1. This was a genious move of Liberman!
Mira ,   Vienna   (01.07.14)
It brought to open daylight the hypocrisy of the Israeli Arabs (including MK Bibi), they bash Israel all the time, but would always prefer the Israeli h ell to the Arab paradise!
2. landwaps
albert snow ,   sweden   (01.07.14)
Palestinians who protest to the landswap should not worry. It´s not about having anybody move from anybodys homes. It´s about changing borders. That´s been done uncountably times before in history. And will not lead to any unconveniances as long as the palestinians don´t act hostile against Israel.
3. They have a point
Logic ,   Israel   (01.07.14)
I agree with them. The State should not whimsically remove citizenship even under a so-called peace deal, even if borders are changed and even if it is legally permitted. But as the situation solidifies, these Israelis need to follow Jabrin's example.
4. Jabar Jabrin has it right
Shalom ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.07.14)
Those Arabs who choose to do national service have every right to maintain their Israeli citizenship, the same right as Jewish citizens. If there is a land swap and they want to stay in Israel, then the state should give them as much assistance as it gives to Jews who have to be resettled. But those who refuse to do national service should stay put and exchange their Israeli citizenship for Palestinian citizenship.
5. This is news?
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (01.07.14)
The exact same reaction came when Ehud Barak suggested the same thing in 2000. Why would any Israeli Arab want to live under a Palestinian government? Even Ahmad Tibi doesn't want to...
6. It`s about the cake.
Nora Tel Aviv   (01.07.14)
Israeli Arabs are so happy ilving in Israel that they will never accept a Palestinian citizenship. They prefer the "cake" .
7. Sad state of Palestinian society
Shachar ,   Eilat   (01.07.14)
In 1948 tens of thousands of Jews gave up their homes for the chance to build a homeland in Israel. Times were hard and dangerous but still they came. These Palestinians have the chance to be part of the building of their homeland without moving and still they reject it. The Palestinians have no belief or trust in themselves. How can you have an independant state if you're prepared to build it and live in it!
8. No one is moving them from their houses and lands!
I'm with Lieberman   (01.07.14)
What Lieberman proposed is the dream of most Jews in Israel. Israel was built by the Jews in order to be the home of the Jews. THe Aras who live inside Israel enjoy the fruits of Israel without contributing anything to it and they don't share the Zionist ideology. They call themselves Palestinians and they should live with their brothers not with us. We are not one people with them. They will stay exactly where they live now, no one is moving them anywhere but they will live with their ownpeople, not with us. Two states for 2 peoples.

zionist forever   (01.07.14)
If Bibi does want to do this population exchange the most politically acceptable way in the Knesset and will keep the courts out is if he says we will change the border but arabs with Israeli citizenship will be given duel nationality. When the deal is done discreetly introduce legislation saying any future children these arabs have will not be Israeli citizens because they were born outside Israel. Reduce the number of arab citizens at a generational level rather than say your citizens today but you won't be tomorrow Its certainly the only way to keep the courts out of it.
10. Translation
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.07.14)
"No! I don't want to live in 'Palestine!' Please, please, please let me stay in Israel! I earn a good living, I have the right to vote, I can send my children to college and I can take nice vacations every year. Please, please, I want to stay in Israel! Don't send me away to live with my brother 'Palestinians!'" And so on.
11. they know where it's better...
Toledano Jean-Pierre ,   Israel   (01.07.14)
I knew it since a long time. Once,, some years ago, there was almost an agreement about Jerushalaim! Immediately there was a massive rush to get an Israeli identity card and/or passport . Believe me, they, the Israeli Palestinians, know where it's more safe, more good to live: in Palestine or in Israel. Here also more and better social security, medical care institutions,… and whatsoever they (EU, USA,…) say abroad there's here a better and fairer justice than in the surrounding Arabic countries.
12. If you think of yourself as Palestinian then you are refugee
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NYC   (01.07.14)
If you think of yourself as Palestinian then you are refugee to be repatriated to your national home. The fact that this group would not need to move from "Palestinian land that was passed down from father to son way before the State of Israel was established" should make it easier than for those living abroad. Otherwise stop inciting against Israel and become part of the country where you live.
13. citizenship
Greg ,   tel aviv   (01.07.14)
Why remove the israeli citizenship to arabs living in Israel? When the british gave hong kong back to china, many british citizens were allowed to stay in the new chinese hk territory without leaving their houses or jobs. We will have israeli (arab) citizens living in the new free Palestine as dual israeli palestinian citizens. I have no doubt they will help the bonding between all the coutries in the region as israeli expats in an arab country. They will of course rely on tsahal support if they were to be harmed by the new palestinian government or nation and this should be made clear in any peace agreement - do not touch or harm even a hair of our israeli brothers in Palestine.
14. Mr Lieberman will be your next president.
Brett ,   JHB RSA   (01.07.14)
A Genius!!
15. One State.
Moshico ,   Jerusalem   (01.07.14)
Israel is big enough for Arabs to live in it to. Lets face it if your a Arab citizen living in Israel why would you want to give up that right when you get all the benefits a Jewish Israeli gets. The only thing to work out is how to live in peace. The easy solution would be to transfer all the Arabs who don't want peace with Israel.
16. landswap
boas ,   germany   (01.07.14)
You missed the point. These "palestinians" are ARABS with Israeli citizenship. They have all thew rights to live in Israel and they will move in case that the border would bew changed so that their homes would be part of palestine. they simply prefer Israel, they know best that such a fake state will become a muslim sharia state. they know perfectly, that there will be no wealth and no education like in Israel. And they know that HAMAS was the winner of the last elections and that Abbas and Fatah do not represent the Arabs in the Westbank!
17. Then why do you wave the Palestinian flag every time you can
Jim Yakamoto ,   My Country   (01.07.14)
You and your MK's use every dirty trick in the book to vilify and incite hatred against Israel, the country that allows you Freedom of Speech, democracy, education, that feeds you, gives you social benefits and the best medical care in the world (OECD) and an old age pension! You even used the Palestinian issue at the recent Bedouin demonstrations! If you want to be Israelis then show loyalty to your country. If not, go and live in Palestine!
18. Let's stop this charade
Italian for Israel ,   Italy   (01.07.14)
Even a non jew like me knows, unlike mr Mahajna, that the land which he refers to has never been a palestinian one. Having that said, he and the others keep on the usual show. They consider themselves palestinians, refuse to agree to Israel's nature, but are scared by a swap. Why?? They would leave the devilsh jewish State, for joining the palestinian heaven. Ahahah. Apart the jokes, if they want to remain as part of the State, they need to recognise it, joining the related duties, and stop to identify with Israel's enemy. They can't have the cake and eat too.
19. Israeli Arab villages as land swap
Gary ,   Cape Town   (01.07.14)
Whilst this proposal of Lieberman may seem unpractical - it is something that should be explored further, even if the Israeli Arabs maintain dual citizenship. This would mean they are free to return to israel, visit israel etc but also be ruled by their own people. It sounds like the best of both worlds - unless of course the Israeli Arabs do not want to be ruled by their own as they understand what that could mean... If this is the case they should stop calling israel an apartheid state where they claim they are treated as second class citizens and start telling the world the truth.
20. If only they behaved like Israeli citizens
trump   (01.07.14)
and contributed to the prosperity of their state without spitting on it ........
21. Also Jerusalem Arabs will not agree to become Palestinians!
Nethanel ,   Jerusalem   (01.07.14)
There are enough surveys to proof this. Liebermann should bring this up in order to proof that the Palestinian capital cannot become part of Palestine as the Arab citizens won't agree. All Palestinians I spoke with prefer to be Israeli citizens rather than PA citizens.
22. 6
Zionist forever   (01.07.14)
Who says we must give them the option. Nobody asked permission from the Jews in Gaza for permission to get them to give up their homes, one day they were living in Gaza next day they were not nobody asked permission With the arabs would be even easier because they don't even have to move all that happen is the maps are redrawn and their homes find themselves now outside Israel There would be political and legal obstacles to overcome first but if there is a will there is a way.
23. To: No. 13
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.07.14)
No. Abbas has made it painfully clear in no uncertain terms that "Palestine" will be Judenrein. So much for your "bonding" delusion. But I think you understand that, at least on a subliminal level, otherwise you would not have felt the need to add "[t]hey will of course rely on tsahal [sic] support if they were to be harmed ...".
24. palestinian exchange
leon ,   beer sheva israel   (01.07.14)
Of course they want to stay here. Order and benefits from Israel but supporting the Arab enemy when it suites them .
25. It's embrassing
PaulD ,   Jeruslem   (01.07.14)
that Arabs see the stupidity of land swaps, but Jews don't. The problem has nothing to do with land, but with entitlement. Problem is the land of Israel belongs to Israel, Jews, Hebrews, and Arabs can't stand Jews, or anyone except Arabs for that matter. Period.
26. Which side are they on?
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (01.07.14)
Israeli Arabs elect MKs who are publicly anti-Israel. Arab leaders openly oppose any form of alternative national service -- even if done within the Arab sector. Arabs talk about apartheid when Arabs attend all Israeli universities and find every profession open to them. If they value being Israeli why don't they speak up when the loony Left compare Israel to apartheid South Africa? Are they intimidated by Islamist extremists?
27. Good transfer entering political discourse.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.07.14)
Under no circumstances should "Palestinian" poseurs get a single grain of Israeli sand. But it is good to see transfer enter Israeli political discourse at the highest levels. It is a big part of the solution.
28. To: Mira at No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.07.14)
I think you mean MK Tibi. At least I hope you do ....
29. To: SH at No. 26
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.07.14)
What difference should it make if they are intimidated or not? If that is the yardstick, then the lessons of World War II are wasted.
30. Arabs that hate Israel so much, now want to stay citizens?
Alex ,   New York, US   (01.07.14)
