1. Joe Biden & Tony Blair go home
zionist forever   (01.12.14)
I hope we don't get Blair & Biden giving us speeches about Sharon the peacemaker or the memories they have of him there should be no foreign politicians allowed full stop.. The funeral should be attended only by soldiers, Israeli politicians and family This isn't the Rabin funeral where he was murdered by somebody who was opposed to the peace process This is a funeral for a man who died after dedicating all his life to his country in both the military and politics and so it should be an Israeli affair and not a platform for foreign politicians to preach peace.
2. #1 Exactly!

3. Sharon gave israel Peace....
Robert ,   Farmingon,wv   (01.12.14)
Sharon gave Israel peace , now God as given him peace , hope to see you again One day Sharon. you gave your life to keeping The State Of Israel safe , nothing more could have been asked of you.
4. May I bury my husband in my garden?
Nora Tel Aviv   (01.12.14)
Excuse me but, the laws that allowed the burials of Arik Sharon and his wife at their Havat Hashikmim farm should be thoroughly investigated. Such a precedent could permit ordinary citizens to bury their relatives in their gardens.
5. #1
Friend of Israel ,   londonderry Nireland   (01.12.14)
Exactly. Never trust Blair.
6. #4, Are you a heroic statesman? How about your relatives?
mea   (01.12.14)
I despise people who argue using petty fable comparisons. You are not allowed to bury your self in your garden, and I feel that's a shame. Maybe just your head this time...
7. Ariel Sharon's Israel
Mark Jeffery Koch ,   Cherry Hill, NJ USA   (01.12.14)
Ariel Sharon's Israel was an Israel where all of its neighbors, on a daily basis, threatened to annihilate the State and drive all the Jews into the sea. It was and is an Israel where the Palestinians name their streets in honor of terrorists who have slaughtered innocent men, women, and children on busses, in restaurants, schools, shopping malls, and supermarkets. It was and is an Israel that witnessed Arab terrorists targeting little children and being lauded in Arab cities for murdering Jewish children. In 1979 Palestinian Sami Kuntar and his group of terrorists broke into an apartment building in Israel and kidnapped a young father, 31-year-old Danny Haran, and his 4-year-old daughter, Einat, taking them to a nearby beach. Kuntar was found guilty of murdering Haran in front of Einat, then turning to the child and crushing her skull against a rock with the butt of his rifle. When he was released from jail many years later in a swap with Hezbollah for two Israeli soldiers who had been captured he received an heroes welcome with people dancing in the street upon his return. It is easy for the Diaspora, living in the comfort of their homes in America, to criticize Sharon's strong arm tactics but he did what had to do for his people. The Left will never understand a man like Sharon. They don't have to worry about the safety of their children going to a nightclub, to school, getting on a bus, going out for lunch to a restaurant, or going to a shopping mall to meet their friends. Israeli's have endured dozens and dozens of terrorist attacks. What happened in Boston a year ago at the Marathon has been duplicated a hundred times all across Israel with terrorist attacks against innocent men, women, and children. What the Left will never understand is that you cannot negotiate with people who want your annihilation. There is nothing you can ever offer them that will placate them except your death and destruction. Sharon understood that, and yes, his tactics were brutal at times, but they were effective. Unless you have family living in bomb shelters as many families in the North of Israel have during Hezbollah missile attacks, and unless you have received that horrible call about a loved one who was blown to pieces while on a bus, a restaurant, a school, or a shopping mall then you cannot and never will understand what the average Israeli had to deal with on a daily basis. Sharon responded in the only language those sending out terrorists to slaughter Jews understood. Should he be lauded? No. Understood? Most definitely yes.
8. At this moment Sharon would much rather appreciate
Judy ,   TA   (01.12.14)
people saying Kaddish for him than standing like dumb dodos saluting him. He's dead, what does he need saluting for? He doesn't see it and doesn't appreciate it.
9. No matter how hard
paulD ,   Jerusalem   (01.12.14)
the media tries, I'm sure the majority of Israelis know Sharon's last act left us simple peasants a lot worse than we have ever been, and why we are suffering today from our hate-filled, blood thirsty peace partners.
10. I am ashamed and embarrassed
Ephraim ,   Jerusalem   (01.12.14)
Shame on Israel today. This is not a time to talk politics. This man devoted his life to our country. Today should be a day to stand united, forget politics, and show the world we are Am Israel.....proud and strong. It's disgusting how few people showed up today at the Knesset. Making a few shekels was more important. Most of you sit home and write garbage on the Internet all day, and did nothing to help our country. This man and his generation saved us from annihilation more than once. Right or left, for or against the withdrawal from that cesspool Gaza, we should all salute this brave hero. I am embarrassed today to be an Israel. Shame on us.
11. 6# Dear mea, gently gently.
Nora Tel Aviv   (01.12.14)
There is no question about the general and statesman Arik Sharons`s brilliant place in the history of Israel. One of Israel`s best military or civilian cemetaries can be choosen as the final resting place of such a hero. But not private property that can be sold tomorrow.
12. Dear Nora, think, think
mea   (01.12.14)
If you believe Sharon was a great leader, maybe you should respect him enough to not make disgusting remarks upon his death. The land he and his wife are buried on is owned by the State and will likely never be "sold", as it has never been sold, but leased. The area of Anemome Hill will likely remain a dedicated memorial sight. Gee, that wasn't too tough to figure out, was it?
13. Toda Arik
Shir ,   Polin   (01.12.14)
Thank you for being a great leader for this great nation, for being brave and warm, moderate and strong.Your spirit will live on and you will be dearly remembered, honored and respected as an Israeli true hero
