Rodney ,   CT. SA   (01.22.14)
In order to get Israel to give God's land to the terrorists. It won't be Israel who will pay a high price, it will be the rest of the Jew hating world. God bless Israel.

7. Lame duck EU Commission
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (01.22.14)
Don't worry,Israel, these are the quacks of a EU Commission whose term is running out in very few months this year. The new EU Commission will be a very different body because of the change in mood in Europe that's going to return a new European Parliament in May.These commissioners are on their way OUT,including Catherine Ashton. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
8. EU not threatening, just BSing
Shmuel. L. Jackson ,   London UK   (01.22.14)
They are not threatening a boycott. They are saying things might get a bit more stormy than they are now. boycott will hurt EU as well.
9. Someone should remind the EU...
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (01.22.14)
That ending "the occupation" is conditional on the achievement of a negotiated peace agreement with the relevant party, in this case the Palestinian Authority. Attention should be paid to UNSCR 242, which the European members of the UN Security Council ratified.
10. Does kerry Remember These Words
(01.22.14)
In an address delivered on September 1, 1982 President Ronald Reagan said: In the pre-1967 borders Israel was barely 10 miles wide at its narrowest point. The bulk of Israel's population lived within artillery range of hostile Arab armies. I am not about to ask Israel to live that way again... Finally, we remain convinced that Jerusalem must remain undivided!!!
11. The EU can't solve its own continuing economic problems,
A ,   Belgium   (01.22.14)
so they need someone to threaten with boycotts. Unfortunately for them, the State of Israel is not the Jews of the 1930's and 40's.
12. The EU is a bunch of Antisemites...they
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (01.22.14)
certainly CANNOT command Israel ! THEY ARE TOOTHLESS BASTARDS !
13. The EU price tag is a BARGAIN in comparison
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (01.22.14)
to the loss of Judea and Samaria and the fatal consequences of the break up of the Jewish land !
14. To All Commentators
Harold ,   USA   (01.22.14)
I told you so. The sanctions will be worst than the sanctions impossed on aparthied South Africa.
15. Money talks, "irrelevant" EU now relevant w/economic threats
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.23.14)
16. To Harold # 14
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (01.23.14)
Blah blah blah......yada yada yada. I'm just repeating what you said.
17. Sigh
Daniel   (01.23.14)
Most talkbackers apparently cannot understand the difference between antisemitism and legitimate criticism. Antisemitism is a huge problem, but criticising the Israeli administration is not antisemitism, just as there's nothing anti-English about criticising the Tories or anything anti-US about criticising Obama. Antisemitism is a real problem, that unfortunately gets diluted every time someone shouts "antisemitism" at perfectly relevant criticism.
18. The EU ...
Mike ,   NZ   (01.23.14)
Those antisemites need to be reminded that the last time they told the Jewish people where to live the address turned out to be a ghetto in the capital of Poland. Believe it or not, if forced to, Israel can live without Ms Ashton and the EU ... the question is can the EU live without Israeli gas and tech nowhow. Its about time the EU invited the Fakeistinians to come live in Europe seeing they are such big mates !!! I await Lydia's comment with baited breath !!
19. Show of even-handedness
Shalom ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.23.14)
The big threat here is to the Pals: the EU is threatening to pull out the carpet from under their economy. In order to appear even-handed, the EU has to make a show of threatening Israel at the same time. But whereas the Palestinians are just a financial drain on Europe, the Europeans profit in many ways from trade and scientific connections with Israel. Add to this Israel's discovery of vast quantities of natural gas, which the Europeans want to import, and the threat to Israel is not so serious.
20. What do EU dodos suggest Israel do?
Sam ,   Canada   (01.23.14)
The EU accepts that peace leaves a Jewish majority Israel. The Palestinians reject this. What have the Palestinians told the EU about what Israel needs do for them to accept a Jewish majority Israel for the long term. Come on you EU dodos, tell us. It's certainly not stopping settlements.
21. No more Jewish submission to Europe.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.23.14)
Israel can find new markets. There mustbe no more Jewish submission to perfidious Europe. This land is ours. We have no need of E.U. approval.
22. 10 Thou shall not covet thy neghbours goods
lydia ,   Brisbane   (01.23.14)
Israel est. Euro squatters sees the fact that the Palestinians have land they covet as divine a right to mass murder and land theft
23. 19 EU doesn't want your lot of squatters back
lydia ,   Brisbane   (01.23.14)
Palestinians will have to be compensated for 60Y of Israel illegal occupation a lot more than 5Y of Hitlers war.
24. Get real
Reuven ,   Netanya   (01.23.14)
Does anyone here really think that the EU "needs" Israel? Seems like that if I read all these comments. No idea where you all get this idea from but we mean economically nothing to the EU. There is nothing that we produce that can't be replaced by another country. You are living in a dream world if you think that we are irreplaceable and that little bit of gas is leverage to do what we please. I petty all those who will wakeup one day and see that their fata morgana is gone and than they will all shout anti semites lol
25. Solution: One State Greater Israel free of Arabs relocated.

28. US GIs enter from Jordan & transfer Arabs to Mecca for Peace
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.23.14)
29. The Enemies of the State of Israel Wish....."
ltrail ,   United States   (01.23.14)
The writer of this article wrote that EU Ambassador Lars Faaborg-Andersen said, " Israel will find itself increasingly isolated." Oh, , you are so very naïve. The State of Israel may flounder in the side of mankind, but will not find itself increasingly isolated from God Himself. Instead, the EU will likely find itself isolated from God by its self-will and its lack of obedience to God. I rather think that the State of Israel exists not because of the EU, but because God has spoken and it exists eternally Selah. The State of Israel will continue to exist without any donor support from the EU. I note that the EU was not present when the state of Israel was reborn in May 1948. Lots of laughs.
