$6million for 500,000 fireworks. Thats $12 a firework - you would think that for such a big order they would get a good discount. It's amazing to see all that oil money go up in smoke. I just hope the suppliers were Israeli.
4. Guys it is an amazing show.

#2 and #3. They don't have to help anybody and no it is not overpriced. There different types of fireworks and also hiring 200 people and all the technology they have to use to synchronize these 500k fireworks cost lots. They don't just pay for fireworks per unit. You are forgetting about work of people their salary living expenses and profit. Dubai isn't sustained on oil money only. It is one of the largest offshore. Many corporations keep money there. This is why of the reasons for investment. So please read some facts before commenting such a nonsense. To #1 You are right. The city is amazing but it has no soul in it. I hope it will change.

and not a penny to help their "oppressed palestinian" brothers. US, EU, Israel give money to the "palestinians" and it goes up in smoke too, but without the show.

that were employed - and paid - to produce this show. Yes, the money could have been donated to some worthy cause. However, working people need to earn money to support families. -- I'm glad that a show like this would benefit so many working families. Times are tough for workers these days. -- Hotel workers, taxi drivers, street vendors, etc. all benefit during such a show. Their families were probably glad - I would be if a family member were working due to such an event. -- I think it's better to provide jobs than to give hand-outs. Hand-outs don't last as long as a job could.

They don't have to help anybody? Dubai is a heaven for the rich Arabs to get to do whatever they can't do back at home. It has no culture, no soul and mostly makes huge profit on Iranian owner trading companies. Yeah! We should really feel good about Dubai since it is a playground for the rich Arabs. Why celebrate like that when their own brothers are getting killed in Syria? Who cares if they employed 200 illigal immigrants in Dubai for this?
