1. Yad Vashem needs attention too
Problems@YadVashem ,   Jerusalem Israel   (12.30.13)
As a tour guide who often takes groups to the Yad Vashem shrine I have several problems with it too crowded too noisy but also some of the exhibits from the old museum are missing like one of a shrine in an Austrian village of Christ on the cross with the words beneath it "Jews no wanted here" why has it been hidden ? but most important is the tiny space given to the only film showing the loading of cattle cars with Jews and their arrival at the death camps hidden in a small alcove where 90% of the visitors pass it by without a glance and the fact that the street stones they are walking on are from the Warsaw Ghetto also the Christian origins of anti Semitism at the beginning are often passed quickly by because of crowding Yad Vashem needs work and of course the part played by the Mufti of Jerusalem is almost completely played down.
2. It could be useful in Gaza.

3. To #1 - Thank you for mentioning the Mufti of Jerusalem
Tracy   (12.30.13)
and the way Israeli authorities have endeavored over the years to cover up this part of Palestinian history. I hope readers will google Mufti of Jerusalem to learn something that will really surprise them and may change their perception of the conflict forever.
4. To #1 - Part 2 - The censored video
Tracy   (12.30.13)
A non-Jewish American professor has been researching key issues related to Israel, and some time ago he produced a video explaining the role of the Mufti of Jerusalem during the Second World War. An Israeli website published an article on the subject and included the video. The strange thing is that international readers were able to watch the video, but it was censored in Israel! Some arrangement between the government and YouTube. So the interest in covering up this disturbing issue may be coming from the top.
5. This is unfortunate ...
Jon ,   UK   (12.31.13)
but why did Nazis kill Jews ?
6. its disgusting they were ever loaned to the US
zionist forever   (12.31.13)
Auschwitz is not supposed to be a museum that lends exhibits to other museums around the world its supposed to be a memorial. If the US museum wanted Auschwitz barracks then they should have built reproductions that way no need to disturb a memorial or give it back. Both sides should be condemned for this agreement.
7. "other" victims
sharpshin ,   USA   (12.31.13)
According to the Holocaust Encyclopedia of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, 960,000 Jews were killed in Auschwitz. Other victims included approximately 74,000 Poles, 21,000 Roma (Gypsies), and 15,000 Soviet prisoners of war; and 10,000-15,000 members of other nationalities (Soviet civilians, Czechs, Yugoslavs, French, Germans, and Austrians). All victims suffered horribly, All are mourned.
8. Other victims - from Arab violence
Mark   (01.01.14)
Not only in pre- and post- Independence Israel, but in many other Arab countries where Jews were a minority. There needs to be a memorial to those victims too.
