1. Pamela Anderson
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.23.14)
Animal rights activist, eh? Why does she wear leather shoes and carry leather bags? Do you suppose she's aware that tattoos (of which she has quite a few) is abhorrent to Jews, too?
2. pamela
jj ,   montreal   (01.23.14)
In other words she supports wearing synthetic material which contributed350 times more pollution than co2 and takes eons to decompose in landfills than natural fibers like fur. Not to mention fur is much warmer than synthetics in cold climates.
3. This non-Jewish woman
Uri   (01.23.14)
should keep the 7 mitzvot all non-Jews are required to keep, before she opens her filthy mouth talking about Jews violating Jewish principles. It's none of her business.
4. How about lether shoes, eating steak,
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (01.23.14)
chicken ?.
5. Since when is Anderson an expert on "Jewish values"?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (01.23.14)
I still own a classic sheepskin (shearling) I used for decades until the skins started tearing. Natural fibers and synthetics don't make for a proper alternative. Anderson is welcome to argue her "no fur" case, but she lacks the credibility to argue based on something she knows little about. But I'll keep my sheepskin and my leather jackets.
6. Fur in Israel
Roman ,   IL   (01.23.14)
How many people do wear fur in Israel? :) Sure, that would be an easy legislation, just ,like it would be in Sudan or Kenya... Good luck doing that in Finland or Russia or Canada :)
7. farmed vs. wild fur
sujaye ,   usa   (01.23.14)
Farmed mink is no different that farmed chicken as long as the meat is used. I am totally against hunting wild furs for clothing. Wearing leather from cows is simply using something that is a waste product of people's overindulgence in eating meat. Let's focus on the real problems.
8. Pamela, honey...
manicdrummer ,   Haifa, Israel   (01.23.14)
You wear leather shoes and God knows what else. Here in Israel, animals are slaughtered in a way that doesn't cause pain and suffering. It ain't just the food that's kosher, doncha know.
9. "Cute Furry Animals" Feh!
David Lloyd-Jones ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.23.14)
If Pamela Anderson thinks seals suffer long -- by law they are killed swiftly with a hardwood stave at least foot feet long; the random shootings and knifings of the past are long over -- then I invite her two watch film of fur seals torturing cod to death, before taking a bite and leaving the rest to die, slowly slowly, and then rot. Humans have never eaten more than 600,000 tons of cod a year from the Atlantic fishery. Fur seals continue to try for their normal million tons, and come close. What's different is they are eating the remaining young, not the mature fish available in the past, and of course the humans are now taking nothing. I yield to no-one on my Jewish values. My close friend Elizabeth Rubin wears her Norwegian "blue" seal jacket with pride. I wish I could have made it floor length. -dlj.
10. We tried it once and we came close
Avi   (01.23.14)
Israel came close few years ago to be the first nation to completely ban the manufacture and import of fur. Not Canada nor Norway were able to stop it (as they feared a domino effect which would damage their fur exports), but it was the haredi minority that managed to stop it.
11. a barely dressed hubris speaking non-Jew is more offensive!

12. Jewish "Values"? You Mean Values Such as
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (01.23.14)
illegal occupation. Illegal colonization. Land and water theft. Subjugation of the native population with a series of racist laws, apartheid checkpoints walls, roads and bus systems? Shooting protesters? Using the military to guard Jewish thugs while they throw rocks at non-Jews? Yet somehow furs violate Jewish "Values"?
13. Dear Pamela.
Ram ,   London   (01.23.14)
It says in the Bible: "From the following animals you shall eat....". I guess their specific skins are ok to use. So be clever and specify which animals "Thou Shall Not Kill" :-)

mimimoomoo ,   syracuse n.y.   (01.23.14)
why don't you bother the arabs about occupation ,how many jews and other non-muslims have been thrown out of there homes and lands by the "peaceful and tolerant?"Go to the huffington post with you liberal ,progressive nonsense.
15. Her famous smile and the kosher fur trade
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (01.23.14)
I don't think it's her smile that made her famous... I think that she has a point though. We should start a kosher fur trade. We should import animals used for their furs to Israel and kill them in a humane way and send the first chinchilla coat to Pam Anderson with a kosher stamp on the label.

20,000 chickens in a dusty chaotic chicken house isn't cruel? How can an egg be kosher when a chicken lives it's whole life in a teeny tiny cage and can't even stretch? That isn't cruel? A cow injected with hormones and other things and fed only grain in a very crowded feedlot isn't cruel? Ah, but there is a shochet. Look at the big picture and get real ! Pamela is not perfect and neither are you. Have you even seen a leg trap in the woods with a leg still in it, because the animal chewed it's own leg off to get free? Ah but we need our shtrammels! Many of you posting here need to look in the mirror and remove your horse blinders and take a new look at what really is "kosher"
17. Pamela wants peope to wear silicone instead
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.23.14)
18. you hsame us all by your abusive talk
Maurice Solovitz ,   London, England   (01.23.14)
there is nothing wrong with a person giving their opinion. there is something wrong with the response when it is phrased as 'filthy'. A bit of rachmoness and not just towards animals but for your fellow Jews who are disgusted by such strong language perhaps?
19. Cover your tuchas, lady...
ASTRONAUT ,   SC, USA   (01.23.14)
and spend some time STUDYING Torah, Talmud, Schulchan Aruch, before you embarrass yourself any further.
20. Feh
Scott Miller ,   Boca Raton   (01.23.14)
You are more 'feh' than any living animal, and for the record, you have no Jewish values whatsoever.
21. #16
jj ,   Montreal   (01.24.14)
Today, for your information, fur is farmed not trapped. I would rather wear natural fiber than petroleum based material that takes eons to decompose in a land fill. Not to mention the polution it causes in production.

You mean to tell me that they farm raise otters , beavers and raccoons? where do you get your info?
