31. This is nuts!!
Alan howard ,   Los Angeles , USA   (12.27.13)
I read this and was very concerned even though this seems to come from a political opponent, and not a objective view. But the guy writes that in the u.s. The GOP is over and bibi I supports only the GOP! I am a democrat that votes based on positions, I can tell you the opposite is true. Obama has proved he has no idea on foreign policy, and his health care plan has been a disaster! Yesterday a major poll came out showing the GOP leading democrats by 49% to 44%, in congressional support. Why would you publish such nonsense when the source claims he is so important but afraid to reveal his identity!!!!!!? Israel has problems, but bibi is not at fault. Why should Israel free terrorists? No country in the world does that!,,,,,
32. Chutzpah!
Olivia   (12.27.13)
Please do not vote for a President that is not at least between 55 to 62, doesnt matter how many master or phd degrees he have, And specially if he us not a native born from Israel! In 2014 be wise knesset voters, say no to europeans or gringo candidates!!! :-)
33. undisclosed official
Nachman ,   Ma'ale Adumim Israel   (12.27.13)
Which really means either a coward lacking the courage of his convictions to be identified or even the author of this piece of journalistic tripe. Either way over which Mr Netanyahu should lose any sleep. Whatever we do the mendacious enemies of Israel will find excuses to boycott us after all they have to start somewhere as they say.
34. I am interested to hear what Livni said about Gysh Pypykh.
Miron ,   USA   (12.27.13)
35. We, Jews, have been boycotted throughout our history, due to
N.L.Katz ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (12.27.13)
the fact that we are members of the 4,000 year old Hebrew/Israeli/Jewish people, and our civilization is Judaism. These days the attempt to boycott us has shifted only by name, since being anti-Jewish racist is not "politically correct". Therefore, instead, they focus on our liberal democratic and sovereign nation-state of Israel. Mr. Netanjahu doesn't conduct his affairs any differently than Mr. Rabin did. And, when Mr. Rabin presented his Contour-for-Peace in his speech to the Knesset on 5 Oct. 1995 the Arabs didn't accept it either...!!
36. NEWS FLASH
ADAM ,   CHICAGO   (12.27.13)
if you are white in the US and do not agree about any Obama policy in front of black americans you are marked as anti black. so in order for most americans of white decent they avoid open comments about what a weak mixed up ass kissing president he is and how he has managed to take america from a superpower and fulfilled his secret dream of making the us a second world power. that is why puten of russia was named the most powerful leader in the word in survey s taken over the last year the world over. so go ahead israel keep holding his coat tail and you too will be a second rate regional power
37. Excellent
Dave ,   Sao Paulo, Brazil   (12.27.13)
Israel's position in the world is rapidly deteriorating and it must take bold actions that reverse that, such as halting settlement construction in the West Bank and being more committed to a peace agreement with the Palestinians.
38. How do you stop a trainwreck?
Avramele   (12.27.13)
Israel's heroes, the country's most respected people, Israel's closest Jewish and non-Jewish supporters abroad are all sounding an alarm - the Zionist dream is being destroyed from within by messianism and the occupation of another people. Lo zu haderech! Yet only the Israeli electorate can reverse this suicidal course before it is too late. Your friends and best and brightest have spoken. Listen and act.
39. Correct in part, but the conclusion is wrong
Dan S.   (12.27.13)
If the Europeans want to launch a "Kauft nicht bei Juden" campaign against Israel, then we must focus our economic and political efforts in east Asia and perhaps even try to work an understanding with Russia, although East Asian presence must precede this so that Israel can present itself in a position of power before Russia. This would provide the economic relief and path to growth through exports which would allow Israel to fund its own next generation of military aerospace and ballistic programs. I only bring up Russia because although I distrust Putin, Russia hates the EU (Greater Germany), and this could serve us to a point. The US is adopting a policy similar to that of FDR which favors disassociation from regional affairs that do not directly concern its interests. Israel needs to think outside the box.
40. Peres Shutup
Toney ,   USA   (12.27.13)
Stupid old man. So they'll be a boycottt & they'll be expelled. Big deal.
41. And guess who that official could be?
Ephraim Shamir   (12.27.13)
42. Senior Source sounds shrill
dmitry ,   Israel   (12.27.13)
As soon as I got to the "The African-American population sees what's happening" part, I realized that the source has no clue. Probably the rest of the stuff should be dismissed as well. It's nice to read opinions, but badly founded ones from political hacks, especially anonymous ones who know nothing about America and probably little real clue on everything else, should not fill up news site.
43. obama drives the boycott, not bibi
y-man ,   budapest   (12.27.13)
44. One question for Israelis
Italian ,   Italy   (12.27.13)
I don't like people like this, who don't have the guts of speaking in the light of the sun. But, at least he explained what many think. I support Israel, but living in Europe i can see how much difficult being pro Israel has become. Here public opinion is already become pro palestinians, because of the lack of interest toward hasbara too. And the enemies of Israel are exploiting it for boycotting the same legitimation of the State. So i wonder what Israelis think. Aren't they worried of being boycotted?? Of risking of abiding to all requests, refugees included?? I would like to hear Israeli friends, regarding this. The rabid antisemite trolls or arabs are requested to abstain.
45. This official is a hero
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.27.13)
He cleary figures my deepest fears. We need a jewish State, with a jewish majority, not to be demonized and boycotted. I thought Bibi was a smart politician, but his bluntenss induced a change in my opinion. This official is a hero and shouldn't fear to reveal his name. I would surely vote him the next elections.
46. Palestinian kill Israelis but EU wants boycott!
Jim Yakamoto ,   Israel   (12.27.13)
As a center of the road Israeli and no Netanyahu supporter it should be obvious that the Palestinians will do anything to discredit Israel until they achieve their goal: the total destruction of the State of Israel. Does anyone with a modicum of intelligence really think that even a total withdrawal to the June 1967 borders will satisfy the Palestinians and the Arab World? If it would then why did 22 Arab countries declare war on Israel in 1948? The only solution for Israel is to expose the atrocities that the Palestinians commit against Israelis and their flagrant abuse of human rights of Christians and Gays. We should NOT, as hard as it seems, hold back in showing the world, the blood soaked bodies of parents and children, like the Vogels butchered by Palestinians who are now heroes! Israel's survival and the survival of the Jewish people is at stake and with Israel being so isolated, the the demise of the "Great USA Jewish Lobby", we have to go on a PR campaign that will bring home to the world the real aims of the Arabs regarding Israel. Further, being "dafka" and saying we will build more settlements, which in the end will not happen, is counter productive. A PR offensive is the only way and it must be used to bring the reality and dangers of "Death Worshiping" Islam to all even if it causes pain to the victims. We have no other choice if we want our people to survive! The world is apathetic to the slaughter in Syria and we cannot let that apathy reign when it comes to the intended slaughter of Israelis by the Arabs!
47. left wing politicians
sam ,   England   (12.27.13)
Why do bring down what these stupid left wing politicians not that am a right wing just the left of now are bad and dont know how to keep Israel together and get everything rong will you ask me what makes me say it just give a look at that stupid yair lapid he the biggest fool of all Israeli politicians never vote for a no experience person just because he speaks good (never mind it's rubbish and doesn't keep a word) means he's good politician
48. Does American multiculturalism harm Israel's interests?
David ,   Stockholm   (12.27.13)
This admission is astonishing: "The US is no longer as white as it once was[...] this causes damage to Israel". Is this why Israel was BFF with Apartheid South Africa - when it was ruled by whites - and now relations are in the tank with the black-ruled South Africa? And similarily, is this source suggesting that the US with a black president is "bad for Israel"? By the way, the black population of America has declined from 30% of the total population in 1900 to around 12% today. The non-white population increase is more or less only Asians and Hispanics. But I think it will be difficult for Israel to sell itself in America that is increasingly diverse and liberal. Israel is a country increasingly dominated by the right-wing and it is an ethnocracy. How will a non-Jewish Asian kid identify with a state that treats him as a "demographic threat"? How will a black Harvard student identify with Israel after the students sees how Israel is treating their African immigrant population? A clash of values.
49. CONFUCIUS SAYS :
CONFUCIUS ,   SAFED CHINA   (12.27.13)
Easy ,and painless , to be an armchair critic. The world looks different when you sit in the prime ministers' chair.
50. Better boycotts than freeing terrorist scum
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (12.27.13)
And better boycotts than bowing and scraping before the worthless nations.
51. and the 'official is????????
tiki ,   belgium   (12.27.13)
52. Yes, times are changing
(12.27.13)
and dinosaurs like Netanyahoo will need to change or go extinct.
53. Top Official?
Avraham ,   USA   (12.27.13)
Who is this Top Official? Why is his name a mystery? Does he really exist?
54. To #22. So when is Israel going to realize this and stand up
Shula ,   Jerusalem   (12.27.13)
for herself??? Obviously not until Bibi is replaced. He is destroying the very soul of Israel with his insane policies.
55. Anonymous source is no source for truth
Joshua ,   Milan Italy   (12.27.13)
If Israel pulled back to the 1949 Armistice lines (1967) tonight and acquiesced to all the Arab demands, you still wouldn't have peace tomorrow. The problem here is Muslim dogma. They do not recognize even a stamp-sized Jewish sovereignty. You surrender Judea and Samaria today, they will go for Haifa, Jaffa and Eilat tomorrow. There is no easy solution but to give up more land is counterproductive in the long run. In the meanwhile, make sure Muslims continue sorting out one another. This way they will have less time for Jews.
56. rubbish
eddie ,   London UK   (12.27.13)
he twisted argumentation of the "source" is quite absurd - Somehow, Bibi is responsible for Iran's weapons and missiles? Perhaps this is a Neturei karta source?
57. TO "INCOGNITO SENIOR OFFICIAL" !!!
FO ,   Belgium   (12.27.13)
Dear Senior Official, you wrote: "The Europeans must take a stance, and they want it to be a moral one. This position sides with the Palestinians - they live under occupation and Israel is the occupier". And instead of lamenting, what is your answer to that "stance"? None! And you would expect the Europeans to be more catholic than the Pope? If neither you, Senior Official, nor PM Netanyahu or any other member of the government have the guts to emphasize in full daylight Israel's legal rights in International Law, than the state is damned! Dear Senior Official, ever heard of a certain Article 80 of the UN Charter? Or is this Chinese for you? How is it possible that Eugene Rostow, the author of UNSC Resolution 242, that became the cornerstone for a diplomatic settlement in the Middle-East, invoked Article 80, to explain to the members of the Security Council, that the International Law (League of Nations) gave the Jews the IRREVOCABLE RIGHT to settle between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, including the Golan Heights, and that after an eventual withdrawal from the Sinai Desert (what indeed happened) Israel could not be requested to withdraw from any other territory, and all of you are keeping mum about this subject? Am I mistaken when claiming that PM Netanyahu never invoked Article 80, although his father was one of the initiators of this Article? Don't you think, Senior Official, that it is your duty, your sacred duty, yours and that of the whole Israeli government to fight and impose Israel's legal rights, with the goal of forcing not only the Europeans, but also the rest of the world, to change their "stance", in a moral one, first of all, towards the State of Israel?
58. Very few wants to hear the truth
Harri ,   EU   (12.27.13)
This article is telling you the truth, but most of the right wing Jews prefer to ignore it. You are so drunken of the free building lots and cheap houses that Netanyahu is selling you on West Bank that you forget that he is selling you something that is not for sale. Why don't you by London bridge from me? I would certainly make a good fortune if you are stupid enough to buy it. Someone is making that fortune by selling you homes in West Bank.
59. # 4 Mike UK Stay there the Muslim invasion is there too!
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (12.27.13)
You're safe alright in the UK. KEEP BUILDING !!!!
60. To: No. 48
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.27.13)
Are you serious? I assure you that the black Harvard student has far more in common with white Americans -- and Israelis -- than he does with an African from Sudan, Eritrea or Ethiopia.
