1. If peace talks fail
analyst   (01.11.14)
make sure it is not because of you. The world will watch how Israel and Palestinians respond to the solution proposal the basic parameters of which have been known for years anyway. Blaming the other side will be useless. And having civilians in Jordan valley is not essential to Israel's security. What a nonsense. Do the farmers protect Israel from an Arab strike? Is that a Jewish version of human shields or something? Rather they themselves need to be protected.
2. The settlements will soon become
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (01.11.14)
economically unviable The question is who will the settlers want to replace their revenue streams as their produce remains unsold
3. no problem,
maurice clebert ,   israel   (01.11.14)
1 - first tell the europeans and americans that their are damaging palestinian economy much more than israeli one that is also having high tech exports (agriculture is only a small part of israeli exports , not like the palesti economy which is mainly based on work in israeli agriculture) 2 - tell the jewish world it is time to help their brothers by buying ONLY judea and Samaria and Jordan valley products - it could even be a good idea to open stores that sell only these products. 3- fight for your rights !! the jewish people has a right on this land from SAN REMO conference 1928 !! this has to be told again and again !!!
4. It is absolutely obvious ...
Jules   (01.11.14)
... that the "Palestinian issue" is blown up absolutely out of proportions: it is minuscule, compared to other conflicts that are devastating countries and nations. In the Muslims-against-Muslims wars alone, after the WW2, 11 (ELEVEN) million people died, but the "international community" is deaf and blind to that fact. The war in Congo resulted in 5 million dead; the Iran-Iraq war brought one million dead, etc.etc. No-one should be mistaken about the nature of the BDS movement: it is a desperate attempt to suffocate the Jewish people economically, since Hitler didn't achieve that goal by his genocidal means. It is a war against the very existence of the Jewish people; no-one really cares about the invented "Palestinian people".

1. We don't believe that old chestnut any more, how can the Palestinians economy suffer any more than it is already when Israel doesn't even allow them to export 2. No doubt the 300,000 Jews living in the UK would only buy settlement produce (I know they won't because not all support the occupation) but if you read the article the issue is not the individual boycotting Israeli produce it is the supermarkets finding alternatives to Israeli ones. 3. San Remo did not establish a Jewish State based on how it was described in the Talmud. San Remo only described a homeland for the Jews in what was then the Palestine Mandate Even Israeli politicians are admitting that there will be a two state solution to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. Get over yourself already, we can see what Israel does to maintain it's occupation in seconds thanks to the t'internet. You can't get away with it anymore

On the other hand, don't tell them, let them find out when the pals start howling and the European's have to cough up more bux to support the pals. A pretty expensive lesson for the army of the Gentile enemies of Israel. Why should Israel care? She didn't cause their pain.. The 'genius's' who began the boycott against Israel will be not only responsible but, spat upon. You can be sure all Jews will vote with their pockets and, so will the majority of American's if they are aware of what's happening. and purchase "Settlement Goods ". One correction, the Jews AKA Israeli's has held claim on Israel for nearly 5,000 years, give or take. She's won every war ( 6 so far ) that all the beloved pals/muslims/arabs began with Israel. Don't worry,G-d is on Israel's side and Israel's will only some through this stronger, bigger and, with oodles of more immigrating European Jews will bring their expertise and appetite with them. BUILD MORE JEWISH ONLY HOMES IN ISRAEL BABY !!! MORE JEWS ARE COMING HOME......
7. # 2 So many "Settlements" so little time
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (01.11.14)
Don't worry yourself with such economic uncertainties, if you should need a real expert on finances, markets, sales, etc. ask the Jews... They've had far wore than this nonsense to deal with too many times to count.... If the pals get the short end of the stick and the European's have to cough up more $$ to keep funding pal terrorists, all the better. BTW, when things get tough, the owners aren't the ones to suffer, it's the employees and, in this case, their pals...BUILDING PARADISE BABY AND.... IT'S SO WORTH IT.!!!
8. To Maurice #3
Dov ben David ,   Eilat, Israel   (01.11.14)
Stop dreaming about la grande Israel. We shall give back the occupied territories (with some exceptions of good land swaping like the wadi Ara). In return we shall have a peace agreement.
9. It will only get worse
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (01.11.14)
No matter how much Israel tries to lean on other governments, the other governments are NOT going to do anything to their own people if the people decide to boycott Israel. Just as the tide turned against South Africa, it will turn against Israel. Enjoy the future you have created for yourselves by your own ACTIONS.
10. Israel's ultimate weapon.
Stan ,   Israel   (01.11.14)
See in article : "Israeli officials say that the boycott has strong anti-Semitic overtones and aims to delegitimize the Jewish state" For 2 decades I have been warning that if there is no withdrawal from the occupied territories we will be boycotted out of existence as happened to the White regime in SA. I also knew that when that boycott began, we would hear cries about anti-Semitism. The two countries which have been condemned by the UN more than any others are ........SA and Israel
11. Why not sell to Israel
Mark ,   London   (01.11.14)
and let produce from farms in pre-67 borders go to Europe and elsewhere? As far as J&S farmers are concerned a dollar is a dollar, regardless of where it comes from. Have farms within '67 borders lost their entrepreneurial edge? Could it be due to lack of investment?

shloime ,   toronto, canada   (01.11.14)
yes, this almost sounds like a "balanced" report, except that it sounds so much like a press release from the bds movement. for example, "sanctions" didn't "bring down the apartheid regime in south africa", israel isn't south africa, and the arabs aren't south africans. just about the only part of the south african analogy that holds any water at all is rhetoric of demonization by a terrorist organization with neither the ability nor the interest to improve the actual lives of their own people. in the case of the jordan valley, it will follow the same course as gaza, with a fanatical terrorist group, jealous of jewish success, destroying what the jews have built, to replace it with un handouts. as the arab proverb goes: "the land belongs to the jews, and the arabs can only grow sand."
15. Great news....
Sally ,   UK   (01.11.14)
..keep boycotting
16. If the Valley i given to the arabs there will be no exports
Scott ,   Ramat Gan   (01.11.14)
The argument by the left in favor of land concessions to prevent a boycott is really absurd. If Israel gives the land away, exports will drop to zero. Farms & factories will close & there will be thousands of palestinians out of work. The EU has never threatened to boycott Israel, just enterprises beyond the green line.
17. I pray...
Rica ,   USA/ISRAEL   (01.11.14)
My Israeli brothers and sisters, will stope immediately the traveling to those European countries who are involved with the boycott Israeli settlement products. It may sound like a small drop in a bucket, but God will fill the rest! Though said the Almighty GOD of Israel " I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who will curses you".“In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel."
18. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.11.14)
That's easy. Can you spell "government price supports?" You are the most disloyal Israeli it has ever been my severe displeasure to encounter. There is something seriously wrong with you. You do not belong in Eretz Israel. Why not move to Ramallah? In the meantime -- seven thousand West Bank Arabs will soon be out of work. Surely you will help support their families, won't you? Or does your hypocrisy not extend to self-sacrifice?
19. A tough spot
Ron ,   oc us   (01.11.14)
But there are other markets besides the EU. America sans a few college co ops will not care labeling or no labeling. I boycott just about all things EU as we Jews and friends can play as well. I do buy Blue and White where possible.
20. Simple solution...
FireJeff ,   Jerusalem   (01.11.14)
Israel should counter the EU boycott in the ICJ by proving israeli presence in Judea & Samaria is legal under international law. This is the only way to stop this illegal boycott. In the sametime, Israel should show to the world that Judea & Samaria belongs legaly to Israel by annexing the area C and the Jordan Valley.

Stan ,   Israel   (01.11.14)
1. 50 years ago South Africa told the world that the boycott was causing hardship for the Africans of that country. It didn't help them. After 25 years of boycott and sanctions the White regime released the arch-terrorist Nelson Mandela from prison, and gave him the keys to the country. 2. Many Jews in the diaspora do NOT support the plan of Israel's extreme right wing to annex all the land between the Jordan and the sea. A market of of 4 million Jews is not going to save Israel. 3. your facts are wrong and your date is wrong. San Remo based it's decision on the Balfour Declaration which did NOT declare all of Palestine to be the Jewish Homeland.
25. Why should I worry about the employment
Mark ,   London, UK   (01.11.14)
...prospects of Palestinians workers since their own elected representatives would rather bring them to destitution than seek a positive way forward?
26. #3 no problem??
On the Balcony   (01.11.14)
1. the Palestinians have little to lose in comparison with Israel and therefore welcome the BDS movement 2. Try telling the growing number of J-Street Jews to support what thy consider to be illegal and immoral settlements 3. Any relevance the San Remo Conference might be thought to have is easily trumped by the Geneva Convention and Palestinians internationally recognized "right to self-determination." Any lawyer worth his kosher salt will tell you the same thing.
27. Reports about Israel by the A.rab P.ropaganda press

Jake   (01.11.14)
Under the terms of the Palestine Mandate, only the portions of Palestine Mandate EAST of the Jordan River (i.e. Transjordan) were allowed to be excluded from the Jewish National Home. Article 25 and the Transjordanian Memorandum suspended/withheld Jewish settlement and immigration in Transjordan, however the same memorandum declared that such alterations to the Mandate provisions in Transjordan were not to be inconsistent with provisions of the mandate that had not been declared inapplicable by the memorandum. In other words, Jewish National Home provisions WEST of the Jordan remained in force and unaltered.
30. AP propaganda - tool of the BDS movement
laura j ,   USA   (01.11.14)
#27 and #14 are absolutely right. This "article" is designed to make it look like the BDS movement is succeeding, whereas in fact it has been an abysmal failure.
