1. Just prolonging the agony
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (01.20.14)
Canada can't play both sides down the middle and expect any real friends. The net result will be two enemy states. KEEP BUILDING !!!
2. Canadian financial aid to West Bank
Rock Nixon ,   Belleville USA   (01.20.14)
It just amazes me that financial assistance would be given while rockets are continually fired into Israel at non military targets. With so called friends and stanch allies like the US and Canada behaving in this manner, what incentive is there for Abas to change his, and Palestinian behavior?
3. #1, I agree !

Happy settler   (01.20.14)
great news- we can finally build that firing range we have wanted for so long and just think another 5000 ganim for all those babies that will be born- Mr harper you are a real gent!
5. Strange situation
Rodney ,   CT. SA.   (01.20.14)
This man says he supports Israel and then gives her enemies the means to arm themselves by giving them finances. Does he honestly believe that Abbas will use the money for peace. How stupid can you get???
6. pathetic
Dr Kildare ,   Canada   (01.20.14)
This makes as much sense as does Canada! Giving aid to a terrorist organization in essence. Why does Israel even entertain someone like this outfit called Harper? But remember folks, Canada is a safe haven for terrorist and murders, so what should we really expect from such a so called country?
7. Apparantely being insulted by the "palestinian" traitors
A ,   Belgium   (01.20.14)
Tibi and Abu Arar, who are called "parlementarians" while commiting treason against the state they supposedly represent, wasn't enough for Harper to rethink awarding baksheesh gifts to another terrorist.
8. Why not help improve economy?
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (01.21.14)
I've never cared to be politically correct to suit either the left or the right. I live in a Jewish settlement and support our entitlement to do so. However, that doesn't mean I have to kowtow to nonsense. There has been a long period of fairly quiet years, and a genuine mood from local Arabs wanting to enjoy prosperity rather than get caught up in a protracted war. In other words, the status quo has much going for it. "If it works don't fix it!" Harper does not stipulate the terms of that grant other than saying it is to help improve their economy. I say why not? There are many sane settlers interested in improving peace through rational means. Sad that outsiders see us as an obstacle to peace when we are a major part of the solution. There is a right path to follow, and that doesn't have to involve relinquishing our own rights, nor our own ability to support ways of stabilizing peace. Welcome to Israel Harper! Oh, and maybe Kerry can get around to listening to local opinion rather than strange voices in his head? .

10. To: David at No. 8
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.21.14)
Harper stressed investment in the West Bank. He didn't say a word about "Palestinians."
11. World gives $10 Billion in aid to Palestine Israel per year
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.21.14)
...with about 85% going to Israel, and about 15% to Palestine.
12. Prime Minister Harper would do better to pledge money to
Rivkah   (01.21.14)
relocate Palestinians to the 50+ Arabic speaking nations far away from Israel. By supporting the Palestinians, Prime Minister Harper is bringing judgment on Canada for opposing the Lord's plan for a peaceful Jewish nation, unencumbered by Palestinian violence. What happens to nations who call the Lord a liar by opposing Jewish rights to Jerusalem and the Promised land of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? Here are a few examples: Shortly after Japan endorsed a Palestinian State, the nuclear meltdown at Fukushima's Dai-Ichi nuclear power plant. Shortly after the Philippines endorsed a Palestinian State, two typhoons hit the P.I., one of them the worst in the history of weather records. Shortly after President George W. Bush forced Ariel Sharon to pull the Jews out of Gaza without compensation, Hurricane Katrina hit the USA and displaced the same percentage of Americans as the Gaza pullout displaced of Jews in Israel. John McTernon's books on the subject have many more examples. I suggest Prime Minister Harper read some of John McTernon's books to learn to respect what the Lord wants for the Jews and not for the Palestinians called Philistines in the Holy Scriptures.

Wouldn't it be something for foreign leaders to start thinking outside the box and doing something normal for a change? No paradox intended, but it seems that people living in close proximity to each other, like Jews & Arabs in the Shomron, co-exist much better when their respective occupations revolve around earning a salary, rather than a martyrs' death. So normality would be helping to boost genuine economic growth for all the occupants of our region. So yes, you have a valid point drawing attention to Harper's vague use of improving the economy of the WB (I can tolerate ignorance over the name of where we live) without mentioning one people over another. Sadly, world leaders are only focused on aparthied policies against us Jews living where we are meant to be. Sarah, many of us meet local Arabs shopping in certain popular supermarkets, working on building sites, gas stations and other places of common useage. We are frequently informed that they actually prefer the status quo, and that's also true from very many Jewish settlers. So why not attempt to improve something that 'does' work, rather than social experiments more fitting for a nazi regime, such as Kerry would impose upon us...Jews & Arabs alike?
