Why do we act like a police state ? If justice is on our side and planning is needed for communities whats the big deal.

#1 Yossi, why is having a police presence to insure law and order at a mass demonstration mean Israel is a police state? In any and every country where large masses of people demonstrate or congregate for demonstration police are there to maintain law and order against those who try to turn a protest into a riot or a law breaking mob. That is exactly what the police did in this case. Your question is loaded and disingenous.
3. # 2 Nothing loaded or disingenous here

The cops have their own photographers on the ground and in the sky, so they should be able to photograph "what they want to photograph". The news media photographers are there to photograph a happening ie they are not taking sides but rather doing visual reporting and are independent of the cops. If they co-operate with the latter then they will be shut out by the protesters and that will be the end of independent covering. I think that some unwise official in the police force gave the order without thinking it through. I doubt that somebody from the political side gave the order.

In most if not all countries it is an offence to have evidence of a crime & not provide that evidence to the police. Not to do so renders the person responsible liable to a charge of attempting to conceal an offence. So are some now advocating that the media be exempt from parts or all of the criminal code?
