1. the only reason for these talks is to avoid western interven
zionist forever   (01.22.14)
These talks are a joke, Assad doesn't take them seriously, the rebels don't take them seriously, the rest of the world knows they are not going to be taken seriously and its all about image. The west push talks so heavily not because they expect anything to come of it but it allows them to pretend they are doing something and not ongoing the problem. Obama went with Putins offer of getting rid of chemical weapons in exchange for calling off military action Obama was desperate to avoid. As long as Assad kills without the use of chemical weapons thats ok with us western powers because we have our own problems to deal with. Syria proves the need for Israel, liberal minded peace nicks say that Israel served its purpose and there could never another Holocaust because the word would intervene. Over 100,000 are dead in Syria and its been going on for over 3 years but nobody has lifted a finger to help how do we know if the Jews rather than arabs the world would not turn a blind eye if they didm' want to get involved, can't rely on anybody but yourself so don't put your fair in others.
2. An opportunity?

With the civil war in Syria showing the need for the Assad regime in the battle against fundamentalist terrorism it would be a shame if some understanding could not be reached between Israel, Syria and some moderate Arab countries. Fundamentalism is a danger to everyone, and it is the ordinary Muslims who will be the first to suffer.
