31. Vegeterian
HRK   (12.10.13)
hitler , prior to WWII, was NOT vegetarian. It's around the late 30's, beginning 40's that he decided to be one
32. Humans like lions eat meat
Dan ,   K"S   (12.10.13)
Some animals eat grass and some eat meat. Some eat both. We are animals who eat both. There is nothing wrong with eating meat. There is nothing wrong and even admirable that after killing for food, to use the skin of the animal for clothing.
33. I love animals, they taste great.
John ,   NZ   (12.10.13)
34. alright, look - this needs to end
jj   (12.10.13)
people need to stop comparing people to the nazis and hitler. besides it almost exclusively being incredibly over-reactive and pretty offensive; it's just bloody lazy. come up with something else.
35. Matter of necessity vs matter of choice
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (12.10.13)
Before 100 years ago, it was almost impossible to be a vegan. Also very hard to be a vegetarian. This is because it was a matter of necessity that human beings were omnivores eating meat as a primary part of meals. We were very dependent on manual labor which needed a large amount of calories and protiens found in meat. We were not able to analyze food groups and import specific types of non meat products to make a diet that was completely without animal products. Now that the option of being vegetarian or vegan is a viable alternative to eating meat, it can be a choice you can make easily. However, it is also a choice you can make to eat meat. Just as you should respect the choice of a vegetarian or vegan for their choice of lifestyle so should they respect ours. Additionally, in the words of Bill Hicks... "I didn't rise to the top of the food chain to eat carrots."
36. 11,12 it is relevant
Moshe   (12.10.13)
The reason It is relevant that hitler was an animal lover is it demonstrates the contrary to your beliefs that a vegan is more humane than one who eats meat. I eat meat, yet I have never punched, kicked or hurt anyone in my life. Misplaced mercy can bring cruelty in its place. Be merciful to your fellow man before anything else.
37. Gary Yourofsky is the real deal
Barb Collett ,   USA   (12.10.13)
I absolutely support Gary. The continued use, abuse, exploitation, and murder of animals is a holocaust and it is pathetically accepted by the majority of society. Taking away someone's rights simply because they do not look like you, communicate like you, or are able to defend themselves... is absolutely sadistic. Regardless of species. Go vegan!
38. Gary Yourofsky
Karma ,   Bexley, U.S.   (12.10.13)
It is refreshing to see a man, who isn't afraid to speak the truth. Thank you, Mr. Yourofsky, for all you do.
39. I we wern't supposed to eat cows and chickens and pigs
OMNIVORE ,   CANNUKISTAN   (12.10.13)
then why are they so delicious?!
40. If HItler was a vegetarian, I guess Pigeons are plants
Johnny H ,   Limassol   (12.10.13)
Hitler did eat meat.. Amongst that wild game and pigeons. He was ADVISED by his doctor to cut out the meat and live on a vegetarian diet to cure his nightly sweats. That's it. And even if he was a vegetarian, does that mean that all vegetarians are Nazi's?? The statement is completely irrelevant.
41. Gary is Right
Karen Norman ,   Fort Mill   (12.11.13)
What we do to animals is the exact same as what Hitler did to the Jews. The only difference is people's attitude. We need to stop doing that to the animals just like we stopped it from being done the Jews. It seems like the Jews would be the first to recognize the similarities.
42. "Live & let live"??! Listen to yourself!
Karma ,   Bexley, U.S.   (12.11.13)
Do you not get the irony???
43. Gary Yourofsky
Christina Kirstinesg ,   Odense, Denmark   (12.11.13)
All my support to Gary. It is sad to see how reporters go to extremes because they are afraid. Vegan power
44. pitty if you cannot stand the truth...
Juergen Wothke ,   Switzerland   (12.11.13)
Hitler’s “vegetarianism” was a “legend” and a “fiction” invented by Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi Minister of Propaganda.
45. Very poor manipulation Ynet
Johnny H ,   Monagrouli, Cyprus   (12.11.13)
Amit Cotler have to be the weakest link on Ynet. His clip about Gary Yourofsky last night was an absolute disgrace. But not for Gary expressing his honest opinion about him after the interview had ended, but for setting Gary up in what could resemble to an ambush. Firstly, bad researched journalism about facts, thus spreading misinformation to the viewer. Next up the very poor editing, which clearly showed that something is missing in the interview (maybe more reasons to why Gary got so angry with him?). But most of all, for trying to make it look like it was a LIVE interview.. And then have to excuse to the viewers for his behavior after the interview ended.
46. Watch: Animal rights activist bursts at Ynet interviewer
Kirsten Kristensen ,   Denmark   (12.11.13)
So sorry to se Gary displayed in this way. Repoters are suppost to be impartial, which clearly is not the situation here! Show us the whole interview, so we can understand what made him so upset. It is clipped together to make him seem like an idiot, which he deffentely is not! Vegan forever, thanks to Gary Yourofski.
47. Too much heart, not enough brain...
No one   (12.12.13)
48. Gary was right!!
monique dee ,   miami   (12.12.13)
Shame on you people in Israel The same holocaust taking place with the animals, they torture them and kill them the same why they tortured you guys and all of a sudden slavery is ok now cause they are "only" animals??Cause you are not the victims anymore it's ok now to do it to others??? Animals feel pain like u and have families like u,they wanna live and fight for their last breath just like u people did when the Nazis tortured u why is it ok now to do it to animals???Who r u to think just because u more intelligent than animals u have the right to enslave them and torture them to death for your selfish reasons??Wake the hell up ,If someone ,u should understand it better more than anybody how wrong slavery is..I totally feel Gary's pain and anger..The reporter was very rude..Apologize for what???You people should apologize for all this suffering u cause to the animals with your daily choices..Shame on you that u been through slavery and still don't get it..Shame on u that u see this horrible short videos while Gary talk and all u can come up with is "But Hitler was veg too!" ..U should be ashamed of yourselves..
49. Ynet interviewer
BZ ,   Alameda CA   (12.12.13)
I don't know why Gary bothers trying to talk to idiots like this Ynet interviewer. Until you've seen Gary's presentation or viewed the scared animals being abused & killed so fools can eat them, you don't get to talk to Gary! I know how he feels - it frustrating to see calves ripped from their mom or pigs trying to swim out of boiling water.
50. I am asking myself how many lunatics follow
Vardina   (12.12.13)
this deranged creature world wide.Animals have to be defended by this has to be done by normal people no by those who have to bi institutionalized as they are dangerous to other people.
51. What a poor job of editing the piece
Noam ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (12.12.13)
Talk about a bad cut n paste job. Gary is indeed a hothead that has anger management issues, but that doesn't take away one bit from what he said OR what that sorry excuse for a reporter was blatantly trying to do: bait him into some good TV material. "I can just hear the producer yelling into the interviewer's ear "c'mon, no one is really interested in that animal stuff. They want to see "Crazy Gary". Poke him some more!"
52. Bravo Hitler for Animal Rights
Archie ,   Phoenix, USA   (12.12.13)
Who cares if Hitler was vegetarian? I would rather he spared the animals than humans.
53. Stop misinforming people.
Ricardo ,   Portugal   (12.12.13)
All evidence points to lack of sentience in plants, while sentience is an evidente and proven fact in animals. The few studies that suggest "plants have feelings" are not scientifically validated by peer-reviews and at least some of them are funded by questionable sponsors. Your lack of understanding of human and non-human anatomy and physiology is astounding. I won't waste my time going into detail, but look at the teeth of some herbivores, like gorillas, camels and hippopotamuses, for example, and you'll see how nonsensical your claim is. Incisors are not "designed for eating meat", and most of the more common deadly diseases that afflict humans are due to excessive proteins that they derive from animal flesh. Vegans are generally healthier. Please make some research before misinforming people.
54. No, Hitler was not a vegetarian, at all.
Ricardo ,   Portugal   (12.12.13)
How can you say it's well documented if you're actually making a false claim, proving that you have read no such documentation? Don't you worry about the hypothesis that someone who might read what you wrote actually knows that what you're saying is a lie? Please do check whatever credible resources about that topic that you may find and you will learn some facts. 9gag and tumblr or some random internet blog or comment on some social network by some equally uninformed person don't count as credible resources.
55. Gary Yourofsky's Outburst
Jane ,   U.S.A.   (12.16.13)
I fully support Yourofsky! He is on target and just because the holocaust against animals isn't looked upon as such by humans, is because they are speciesists. With all the horror humans inflict on other species, they are more like the Nazis and they are acting like them. The newsman is a sleeze who deliberately provoked Yourofsy and that was obvious. I am so glad he called a spade a spade! Who cares is Israel ever lets him in again. Everyone conveniently forgets about the non-Jews who died at the hands of the Nazis. If they feel insulted too bad. It is what it is. Hitler was a vegetarian - oh pleeeeeeeze!
56. Pending approval
Jane ,   U.S.A.   (12.16.13)
Why do you screen what is contributed on your sight? So you can prevent the truth? So, you can twist information to defame others? How dare you talk about anyone else! Sleezy.
57. While he over reacted
Thousandeye ,   Colorado   (06.18.14)
Being asked over and over about Hitler being a vegetarian is frustrating as he was not. Believing he was is falling for Nazi propaganda that has LONG been debunked and showing a true lack of checking facts.
