1. Jerusalem is not yours to sacrifice
Wissam ,   Palestine   (01.09.14)
It belongs to the three monotheistic religions, and the entire world. Check the city's history - and stop spreading rumors.
2. No-one wants to give it up
Bart ,   Netherlands   (01.09.14)
It's an important city to 3 faiths, there's no way either the jewish or the muslim people will say "oh sure, take it from us, no problem". The only solution is to make it an international city. Neither people have more claim to it than the other.
3. To # 1 - you have a place to attend
Arthur ,   SF, CA   (01.09.14)
go to the idol worshiping black stone city; xtians - can go to vatican. Yerushalaim is Jewish: forever and ever
4. Jerusalem Belongs to God
Israeli ,   Haifa   (01.09.14)
HE, who owns Jerusalem, made a covenant with Abraham Isaac and Yakov which made Jerusalem their chief meeting place with Him. You gotta a problem with Jerusalem being for the Jews, talk to God about it. I am a new testiment believer and follower of Yeshua the Jewish Measiah. HE is returning to Jerusalem where HE will set upHos kingdom. And it won't have anything to do with Islam or Catholicism.
5. No way
Paolo ,   Rome, Italy   (01.09.14)
Jerusalem is politically Israeli and will remain so. People who claim it "belongs to the three monoteistic religions" don't get (or better pretend so) the difference between actual rule and faith. Under Israel everyone is free to worship and care about one's holy places. Only under Arab rule was it forbidden. So stop whining and accept it: Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and the place where the three religions are free to flourish
6. At issue are the Arab neighbourhoods.
Sam ,   Canada   (01.09.14)
Even Lieberman would give them up for a peace deal. The only issue on which there is no debate is that Israel remain a Jewish majority country. If the Arabs can't accept that then there is nothing to talk about. It's about time that sunk into their minds.
7. # 1
Italian for Israel ,   Italy   (01.09.14)
It is time for you to come back to home in Saudi Arabia, whereinyou could ride camels in Mekkah.
8. #1, Wissam listen to the truth
Italian for Israel ,   Italy   (01.09.14)
From an italian. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, the homeland of jewish people. And it is sacred to christianity, because jesus was jew, so that its christian holiness is stemmed from judaism. It never was sacred for Islam, instead. The only rumors are those related to your farced people, the most einous invention in muslim history. It is time foryou to come back to your homeland, Saudi Arabia. There, you and your cronies could ride camels, wear niqabs, and study wahabism, the only things you are good for.
9. I know it can surprise you
Jarda ,   Czech Republic   (01.09.14)
but Jerusalem was not founded by Jews. What did Jews worship before they knew, any Jerusalem exists?
10. Jerusalem a burden stone
Dik ,   Spijkenisse   (01.09.14)
God sent a strong and clear warning to the nations through the prophets about Jerusalem, Zechariah 12:2-4: Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah [and] against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. In that day, saith the Lord, I will smite every horse

Vlad   (01.09.14)
It belongs to Israel. It was the first nation to exercises sovereignty since the Ottoman Empire. The only other claimant was Jordan, but since the Jordanians took it in 1948 by force, that claim is dubious, and in any event, the Jordanians renounced it in 1988. It does not belong to the whole world, and it certainly does not belong to you.
12. Jerusalem, holy city of David, where stood the two Temples
CJK   (01.09.14)
jerusalem belongs entirely to the jewish people and the jewish state of israel. the execise of prayer by the other religions is guaranteed by the state of israel.
13. the Arabs know that if the Jews
bob ,   potomac md usa   (01.09.14)
The Arabs know that if the Jews are willing to give up Jerusalem, they will also be willing to give up everything.
14. #2 - Apartheid Dutch
ASTRONAUT ,   SC, USA   (01.09.14)
Once again we hear from the Apartheid Dutch about issues in which they have no understanding or investment. Apartheid, hello?
15. Israel must to keep Jerusalem united at any cost.
Pedro ,   Brazil   (01.09.14)
16. PEACE. There is NO chance for or of...
(01.09.14)
...any peace. Merely containment and reduction of violence to a no more than street crime (in any major urban-metropolitian environment) level directed from the alleged "Palestinians", towards Israel and Israelis-Jews. For the next generation; several hundred years there is NO reason to expect otherwise. Israel will remain. The problem will be a containable infection.
17. King of Jerusalem
West ,   Madrid, Spain   (01.09.14)
King Carlos of Spain still holds the title 'King of Jersualem' from the time the crusaders rule the Kingdom of Jersualem for 200 years. Perhaps he should claim the city? Also it was never build by the ancient Jews, it was conqured by them just like Jerico was.
18. #9, absolutely correct
sharpshin ,   USA   (01.09.14)
Jerusalem was founded by the Canaanites and named for their god of dusk, Shalem. Hebrews ruled there for 513 years of a 3,000 year history. Others, mainly Muslims, ruled there for 2,500 years. Hard to see how the city is exclusively Jewish. Not to mention, no one but Israel recognizes its annexation. Best idea: an international "corpus separatum" as envisioned in all four partition plans.
19. To jarda, comment 9 to 'Jerusalem cannot be sacrificed for p
George Weiss ,   Teaneck   (01.09.14)
Please read the original bible *( the Torah) for all your answers. Peaople that do not are necessarily ignorant of the history of jerusalem and Jews in general, Also, it may interest you to know that the Check people did not live forever in presend day Check republic. Other people (celts) lived there and were conqured and their land taken from them
20. Jerusalem cannot be sacrificed for peace
George Weiss ,   Teaneck, USA   (01.09.14)
it is obvious to everyone that Arabs and most Muslims only want jerusalem to lessen and evenetually eliminate Israel. Only a fool can be deceived by the deceptions going on in ME. It reminds one of europe in the 1930's when people thought that peace was possible withthe Zazis.
21. To. No 1 Jerusalem is the etrnal capital of Israel.
(01.09.14)
Jerusalem was never an Arabh Capital. Under Jordan Jews could not pray in their Holy Places, under Israel all religions have free access. While Israel is in charge of Jerusalem, everybody will have free access to their religious places, if the Palestinian take over no Jew will be allowed to pray in the Wester Wall, or any of the synagogues in the old city.
22. Jerusalem belongs to Israel.
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (01.09.14)
That is, of course, undebatable. Christian and Islamic holy places, as I know, have been respected. Arab quarters may be autonomous, under Israel's sovereignty, and if their dwellers respect the rules. Citizenship must be carefully discussed.
23. Jerusalem
David Segal ,   Philadelphia, USA   (01.09.14)
The Arabs would never forgive Israel for being so craven as to give up the city. Such talk only proves that the Jews aren't faithful even to their own religion or their own identity.
24. #9
Eyal ,   USA Israel   (01.09.14)
The only thing that takes us by surprise is your stupidity. The Holy City of Jerusalem was was founded by Jews who build around the Holy Temple and became a Holy City since. If you are referring to people who lived prior to the Holy City of Jerusalem, that's a another thing.
25. It's important to you because it was important to them.
Max L   (01.09.14)
Your faith came from theirs, not the other way around
26. Lucky for us #1
paulD ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.09.14)
keep up your greedy, false historical entitlement, your lying, hateful breed has been doing it for millennium. It is part of your collective, ungodly consciousness. So it doesn't matter who, or what thread of deception you descend from, you want Jerusalem, come get it. It will be the end of your kind. Finally!
27. Give them East Jerusalem
Dan   (01.09.14)
No one is proposing 'sacrificing' Jerusalem. But the city can be divided into Israeli (including the Old City) and Palestinian. In most places we will stay apart for a couple more generations, but it will be good for both sides to be forced to cooperate in at least one city.
28. To #3, Dear Arthur
Johanna ,   Jyvaskyla, Finland   (01.09.14)
Because I'm (protestant) christian, I do not go to Vatican. I come to Jerusalem. City of God belongs to Israel <3
29. URUSHALEM, created 2000 years before K.David, must be shared
mark ,   NY   (01.09.14)
30. Religious significance does not entitle you to sovereignty
Max L   (01.09.14)
