3. I pray Lapid eyesight is 20/20 in both eyes
Norbus ,   Jerusalem   (12.08.13)
"controlling another people is against Jewish morality'"? Sure the situation never arose in our history, so is Lapid brainwashed? Does MK Lapid appreciate how we are obliged to fight to preserve the land and life? Does he think the Palestinians are praying for our well being and that of the State of Israel? Did we survive one Holocaust, just to fall prey to another terminal one?? MK Lapid, You are past Bar Mitzvah; Time you thought like an adult
4. Bravo Yair, so correct! You'll be the next PM of Israel!!
Michael ,   California, USA   (12.08.13)
5. The Best Deal
Zechariah   (12.08.13)
Lapid is right in theory .The Barak offer of 2000 was rejected by the Arabs And .Israel can only now offer less. The Palestinians will reject it so autonomy is the best offer and the better of evils .But in Reality preventing a nuclear exchange over the decades that in itself will be an immense Challange.
6.  4 NEVER

tom ,   tel aviv   (12.08.13)
nations on the other hand cannot afford that! If us, Israelis voted that dupe into office, then I guess we deserve whatever his weak brain concots. Not very heartwarming message in this coming winter.

Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (12.08.13)
11. Lapid is correct, it IS time for a new realignment:
A ,   Belgium   (12.08.13)
Bibi out, Lapid out, Livni out, Haredim and Shas...stay out. Feiglin/Bennet/ Lieberman...Annex and Build, instead of "bowing to American requests".
12. 1Benassi, More likely "your" country will split in 50 pieces
Jake   (12.08.13)
13. Michael #4, Lapid is the least popular minister in Israel
Jake   (12.08.13)
That usually doesn't bode well for candidates for PM.
14. What a populist snake that man is
Zionist forever   (12.08.13)
He never had anything to say about immorality until Herzog started calling for a leftist coalition. Lapid lost all credibility he might have had with the left when he passed his budget and he is in a new poll the least trusted minister so he wants to get round to rebranding himself as a man the left can trust. If Lapid does join forces with Herzog try form a leftist block then he will be the big loser. The Pre election Yair Lapid who was going it give all things to all people is gone and now he is just another politician the public don't trust. Come next election with Herzog being the new kid on the block if he plays it safe its Labor who will be getting the leftist vote and the number of seats Lapid can expect will be slashed and the less seats you have less power you get. Soon Yesh Atid might follow in the footsteps of Shinui
15. It's not like anybody listens to Lapid
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (12.08.13)
He is totally ignored for a reason. The last polls show that he forces new elections he may not even be in the Knesset. He is hated by the left, center and right
16. and what happens when abbas dies & hamas takes over?
Scott ,   Ramat Gan   (12.08.13)
17. Vital for Bennett to 'stay' in coalition
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (12.08.13)
Bolting the coalition at this stage is the least sensible option for Jewish Home Party to take. There is no time for false bravado, when there is so much at stake. Being close to the seat of power doesn't mean blindly following every edict, but could help in maintaining a balanced approach to a very dangerous period of negotiation. In sailing parlance it is the equivalent of not loosening a hold on the steering wheel when being so close to treacherous rocks.
18. Lapid and Jewish morality
David ,   On this planet   (12.08.13)
First of all, are you Jewish or just by name. Lapid you are secular, you want to change everything that it is Jewish. The only thing Jewish with you is that you wear a KIPAH when have to, just like Peres, and the rest of your pretend Jewish
19. Clearly Lapid should resign and merge with Meretz
Mordechai   (12.08.13)
Clearly Yesh Atid should resign from the government and merge with Meretz and the two parties are indistinguishable from each other. Lets have a new election with Lapid running as an open Leftist, the election results should be interesting.
20. Committing suicide is also against Jewish morality.
Steve ,   Atlanta USA   (12.08.13)
21. Bennet speaks exactly to the point and does his job.
Adi ,   Zurich   (12.09.13)
Bennet speaks exactly to the point and does his job.
22. To: Benassi #1
gorgeousm ,   NJ, U.S.   (12.09.13)
Your need to hate Israel and the mere idea of safety for Jewish people is apparent. Such purpose in one's life, is so very much against what can pass as minimal decency. May you follow the recommendation of fixing your deficiencies, before you espouse more of your evil wishes for people who are in conflict..
23. Is it moral to partition Israel?OR to govern Israel Arabs?
Tracy   (12.09.13)
Advocates of partitioning Israel need to ask themselves whether partitioning the land of Israel is in itself a moral act. When Jewish land was under the government of other nations, millions of Jews were massacred both in Europe and in the Middle East.. Where is the morality of placing the survivors of those centuries of genocide in the vulnerable position of living in a nine-mile wide country with indefensible borders? Will those advocates take responsibility when Jews are massacred once again? FURTHERMORE Are they ready to defend that principle that it is wrong to govern other ethnic groups, and affirm that it is immoral to govern Arabs with Israeli citizenship? If it's immoral to govern over Arabs living in Judea and Samaria, is it moral to govern those in the north of Israel, or in the Negev? Or should Israeli Jews abandon every piece of Israeli land where Arabs dwell today - and retreat to their tiny enclave of Tel Aviv? The concept that governing other ethnic groups could be immoral HAS NO BASIS WHATSOEVER - not in politics, not in history, and most definitely, not in morality.
24. why so many did not resort to arms
arieh   (12.09.13)
It is clear to see why more jews did not grab guns and knives and stab nazis. Peri, herzog, lapid, livni, cabel want israel to give up its own security and overlook real arab goals of israeli destruction. 1000 deaths and 2000 injuries since oslo and gaza withdrawals is nothing for them. Jews continue to be an enslaved people who look for any way other than their own handle on security. Coming from security people like diskin and peri shows you how sick and fearful people are. And if israelis are dumb enough to go along withobama, who are they going to run down when rockets are fired at ben gurion blowing up a plane wiht 500 people you dumb shmuck!
25. Crap-shooter.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (12.09.13)
Lapid's foreign policy roll the dice. Result the 3.5 million arabs rule over the Jews. Destroy the Jewish state.
26. We want smaller prices. We do not want our
olim hadashim ,   tel aviv/israel   (12.09.13)
land get smaller. The finance minister seems to have a bad eyesight.
27. #15 Lapid received more votes than
On the Balcony   (12.09.13)
Bennet, and he will receive even more if remains true to the platform upon which basis his party won so many votes. It is the right wing that is howling and gnashing its teeth in fear and drustration, as your and your cohort's frenzied posts demonstrate..
28. INSANE TO EXPECT GENUINE PEACE
joyce fraser ,   USA   (12.09.13)
A completely new situation exists today. We do not live in 1956, 67, 73, or even in 2007! You should bear in mind that the main Palestinian 'negotiating parties', remain steadfast to their IMMUTABLE vows to destroy Israel in stages, after Israel becomes weaker by conceding more territory!
29. Suicide
Janice ,   Mobile usa   (12.09.13)
#20 Amen! Well said! Netanyahu has to go and Bennett needs to replace him! If Netanyahu keeps onike he is going now...Obama and Kerry, Livni, lapid etc. will have effectively created another Holocaust in Israel and forced the Jews to kill themselves. As a 70 year old Jewish woman...my heart bleeds over this leftist fiasco. I e li ed lo g enough to have seen it all. This current bunch are disasters!
30. Monkey wrench.
Jarvis ,   Joseph, USA   (12.09.13)
