48. The truth is..
Andi ,   Ashdod, Israel   (12.03.13)
that the situation is no doubt very difficult for ordinary Gazans. Israel started to let in cement which was then used to build tunnels in to Israel. Israel is letting in civilians for medical treatment-about 100/day including Hamas PM Haniyeh grand daughter 2 weeks ago. Israel must help Gazan civilians, but equally they and the world must know that much of the problem is self inflicted.
49. I've been in Gaza and seen things far worse
Shachar ,   Eilat   (12.03.13)
than anything described here. But they are the same sights you will see in other failed states around the world, Afghanistan, Somalia, East Timor etc. It's always convenient to blame someone else for your situation, but you will never improve your situation until you take responsibility for your own situation.
50. Thank you Dr. Muna AL-FARA
cfspirit ,   fr and dz   (12.03.13)
I thank you. Please continue to walk, to talk, to write, to live, to hope. I hope for better days in Gaza, West Bank, Jerusalem, Israel and all the workd.
51. Gaza poverty
richard sandler ,   brooklyn,NY, USA   (12.04.13)
Peace with Israel is essential...and why was Hamas voted in?
52. Cause and effect...
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.04.13)
You reap what you sew. You voted for terrorism, oppression, book banning, Islam, sharia law, HAMAS so you got exactly what you voted for. The definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over again and expecting something different to happen. According to an international survey published the the Economist, The men of Gaza are the 8th most obese in the world and the women are 3rd. You have lush prime real-estate, and your culture turned into hell on earth, you might want to change that. only you have the power to do so.
53. Not so innocent, #47, Rod from Fargo
Robert Haymond ,   Teko'a, Israel   (12.05.13)
Thanks for pointing out the word "Gisha" in the caption, Rod. Looks like I was wrong (earlier comment). There is a political element to this article but the author was clever and subtle but, nonetheless, probably much to her distress, Ynet decided to post her photo with the "Gisha" caption. So if she wants things to change, she must stop working with Israeli leftists and force change from within. In short, get rid of Hamas and all other radical elements. Get a decent government which cares about its civilian populace.
54. My Sea
Debbie ,   israel   (12.14.13)
I believe most of Ms. al-Fara's problems will be solved, as well as those of her country men and women, when Gazans elect a government with integrity, which actually cares more about its citizens, than about destroying Israel. As it is, they've put in power of their fate, a terrorist entity, which couldn't care less about them, but is only interested in seeing Israel suffer.
