1. A lesson to Israeli leaders of Jews
Israel   (01.02.14)
Sharon's suffering for exactly 8 years from January 2006 to January 2014 for his expulsion of almost 10,000 Jews, half of whom are still suffering, is no doubt a Heavenly punishment. Will the leaders of Israel wake up and realize yesh din veyesh Dayan?
2. Let the man go already
Ethan Schwartz ,   Eilat   (01.02.14)
3. According to Rav Kaduri
Daniel ,   Modiin   (01.02.14)
After Ariel Sharon's death there will be a civil war between the Erev Rav (the Zionists) and religious Jews and then Mashich will come. By the way, it is mentioned in that the last galut of Jews will be among the Erev Rav. It seems like Rav Kaduri's prediction is being fulfilled with the compulsory draft of Yair Lapid and Bennett and the expected civil war.
4. He must have a very strong heart, but
benjy   (01.02.14)
is possible for a massive stroke patient to survive a good many years attached to machine etc. I really feel he wouldn't have wanted this, pipes and life support etc, but his family decides as he couldnt.
5. Any good he did was canceled by his donation of Jewish land
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (01.02.14)
to terrorists for no benefit whatsoever.
6. Reply # 1 that might not be the case
Haim ,   TA   (01.02.14)
Hate to break your fantasy but actually Sharon was obese and people as obese as Sharon are prime candidates for either a heart attack or a severe stroke. Thats just a doctors point of view, but maybe the tooth fairy had a part in it too?
7. #4 Benjy
Tali   (01.02.14)
It's against Jewish law to officially remove the life support even for one who's brain dead.
8. poor man his kids have kept alive to make money!
(01.02.14)
and make money they have. they should have let him go with good dignity.
9. No time for recriminations now
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (01.02.14)
Just a sad ending for a once mighty man.
10. Living Will
Jake B. ,   Cleveland, OH   (01.02.14)
In the US, someone with a living will can give exact instructions as to what to do legally and medically in case of these situations. Somehow, I can't imagine Sharon would have wanted to be kept alive in his state for eight years.
11. Will the Messiah Return ?
Mike   (01.02.14)
Some say he will return as soon as he dies.
12. Arik
Vicki ,   Kadima, Israel   (01.02.14)
I have tears running down my face. A terribly sad ending for a once Hero of our country. Go in Peace and rest x
13. Go in peace
Taxpayer ,   Hod Hasharon   (01.02.14)
It was not the prayers of the draft-dodgers that saved Israel in 1973, it was the genius of a hero of Israel - A man who dedicated his life to our people - a man who was the last great Prime Minister - the man with the self-confidence and the courage to make war and to make peace Go in peace, and rest with your beloved Lily for all eternity.
14. Tell it like it is and was.
michael Pielet ,   israel   (01.02.14)
Fighting for what life. The man has not had a life since his last stroke. The doctors that operated on him violated their oath, "in no way do more harm". This is a example of the negligence and arrogance of modern medicine. Ariel Sharon, unit 101, General, probably the greatest Jewish military tactician since Judah Maccabbee. As a Prime Minister, his weak, inept efforts to fight terror, the Gaza withdrawal, the economic recession made him the absolute worst Prime Minister, ever. Up their with his successor Olmert.
15. Too bad...
Hezbollah ,   Lebanon   (01.02.14)
We wanted to be the ones to get him...
16. I hope he departs soon...
Avi ,   Israel   (01.02.14)
He is costing the state too much money...One less idiot like him is in Israel's favor. Don't get me wrong, it is a matter of dollars and cents...
17. Give Arik Sharon 4 ounces of nanopaticlized silver solution
Rivkah   (01.02.14)
stat and then one teaspoonful twice daily in his food tube. DO IT! There is no reason for him to have an infection if that is done. Silver is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-parasitic, anti-mold and he should be on it. Even the US military has gone to using silver for wounds since it is more effective than anti-biotics. Is someone planning to execute Sharon? This should be stopped since Arik Sharon is a protection for the nation from HaShem's love for him.
18. 8 & 9: The Sharon family pays half his medical costs, so
Rivkah   (01.02.14)
their love for him in keeping him alive is not to make money. It is costing them money but the protection for Israel from HaShem's love for Arik Sharon is well worth the investment, not to mention the the love they feel from him, his charisma and magnetism. 9 Noodles: The day of one's death is better than the day of one's birth according to the Holy Scriptures. It is not a sad ending to face the final enemy which is death for those in HaShem's family. It is glorious and a victory of great magnitude.
19. turn for the worse
Yaacov ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.02.14)
turn for the worsT
20. #7 Tali
Israeli ,   In Israel   (01.02.14)
Which Jewish laws? Israel is not ruled by jewish laws
21. Millitary man should had never be PM
(01.02.14)
The good were Begin, Ben Gurion, Shamir, Golda. The very bad: Rabin, Barak. Running the country is not the same as running fast one km.
22. Let the great man go.
David ,   Hartford USA   (01.02.14)
A true hero for his war exploits, a true dreamer of peace for his Gaza actions, even though they didn't work out. How could he know for sure that the Arabs couldn't be trusted? As his death draws near, we should all remember what Gaza PROVED: that the Arabs don't want peace, they want the land of Israel to revert to the dar al-Islam, the House of Islam. The fact that Sharon is passing this week, while Kerry is in town, has great meaning: beware making bad deals with treacherous 'peace-partners.'
23. to #1 and #5
Mohammad ,   State of Palestine   (01.02.14)
if this is the punishment of Sharon for evacuating few occupation settlers from land dosnt belong to them. i wonder what will be god's punishment for those who committed ethnic cleansing against Palestinians, evacuating them from their lands and homes. of course many extremists will replay "We are the chosens, god gave us this land!!!. if you really true believer of your god. how can you think that your creator can be unjust to favor one human over another!!! the answer simply is that "you favor your self over others using gods name".
24. Tali I am Jewish, but would not want
benjy   (01.02.14)
to see my loved one in this condition, law or no law.......and btw, people can decide when the illness is terminal and no hope to allow a person to pass peacefully...not to sounf callous but basically pull the plug.
25. Give Sharon the respect he deserves
Ben S ,   Free World   (01.02.14)
Yes he may have made mistakes as do we all. I for one did not agree with giving up Gaza and getting missiles on civilians in return. However, the man was a Jewish warrior. May he always be remembered as a brave soldier, leader and war hero. May he dwell in the house of God forever.
26. #24 Maybe it's worthwhile to start learning
Nat   (01.02.14)
According to Torah the body of a person enwraps the soul and has to be well guarded and watched over. We may not take our lives (suicide) and of course not the lives of others. Suffering in this world alleviates the tremendous amount of pain and suffering the soul which lives on forever would get after the person dies.
27. time to let go
rm ,   NL Amsterdam   (01.02.14)
A hero to some, a danger to others....no question about this being a remarkable man. But he's been in a coma for years...and he's really old. It's time to let him die with some dignity
28. Sharon, "my hero"
arne ,   chicago usa   (01.02.14)
His picture hangs in my office. He was and still is a hero to the Jewish People--May G-d set a plate for him.
29. Sharon
Al ,   Washington, USA   (01.03.14)
He is getting what he deserves, retribution comes in different forms. This Thug is responsible for the slaughter of thousands of unarmed Palestinian women and children in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps.
30. dont judge sharon on Gaza alone he was also a soldier
zionist forever   (01.03.14)
The best thing for Sharon right now is for him to die, better he die now than be kept alive artificially for another 10-20 years knowing he will never make any real recovery. Best to let him die with dignity now and be remembered as one of the best wartime generals the IDF was ever fortunate enough to have and as the PM who made Arafat insignificant in the eyes of the world. Gaza was a gamble, if it had gone right there would be quiet on the Gaza front and less international pressure on bigger issues like settlement, Judea & Samaria and Jerusalem. In politics everything is a gamble in this case it failed but Sharon should not be remembered for Gaza alone.
