1. Splitting the Jewish Community
(01.22.14)
Mr. Harper is doing a wonderful job of also dividing the Jewish community here in Canada into two camps which is a very scary thing. When one of his MP's at the Kotel yesterday wanted to take the "million dollar shot" with the PM at the Kotel for his "re-election campaign", then you know where the idea of this trip originated.
2. Imagine that!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.22.14)
For the last twenty years or so, the international community has grown accustomed to bullying Israel, and singing the praises of a terrorist rabble -- for no other reason other than as despicable as terrorists are, and no matter how much people may dislike terrorists and the trade they ply -- they hate Jews more (no, anti-Semitism has NOT gone away), and what better object against which to direct that hatred than that most tangible symbol of the Jewish people: the State of Israel. Cometh now Stephen Harper, who deigns to speak the truth, does not apologize for being pro-Israel, and doesn't mince words when he points out that the "Palestinian" cause has absolutely no historical validity or legitimacy. Truth hurts. The powers that be in the European Union and the American administration don't know what to make of Mr. Harper's candor. I, for one, am grateful that there is at least one courageous head of state who is not afraid to say that the emperor has no clothes.
3. don't forget what they hypocritical Zehavia Gal-On said
zionist forever   (01.22.14)
Last week Gideon Saar made an off the record comment about how Kerry should stay away fro Israel. Meretz leader Zehavia Gal-On publicly condemned him for it creating such a big stink about it he was forced to apologise to Kerry. The Canadian PM comes on an official visit in the spirit of friendship he gives a speech and Gal-On goes on the record and says he sounds like a spokesman for the foreign minister and he is burying his head in the sand. The far left like to consider themselves the enlightened ones who stand up for moral values and justice but they are the biggest bunch of hypocrites out and especially Gal-On who has tried to silence the right on more than one occasion but believes in free speech.
4. 1. Nonsense
Ypip ,   Canada   (01.22.14)
The Liberals did that.

The outward appearance that Harper loves Israel is only a facade. He may be better than most but if you will recall, he also gave millions to the pails and supports the two state final solution! No one who supports the division of Eretz Israel is really a friend of Israel. While it is true that I personally would prefer Harper on his worst day than obummer on his best, if he ever has one, we must remember that the lesser of two evils is still evil.
6. Evangelical Harper should give Vancouver Island to the Jews
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.22.14)
...like evangelical British PM David Lloyd George, and his FM Arthur James Balfour, gave Palestine to the Jews.
7. Proud Canadian
LJH ,   Canada   (01.22.14)
I have never been prouder to be a Canadian. Thank you Mr. Harper. It is unfortunate that he is under so much pressure in this country from the liberal voters, who pander to the muslims and despise his pro Israel stance. I sincerely hope Mr. Harper wins another majority gov't in 2015!
8. @6
LJH ,   Canada   (01.22.14)
If he did give Vancouver Island to the Jews, it would almost certainly become an even more beautiful place than it already is. If he gave it to the muslims, it would become another terrorist hellhole.
9. I'm proud to be a Canadian Israeli!
Neomi   (01.22.14)
Mr. Harper has the integrity to go against the status quo and I apploade him for that. Although I hesitate to vote for the conservatives because of social policy issues, Stephen Harper definitely has my vote!!!
