32. Speaking of crazy solutions...
(01.04.14)
how about Israel becoming a 51st state of the United States? Many Israelis have American citizenship and US is so closely entwined with Israel. Will it solve anything? Of course not - that's why I'm posting this under this article.
33. To No. 13

The fact that you think it is 'an insightful piece' speaks volumes about the shallowness of your own position. Rather than rehearse all the previous tit-for-tat stuff, I'll just refer to your question 'What country issues passports to non-citizens?'. The UK issues different kinds of passports, not all of which confer settlement rights in the UK - for example, a passport issued to a 'British Overseas Citizen'.
34. "Palestinians" belong in Jordan.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.04.14)
"Palestinian" poseurs have no national rights in Judea, Samaria or any part of Israel.

and with it Israel's chance to have assisted the Palestinians in recovering the land they lived upon which Britain gave the Hashemite/s. A momentous error in hind sight.... Today, as in 1970, Jordan neither wants or will accept the terrorism and internal disorder that would come from a repeat attempt to impose sovereignty over Palestinians. It is up to the Palestinians to make such a choice. it is also worth noting that the international community refused to recognize Jordan's claims to territory on the west side of the Jordan river notwithstanding the fact that, unlike Israel, Jordan gave West Bank residents full citizenship rights. So why do we act surprised when Israel's claims over the occupied territory are similarly denied?
36. #16 Indeed King Hussein couldn't wait to disengage

from Judea and Samaria and drop the whole bag of "palestinian" sh*t in Israel's lap to contend with. But not before he himslef had around 10,000 of them killed. Watch and learn, Israel, how other arabs deal with unruly "palestinians"!
37. Jordan=Eastern "Palestine"=77% of "The Palestine Mandate"

38. Jordan is Palestine
Abe Bird ,   Brussles   (01.04.14)
The talken “West Bank” of Jordan Kingdom, is part of the Western land of Israel which the Jordanians invaded and occupied in 1948 war and illegally annexed in 1951. The genuine and real “West Bank” is the “West Bank of the land of Israel”, all the land between the River and the Sea, while the “East Bank of the land of Israel” is Transjordan, the area including the heights of Moav and Gilad. This part was torn away from the land of Israel, which is called by its invaders and occupiers “Palestine”, and handed to some Saudi Hashemite tribe colonialist family’s prince in 1922. As for now the only valid solution is 2 states for Jews and Arabs. The Jewish state of Israel will be bordered between the Jordan River and the Sea shore; while the Arab state will be between Jordan River and the desert. All Arabs living in Israel will be Israeli residents and Palestinian citizens. Arab will vote for their Parliament in Amman and Jews will vote to their Knesset in Jerusalem.
39. Foundation of Jordan
Joseph ,   London England   (01.05.14)
When Churchill gave 77% of Mandatory Palestine to create the Arab KIngdom of Jordan on the East Bank, it was on condition that the Jordanian KIng recognise a Jewish homeland on the West Bank. The original king was willing to work with Britain and the Jews, but he was assassinated on the Temple Mount, and his son Hussein ascendd the throne, survived assassination attempts, and his son Abdullah is now King of Jordan. West Bank Arabs should be Jordanian and West Bank Jews should be Israeli. Jordan and Israel should co-ordinate governing powers on the West Bank.

west bank, who in their right mind would settle for less? But I do think Jordan needs to be part of the solution and creative thinking is always welcome.
41. #25 Jordan 's creation is as legal as Israel's.
On the Balcony   (01.07.14)
But seriously, how is Britain's decision to create Jordan any different from its decision to create a Jewish Homeland on territory it did not own and contrary to the will of its residents? Seriously.... Might I also suggest that you actually read the pithy Balfour Declaration, especially the little caveat protecting the rights of the resident Arab population. One of those rights is the right to self-determination which trumps any treaties or agreements that would abridge it. Get serious. Such posts are an embarrassment.
