1. With this bill it becomes painfully obvious
paulD ,   Jerusalem   (12.15.13)
that the Left's opposition has become a danger to the survival of the Jewish people. Their knee-jerk reaction to save the evil of hate and genocide from being eliminated in Israel is a big red-light. This has nothing to do with free speech, but the right to oppose the Trojan horse Israel's enemies are supporting,
2. Bennet is really correct.
Adi ,   Zurich   (12.15.13)
Bennet is really correct.
3. WELL DONE!

5. Great. Now time to investigate and see where foreign agents
Tov meod 4 ,   Israel   (12.15.13)
like Livni are getting THEIR funding. These Israel and Jew hating moles have to be eliminated.
6. Great news!
Madeleine ,   Israel   (12.15.13)
This is a great step. It is not silencing opposition, as the lunatic left is making out; there's plenty of healthy opposition to and in the government. this is hitting those NGOs whose very activities do inordinate harm to the state and they have no place in Israeli society.
7. About time!!
Jayjay ,   Israel   (12.15.13)
Well done Shame radical leftists Ike Livni. cant see that combating virulent incitement has nothing to do with freedom of speech.
8. Bravo! About time Jewish traitors are shut up.
Sam ,   Canada   (12.15.13)
There are plenty Jews who like to make a name for themselves with non-Jews by betraying their people. If they are shut up to some extent, bravo!
9. Nice intention, bad implementation
Igor ,   Germany   (12.15.13)
Assuming the bill is as Ynetnew reports: You can't do this in a civilized country. In a civilized, democratic country, you first tax all foreign-financed NGOs and then let them apply for tax exemption, which is granted in the sole discretion of the government. :-)
10. Greed. Normal nation would ban funds from entering country.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (12.15.13)
"Total philanthropy in Israel is $5.5 billion a year, but much of that money originates from (foreign sources). We are the biggest importer of philanthropy money in the world. Ten years ago, 72% of Israel's philanthropy came from overseas. Today it's about 62%."
11. Greed. Normal nation would ban traitorous NGO's.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (12.15.13)
12. #3 Better for who?
Michael Redbourn ,   Lisbon Portugal   (12.15.13)
13. Taxing unpopular speech
Erik ,   Brooklyn   (12.15.13)
What comes next, criminalizing criticism of Israel and the IDF?! The Israeli right has more in common with neighboring Arab regimes than it would like to admit.
14. #4 This bill = Bolshevik crackdown on political dissent
(12.15.13)
15. Minister Livni is wrong here.
David Silversteen ,   Berlin, Germany   (12.15.13)
Minister of Justice Livni is wrong in this point. Her appeal against this bill is wrong, because the bill merely protects clear points, which no one who is sane, doubts. Any other than racist or anti-zionist criticism is even welcome, even still too much, as I have to say. Minister Livni, do now protect Israeli soldiers from any harm by fanatics - by neonazis. This bill is in ALL points totally correct and bans that, which is clearestly fanatic. Minister Livni is making herself quite ridiculous. This bill can't be abused in order to do any power abuse. Impossible regarding the points of the bill. Miss Livni, come down from your all too white horse okay. Toda.
16. The US already bans foreign funding similar antiUS activity
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (12.15.13)
And the US is hardly "anti-democratic". It is illegal in the US to pursue the overthrow of any state the US recognizes. It is a serious crime in the US to raise funds for terrorist organizations, and to receive funds from them. It is illegal in the US to raise funds for the dismantling of the US government, or to harm any US military member and also to receive funds from any anti-US entity for this purpose. Finally, it is illegal for US citizens to pursue a foreign policy or agreement with a foreign government that opposes the US government - its called the Logan Act, it is equivalent to treason. The US is hardly "anti-democratic" and Israel would do well to adopt these measures, not just mildly taxing hostile NGO funding that should really be banned outright. The autocrats of the Israeli Left have shown time and again they wouldn't know true democracy if it bit them in the tuchas.
17. should be 84%. to left anything democratic is undemocratic
ralph   (12.15.13)
and everything which restricts the right is democratic. the new authoritarian regime is the left.
18. 45% tax charged on anti-Semitic/anti-Israeli NGOs?
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (12.15.13)
There should be a 95-99% tax charge - strangle these traitors economically and make it IMPOSSIBLE for them to even operate financially in Israel. 45% tax? Way too soft!
19. sending this woman support and courage
Brian ,   Kfar Saba   (12.15.13)
to pioneer the struggle to save the state of Israel from those that are so blind and adamantly believe their arrogant policies will bring freedom to the Jewish nation. Fight Tzipi fight and thank you.
20. Livni & Lapid are the queen and king of populism politics
zionist forever   (12.15.13)
The only reason Livni is against this bill is because like Lapid she relies on populist policies because she has no ideology other to advance her own career at any price. She failed in both the right wing and centre left parties and so she decided this time try the tactic of being far left and compete with labor & Meretz. It cannot be right for any party to support giving charitable tax free status to an organisation that calls for a boycott of israel, encourages the arrest of soldiers or supports an armed struggle against Israel ( more like treachery ). Trouble is the left love anti Israel organisations & iin their eyes ts undemocratic not to support them. Now I just hope the leftist court don't do their usual tactic of voting it down.
21. undemocratic to allow foreign govts fund anti-Israel groups
Scott ,   Ramat Gan   (12.15.13)
Not one organization will be silenced in the least by this legislation. It simply taxes FOREIGN sources that fund anti-Israel activists. If groups like peace now have so much support among Israelis, they can raise all the money they want tax free. It would be unthinkable that Britain or France would allow foreign governments to fund anti-British or anti-French groups. This law taxes groups that advocate persecution of soldiers & groups that support incitement to violence. This was long overdue.
22. Those opposed to the bill need to look at the language
Aharon   (12.15.13)
•Advocating the boycott, divestment, or sanctioning of Israel or its citizens. •Calling for the trial of IDF soldiers in international courts. •Denying Israel’s existence as a Jewish and democratic state. •Inciting to racism. •Supporting armed struggle against the State of Israel by an enemy state or terror organization. All of the above items are all attacks on Israel and not simply a difference of opinion. They're not affront on democracy, rather they are a protection of it. When you think about it, taxing these organizations is a rather light punishment. They're lucky the members aren't arrested and locked in prison.
23. In the name of democracy Livni heads justice Repairherdamage
Martin SA   (12.15.13)
In the name of democracy Livni heads justice Repair her damage. BB forced bear her, this legal professional of the left. It is so painful to consider her disregards of our desire for normality and to frustrate our natural need to protect our country and its protector such the IDF and not only our Jewish norms. Her thinking is devoid of implementing very basic Torah structures. Her attitude to NGOs' funding and the proposed penalties is another reflection of her disregard of our will to protect our basic well being. How far removed can our justice minister be. This women seems to bent to find ways to hurt our very core sensitises. Pain and more pain. How long do we need to endure bare the disregard and insensitivity of the liberal left so intent on damaging us with so-called caring "good " laws and deterring us from raining in these NGOs’. So much damage may HKB"Hu protect us from all this mumbo jumbo.
24. Mazal Tov! Great news! The beilinists want to destroy
Frank ,   USA   (12.15.13)
Israel!
25. Tax the enemies of Jews/Israel! Tax them!
Sarah ,   USA   (12.15.13)
26. The Israeli left is out of line! Go to Somalia, leftists!
Dave ,   USA   (12.15.13)
27. Bibi humiliate the left by promising to spend tax on social
zionist forever   (12.15.13)
I wonder what Livni, Labor & Meretz would say if Bibi announced the money it gets in taxes from these organisations would be used to fund social projects. I would love to see the parties of social justice arguing we should fight against a bill that refuses to give tax exemption to a group that supports the arrest of soldiers when the tax money would be used for social projects. If Bibi announced thats how the tax raised from these groups would be spent he would humiliate the left. If they support the bill because the tax money is being spent in a way they approve then money talks louder than their political ideology. If they continue to support giving tax exemption to these groups Bibi can say the left prefer to give a tax exemption to a group that wants soldiers arrested at the expense of raising money to fund social projects. In one move Bibi could boost his own political support and destroy any credibility the left has on election day.`
28. Good bill // good result!
tiki ,   belgium   (12.15.13)
29. ...and from where
daniela ,   panama   (12.16.13)
the left has learned about democracy? North Korea? Venezuela? Russia? China? I would like to see those israeli leftists going to some communist country and act the way they do in Israel.. Well done.. good law.
30. #13, "unpopular speech"?
Dave S. ,   North Carolina, USA   (12.16.13)
You're wrong. If I said "Israeli food is lousy", that might be unpopular speech. If I said "let's blow up that building or kill such-and-such a person", that's more than unpopular, it's scary. This bill taxes scary speech, not unpopular speech.
