31. Beside the point
Alf Red ,   Londonistansk   (12.06.13)
I find most of the above comments besides the point. And the point is - the PM in a country like Israel must share with his people the simple hardships of life. Menahem Begin(za'l), Golda, Shamir - they lived frugally and people loved them for that. Israel has changed, now the old socialist conscience is gone and greedy selfish capitalist attitudes are in - and Netaniyahu with Sarele are real symbols of this sorowful change. People can not respect situation where PM gets a pitiful (only 5 times greater that Itzik in the street) salary, BUT spends twice more on flowers only! This is immoral and destructive for our national health - and I feel great pity that Bibi doesn't even understand this, or just wouldn't be bothered by such "unimportant" matters.
32. The PM's hard job
Alan ,   Tel-Aviv Israel   (12.06.13)
#27 "To criticize Netanyahu's is a waist of time". And believe me, it sure shows in his waist. Too much ice cream, most probably. But then any Israeli PM's job is a rocky road.

34. Just the tip of theiceberg
Jake B. ,   Modiin   (12.07.13)
Bibi's expenses is pocket change compared to so much other government waste. Anshe Keva (professional army), police and many other government workers still can retire after 20-25 years of service with a 2 percent per every year worked pension. That means a colonel earning 30,000 NIS a month can retire at age 48 with 15K NIS a month for the rest of his life! The wast is even worse for directors in many government offices like the JNF who in addition to huge pensions, get a car and a driver for the rest of their lives. Now multiply that by tens of thousands who are retired from the IDF, IBA, KKL, Jewish Agency, MoD, Police, MDA, Municipalities etc.
35. Let them eat falafel
Avi Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (12.07.13)
We keep voting for the same politicians again and again and then we point an accusing finger? So long as we can still elect our leaders, we are to blame.
36. villas
john ,   toronto   (12.07.13)
How many villas are needed for one family. There should be one official residence, the rest belongs to the country or the state and rent should be collected for such residences .Rulers will be less concerned about collecting wealth.
37. budget
john ,   toronto   (12.07.13)
Some official positions need to be cut. Then the budget that is reserved for some will also be cut. Pension for those working is needed but exorbitant sums cannot be justified.
38. #33, not mine. Posted by an Obamacare deranged zombie clone.

39. NETANYAHUS AND THEIR LUXURY LIFE
deborah bee ,   USA   (12.11.13)
speaking of puffing it up, this is about as big a puff piece as it gets. Bibi and his family are sacrificing their life, their time, their emotional lives, their personal family life, for the state of Israel. Try walking in their shoes for a week and then write this article. How would you like the burden of the entire Jewish world on your shoulders, facing Iranian nuclear capability and terror states such as Gaza and Lebanon, surrounding you. The PM is entitled to live in a manner that is appropriate for the head of one of the most politically charged countries in the world-- the fact that these people have some luxury in their lives with which to ease the burdens and also with which to entertain dignitaries and official business matter seems to fall on deaf ears by those who oppose his political policies. This is the old fox and the grapes- sheer jealousy and ignorance by those who seek to undermine the influence and power of the PM. Get rid of your mean spiritedness- and also lashon hara. ENOUGH!
40. Netanyahus lifestyle is theirs
martin s. ,   new york   (12.11.13)
Deborah bee---You are 100 per cent correct on this- this "puff piece" is about as low as it gets, in journalistic standards, b y its concentrating on the utter pettiness and banality of the netanyahu's household, when the country faces nuclear threats and terror on all sides. good job, thanks for your post and shame on the Ynet mag for posting garbage articles like this.
41. BIBI LIFESTYLE
deborah lurya ,   USSA   (12.11.13)
This article is another distraction by the left. Israel faces war on all sides, including the betrayal of the west, so why on earth do articles like this get press- it's pure narishkeit, and an ugly form of plain character assassination, of the Israel Prime Minister and his family, shame on you!
