1. One side sings songs
Sara   (12.06.13)
One side sings songs while the other side throws stones and gets violent. Imagine if the area were not under Israeli authority... if it is bad now...
2. Outrageous
Barney ,   USA   (12.06.13)
Jews singing Hanukkah songs at Kotel. Kerry thinks we are closer to peace than ever. He is either blind, delusional, or thinks the Israelis are. Muslims do not want to coexist with Jews. It is not how they think.
3. WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE

Blow the stinking eyesore up once and for all it's only a meeting place for terrorists anyways.
5. Consider this
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.06.13)
If the Arabs cannot learn to behave respectfully and appropriately (good luck with that one!) and refrain from violent outbursts at the Temple Mount (good luck with that one, too!), then the State of Israel has an affirmative duty to ban them from the Temple Mount. Permanently. Control of the area should be restored to the rightful managers -- the State of Israel and the Jewish people. The Waqf should be dissolved -- they are the ones behind all the violence, anyway. Stone-throwing, firecrackers and tear gas should be met with appropriate riot-control measures by the Israeli police. The Arabs need to learn -- forcefully, if necessary -- who is in charge. Treating their violent outbursts with kid gloves serves only to empower them and make them think they can act with impunity. Well, they cannot, and it is high time they learned.
6. If you use a holy place to stage attacks, it is not holy
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NYC   (12.06.13)
Time to treat the Muslim "holy" places as the Muslims do. If it is appropriate to throw stones and weapons from inside the Mosque then is is not a Muslim holy place and should be treated as such. Shut it down like you would any other terrorist location.
7. Thanks to Moshe Dayan,
Robert Haymond ,   Teko'a, Israel   (12.06.13)
the Temple Mount was restored to the authority of the Waqf after we defeated the Jordanian army in 1967 and took control of the Old City. It's as if we did not value what was precisely assigned to us by Hashem. Until, and if, we take back what is rightfully ours, we disrespect the enormous gift which we were given. Moshe Dayan could value no especial significance in it although he did enjoy the bounty of the antiquities which he (illicitly) gathered and sold. And he's a hero?

Bomb it, the way one would any launch site for terrorist activity. THe ugly blue thing is a blight upon Jerusalem. The Temple Mount in the Holy City is no place for a gaudy Arab eyesore. Get rid of it.
9. Let's be honest
Robert ,   Queens NY   (12.06.13)
If the Palestinian's were peacefully singing songs and the Israeli's attacked them, it would be the front page news in almost every nation.

Unfortunately, however, the traffic going absolutely the other way around, it is not considered newsworthy anywhere in the world. Then again, no one can ever really accuse Arabs of being peaceful. It might offend them.

The Arabs don't show respect for the blue thing anyway.I's filthy inside and kids play football by the entrance. They turn their bums towards it when they pray-and not towards meka-so they bullshit when they say it's they 2nd most holy place.Maybe it will sink. You never know.Bomb it anyway-it's a home for terrorists and storage for rock throwers.
12. Something Wrong With This Article
Tom ,   Diaspora Tennessee   (12.07.13)
Police had to "break through"?!?! This is the problem. We do not treat it as Israeli land. Would you have to "break through" to get to your house? Only if an "occupier" was there. Let's start calling things as they are ... the Muslims are "Occupying" Israeli land !!!
13. Who are the bullies?
Darren Ben John ,   Townsville Australia   (12.07.13)
The Palestinians throw some little rocks and hurt no-one. The thugs throw grenades and hurt 3. The silly jews sing songs. Who would want to visit Israel???
14. Dome of the rock
(12.07.13)
It is call dome of the rock after all.

The Arabs don't throw "little rocks." They hurl boulders and they use slings to cast large stones, thus increasing the velocity significantly -- enough to cause death, which has happened quite a few times. The only thugs were the violent Arabs. Stun grenades were used by law enforcement officials in a perfectly legal use of non-lethal force. I'm sorry that you find singing songs to be "silly." I'm sure you must be driven crazy by Christmas carolers. Too bad. And finally -- since you asked -- 3.5 million people visited Israel in 2012. 1.2 million people visited Australia. I trust I have addressed all the issues you raised. I have but one question: why do you frequent a news Forum belonging to an Israeli newspaper? And before so doing, don't you think you owe it to yourself to learn history? That way, you won't make such an abject fool of yourself time and again.

You are preaching to the choir, honey. But it's actually the third holiest place (chuckle). I believe Mecca and Medina have pride of place. Jerusalem, after all, was ignored by Moslems since the days of the Mamelukes, and meant nothing to them until the Jews returned to our homeland in force. Then, all of a sudden, it became important. Between 1947 and 1967, the Arabs turned East Jerusalem into an open sewer -- literally. Some love, eh?
