They are brown shirts. Their main job is to beat demonstrators and harass women on the street. They are a force of unintelligent thugs. It is because of them that Iran is so utterly demoralized. Birthrate has collapsed and Iran has the highest drug addiction rate in the world. Every time a young intelligent Iranian enters the street, he confronts one of these fanatical morons. At that point, he does not want a family, he does not think of a future but he most definitely wants an opiate. The Basij will destroy Iran.
