The following comment by MK Lapid, if he actually said it like this word for word and it has been translated properly, is wrong... "We won't give up on the holy principle that every person has right to live as they please." The whole basis of monotheistic Judaism that is encapsulated by the laws and conceptions of the universe passed down by Moses in the Sinai 3200 plus years ago, is that humans have certain boundaries of behaviour that they must remain in. This does not mean constriction, but freedom within certain parameters that facilitates a person, community or nation to flourish. Passing the Adi Kol sponsored bill in the Knesset sends the wrong message. Tacit support of same sex unions by a government, even in what seems to be a "fair" tax break policy for citizens of the state, reinforces the errant behaviour and lifestyle. It was prophesied a long time ago that a time would arise in human history when the vast majority of people would not be able to tell the difference between right and wrong. Looks like we are here now. A nation is like a ship. Unless the spiritual, physical and financial holes are plugged the leaks will eventually sink the vessel.
