1. NONE OF YOU have rights to work or live here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolute CHUTZPAH ,   Tel Aviv   (01.08.14)
What is wrong with our government?
2. Israel is a jewish country
Sam ,   USA   (01.08.14)
People need to realize that Israel is a Jewish country. If they lose that identity then what difference does it make who governs the land of Canan or what it's called.
3. they should all be deported
jack bauer   (01.08.14)
they are illegal immigrants not asylum seekers if they were really asylum seekers they could have applied in a muslim country like egypt which they were in before sneaking in
4. Why instead of jail not to send them back home.
leo ,   usa   (01.08.14)
5. OMG who are they trying to fool.
sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (01.08.14)
All I see is men. If they where true refugees fleeing conflict the women would of came with them. How do you leave the women behind to fend for themselves?
6. Using USA strategies will not work since
Mea   (01.08.14)
Americans do not and will not give a crap about this issue. That is a fact. Israelis cannot absorb 68,000 people who are not Jewish, period. THe UA does not like this anymore than Israelis, as it complicates many other issues. Another fact is that in spite of it being true that most Israelis do not care for blacks, it is also true that there has been a miscarriage of the issue by those organizing and those (the UN) misrepresenting the handling of this situation. These people are infiltrators. If it were true that they were refugees, whole families, old and sick people would also be in their ranks. So far it appears the demographic is the working class.
7. lol
noname ,   israel   (01.08.14)
lol what are they striking about?
8. african migrants
harvey gefen ,   toronto canada   (01.08.14)
the bible is the basis for israels right to the land of israel..it commands us to love the ger{stranger'-sojourner-foreigner like ourselves}. has our tragic history not taught us that we should empathize with the persecuted refugee. we the waudering jews of millenium were chased out by nation after nation. how can we now imitate those who closed there doors to us. we should not do to the stranger what we would not want to be done to us in the same situation.
9. Absurd
Reality Check ,   Florida   (01.08.14)
This is a ridiculous "strike". If you don't like it in Israel, just leave! Israel doesn't owe you anything, and has already given you so much! Israel already has enough of its own domestic, social and security issues and it doesn't need anymore. Go to one of the European countries who proclaim a love for human rights. Israel already has enough problems and doesn't need your demands too!
10. Only in Israel
Rozie   (01.08.14)
They could have requested Asylum in other countries. They arrived ti Israel illegally and Israel needs to do what other countries do to illegal immigrants. These Africans broke many laws and need to be deported. Israel does not need to absorb them. They could demonstrate all they want. In their countries they would have not been able to do anything.
11. Eritrean 'refugees'
Ron M ,   South Tel Aviv   (01.08.14)
The bulk of these migrants are Eritrean, they are claiming asylum because they would have to serve in Eritrea's military, so they call this 'persecution'.. The ultimate chutzpah, claiming you are an Eritrean refugee because you do not want to serve in Eritrea's military, IN ISRAEL: A COUNTRY WHERE EVERYONE HAS TO SERVE IN THE MILITARY.
12. That seems like a good idea
Howard Immanuelson ,   US   (01.08.14)
I think that's a good idea -- pursuing the strike until you end up in jail. Then you can be easily deported back to the country where you legally reside.
13. OK Then...
jake ,   Haifa Israel   (01.08.14)
Put them all in jail.
14. build them a town near nablus
david ,   new york   (01.08.14)
kill 2 birds with one stone: get rid of foreign illegal aliens and weaken our arab enemies.
15. What jobs are they doing without a work permit?
Michael Redbourn ,   Lisbon Portugal   (01.08.14)
Just crazy. You enter a country illegally and don't have the right to work but then say, "I'm going on strike". And the UN blames Israel! Did the world go nuts? Is it finally something in the drinking water?
16. How about if Israel 1) immediately deports...
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (01.08.14)
...all those 1400 people who have chosen to strike?....and 2) agress to provide refuge for 1401 Africans - preferably women, children and elderly (always more vulnerable than young men) - that are in dire need BUT NEVER HAVE CROSSED ANY BORDER ILLEGALY IN THEIR LIVES??? The signal would be crystal clear: "We are a humane people that are willing to help those in need, but if you wanna try extortion tactics - think again!!!"
17. At least they want to work unlike the harideem
Haim ,   TA   (01.08.14)
How about deport the harideem instead, much better idea.
18. Hopefully all of them
Mira ,   Vienna   (01.08.14)
will end up on board of a plane which takes them I don't care where to, main thing out of here!
19. Next thing on the "it's our human right" never ending list
Concerned Israeli   (01.08.14)
will be to bring over their wives and children and the poor sick old granny. We might as well close up shop and fly to the moon. I hear there's a colony over there.
20. These have proven that they're trouble makers
Naomi   (01.08.14)
21. #11 is right. Let them know if they stay they need to serve
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NYC   (01.08.14)
If they are so keen to stay let them know 2 things: 1- As residents they will need to serve in IDF 2 - No family reunificstions. They left families behind but residency should not mean theu can bring hundreds more
22. My opinion changed
Gil ,   Israel   (01.08.14)
I wasn't particularly fond of them but I wasn't marching to deport them either- this, these actions of theirs, this shamelessness is making me detest them. They did not do themselves any favors by staging this boycott, only made it more apparent what leeches they are.
23. Make their absorption into a new palestinian state a
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (01.08.14)
condition of the peace process. And then when the peace plan fails, blame the PA for not being more open minded towards these refugees.
24. Prosecute all employers of illegal infiltrators
Concerned of Eilat   (01.08.14)
25. anybody would think we are dealing with the histadrut or PA
zionist forever   (01.08.14)
They go on strike They go on hunger strike They protest They go to foreign embassies & the UN demanding Israel lets them stay and releases the ones in Holot. They seem to be getting increasingly radical and they are all starting to back each other up and trying to become a political block in their own right so this is more proof than ever we need to get rid of them. I just hope Bibi has the courage to stand up to the US, UN, Africans and their supporters in Israel and abroad.
26. Mark my words
Chaim ,   Arad   (01.08.14)
You give them a right to stay, and in 5 years they will demand a state because somewhere they will think Solomo had a wife from here and birthed children and therefore they have a right to Israel. When, oh when, will we tell the UN and the world to go pound sand?
27. Why we want to stay in Israel
Mabutu Danguga ,   Tel Aviv   (01.08.14)
We all know how this is going to end. We will petition the UN and the EU to allow us to stay. Bibi will cave into the pressure like all Israeli politicians do and we will bring more of our friends and family to live in this wonderful country.
28. ALL HAVE TO GO!
Miron ,   Israel   (01.08.14)
Any government that will let these infiltrators stay in our country, will have to deal with us in the next elections. I think their departure is more important than any other economic issue we debated till now!!!I hope Netanyahu will act fast.
29. refugees
Lynn ,   Tel Aviv   (01.08.14)
As a people who has suffered so much in foreign lands, we must respect the rights of those refugees who are now in Israel.
30. Let them stay!
Avi Mizrachi ,   Tel-Aviv   (01.08.14)
I employ 30 Eritrian workers in my seven restaurants. I pay the going rate of 80 NIS a day and they're happy and good workers. Without them, my business would fold. I tried employing Israelis at minimum wage plus all the social benefits required by law but I couldn't find even a single person willing to do the work!. The US employs more than 30 million Mexicans to do the work that no American wants to do. Europeans brought in Turks and Africans to do their dirty work. If we want to compete at the game of globalization, we need cheap unskilled labor.
