1. Christians
Sam ,   Singapore   (12.29.13)
Christians owe their faith to Christ Jesus a Jewish rabbi. Don't forget that fact, and act accordingly in support of the modern day nation of the Jews - Israel.
2. One simple solution
Italian pro Israel ,   Italy   (12.29.13)
People like Ghattas and Hakim, as well as Zoabi, Tibi or Sarsour can be trucked off out of Israel. Do they oppose the State? They need to leave. Any healthy country can afford a fifth column within it. And, after haredim, impose National Service to Israeli Arabs. Who are them for being exempted? Don't they like? They can move out. I hate these disgusting attitudes.
3. Italian pro Israel no 2
LION OF JUDAH ,   JUDAH THE LION   (12.29.13)
Hope more Italian come forward to be pro Israel. Jesus was a Jew and the master of the Christian faith. I do really hope that the Vatican will admit Israel belong to Jews for over 5000 years, and Jerusalem Judea & Samaria, as well as other Holy Places belong to us, as the Bible says. Not to be afraid from anyone but just from the Almighty. Bible says who bless Israel will get blessed, and whoever curse Israel will get curse.
4. Celebrate Israel's Minorities & Friends Strategically
Leon Wasser MBA, Eng ,   Toronto, Canada   (12.29.13)
Israel should seize the media, diplomatic and public relations opportunities of it's peaceful hosting of various minorities more pro-actively. Israel should take the lead in organizing Christmas and Easter celebrations in multi-cultural Nazareth where the Church of the a Annunciation, the largest in the Middle East is located. Orthodox Christmas is on Jan 7 so there is still time even this year. Invite Evangelical from around the world who support Israel and treat the like the VIP's they are. Give special access to the embattled Copts of Egypt, Armenians, Georgians, Greeks, Cypriots, Assyrian and other vulnerable Middle Eastern CHristians including those languishing in refugee camps in Lebanon and Jordan. Invite Christian Arabs if their vast Diaspora, and give them a real opportunity to support their brethren, and even families back home. Maybe Apple Computer founded by Syrian born Stephen Jobs can fund the initiative as the ultimate peace initiative.I suggest that this initiative be branded the King Solomon King Hiram (of Phoenicia) Friendship initiative. The ultimate achievement would be to have an address by the Pope in the Hometown of Jesus of Nazareth followed by An address on Jerusalem's Temple Mount and a tour through all the stops of Christ's ministries through Judea, Samaria and Galilee. I am certain he knows the Biblical name of every Jewish community of the region, and therefore can speak with clarity, authority, knowledge and charity to the validity if the Jewish claim to all of our tiny but precious homeland. Let him use Nazareth, the largest Christian and Arab Centre in Israel, as the place to declare a final end to all Anti-Israel political and economic actions if any type by Catholic Communities and Catholic nations including ar the Unites Nations and all its agencies. Make a public show of inviting the similarly embattled African Christians of the central African religious frontline, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Mali and Nigeria. We need each other's support - and we can use this as a way to resurrect the alliance of King Solomon and the Queen if Sheba that they are well aware of. Brand this project Solomon and Sheba Friendship Connection. Support public celebrations of the Baha'is who's central headquarters in in Haifa, of Druze, of Armenians,of Circasians, Greek Orthodox Christians, other minorities with State funded public events geared both to members of the local communities - but especially to their brethren abroad - and yes, the media. Establish a major academic centre for both the study of minority rights in the greater Middle East - and as clearing house and resource centre for oppressed minority activists and organizers. Forge it into the go to place for leaders and future leaders of these oppressed minorities who's oppressor are, not coincidentally our bitterest critics and enemies. Provide resources, funding and support through this new centre the 35,000,00 Kurds across the Middle East, the 25,000,00 Berbers across North Africa, the Baluchis Iran and Pakistan, the Baha'is and Zoroastrians of Iran etc. These are just a few if the steps that can be taken to reassert Israel's claim to be the Light Unto the Nations, it is a resumption of the strategy used by our greatest and most famous national leaders, King David and King Solomon. They were wise strategies back then, and doubly so today. Moreover these strategies may have incredible resonance with readers if both the Bible - and just as importantly, with honest readers of the Holy Koran.
5. what is beyond question, is....
Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (12.29.13)
that these folks were Christians who spoke Aramaic for 600 years BEFORE Arabic arrived on the scene here. Arabic-colloquialism is ===not=== the defining characteristic of the "Arab Christians"; Christianity is. Here on the Hebrew side of the River we have EVERY MORAL RIGHT to use carrots & sticks to drive a wedge between Israeli citizens and Arabic-centric nationalism
6. By God standard Christian owe to......
Calibi ,   Sydney Aust   (12.29.13)
Romans 11:18 "Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee." This article is all true and I thanks Israel and the Jews on behalf of the Christian for looking after the Christians well! Christian must be faithful to God by being loving to the Jews in and outside Israel and to bless them. Be grateful to Israel especially those living in Israel and also Christian who owe this Great Secret of God from the Jews!!! And GOD will you and your families.
7. All Israeli's must stand together..
Ivan ,   South Africa   (12.29.13)
irrespective of religious denomination, and fight to protect the State of Israel and always remember that unity is strenght..
8. Suffering?
Neal ,   Minneapolis USA   (12.29.13)
"As Muslims, as Christians, as Druze, we are as a people suffering from the government," he said. OK, so things aren't as good as they could or should be; no argument from me. But by almost any measure I've read, Israeli Arabs have more opportunity and freedom than Arabs in almost any Arab country. And they don't even have to serve in the army. Some suffering.
9. here's a way to push enlisment
(12.29.13)
make it mandatory just like it is for jews.
10. Israelis
(12.29.13)
They don’t live in Arabia so why call them Arab Christians they are Israelis; the earth is for the Lord and all nation and creed will and must serve Him.
11. Israeli gov continues to ID them as Arabs
WHYTheCHANGE??!! ,   Jerusalem Israel   (12.29.13)
In the last few years the government has changed the ID cards of "Arab" Christians from Christian to "Arab" especially angered are the Assyrian Christians ( Aramaic Speaking ) who have had this change made to their ID cards WHY??!!! Re suffering one only has to go to any Arab town and see the multi million dollar villas going up this is pure BS suffering ?!
12. #2: Trucked off? Didn't this happen to Jews in Italy?
David ,   The Galilee, Israel   (12.29.13)
This loyalty question is a very real problem. There are very few western countries, if any, that insist that citizens are loyal to the state. The Oath of Allegiance in the USA is only for New Citizens. Even the President of the USA does not swear loyalty to the USA. He swears to defend and protect the Constitution of the Unites States. When it comes to soldiers, well, a soldier must know that he can trust the soldiers next to him and the one standing behind him with his life. Here lies the problem. In the recent Bedouin demonstrations the leaders of the Bedouin community allowed it to be turned into a Pro-Palestinian riot Until then they were thought to be loyal to Israel and Bedouins serve in the IDF. Can a Jewish, Christian, Druze or Arab soldier trust a person who is pro-Palestinian and wants to see Israel destroyed? Personally, I think that citizens should be loyal to their country but a distinction must be made between "country" and government. Even our MK's swear to uphold the laws of the Knesset but not loyalty to the government or State of Israel. As we know, many Ultra-Orthodox Jews do not even recognize the State of Israel! If people hate Israel so much, the they should leave of their own free will and NOT bite the hand that feeds!
13. Christian Soldiers.
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (12.29.13)
We, true Christians, whatever being our nationality, do know that Holy Land belongs, at first, to Jewish people, whose State needs our support, in order to fight against stubborn enemies who don't accept her own existence. But the expression "at first" means that Israel in not "only Jewish". Christians, Druzes, Muslims, Atheists, etc, since they are, in fact, Israeli loyal citizens, deserve equal rights and equal duties. But if they are not, there are many other countries where they can live. God bless Israel and her democratic and humanistic principles.
14. #11 new IDs in Israel don't have any indication of ethnicity
(12.29.13)
or religion any more.

Goldenberg ,   Paris   (12.29.13)
I use to follow your talkback and enjoy them pretty much. You seems to be a friend of Israel and the Jewish people. I know very few person from Brazil who have the same feelings as you. Obrigado amigo!
16. Brilliant Talkback #4 Leon Wasser
Ozraeli ,   Australia   (12.29.13)
I think your suggestions are brilliant, & I hope you can write them in Hebrew as a response to the Hebrew Ynet story (I'm sure you can find it, assuming that you speak...). I hope someone in government sees it. In fact, I think that the best thing to do is to find the Christian & foreign "Outreach" & "Liason" sections in the Jewish Agency (they exist in various guises), & send them the suggestions-the detail is quite constructive.
17. N 15, you are welcome. Um abraço.
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (12.29.13)
18. the true christians
eric ,   haifa   (12.30.13)
you true christians, wherever you are, should promote pacifism. opposing militarism is a fundamental part of it, especially when it is as brutal as the IDF. Fort those claiming that christians aren't arab, please get enlightened. you don't need to be arab to oppose the oppressive israeli policies and refuse to go to kill other fellow arabs. furthermore, stop using this foolish discourse as a means to undermine the christian arab's identity. they became arabs over time and so they are undeniably arab. if you wanna keep looking at the past you might as well say that we were once monkeys so we shouldn't be talking as humans. or we all were once in africa so we should be speaking as africans.
