When the UN, US, EU or anyone issues a call for restraint after a provocative attack against Israel, it is obvious that it is Israel that is being asked to restrain itself from defending itself. Everyone knows that Israel could toast S. Lebanon or gaza within seconds if it wanted to. But the UN has no power over terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah or Hamas or the PA, but it knows that Israel has an "image problem" and therefore blows its hot air in that direction. Why doesn't anyone issue a "call for restraint" to Russia and Chechnia? Because they know Putin will tell them where to stuff it.

Every day I hear Mr. Ban Ki Moon condemning viollence from around the world. You must have selective hearing, as Miss Aston condemns violence too.
