2. And Blau went free
Dan   (01.26.14)
Although journalists are supposed to work without fear of punishment, in this case Blau published classified material he knew was stolen. The fact that the censor cleared publication is completely irrelevant. And then he fled to London. If he was so sure he did nothing wrong, why did he run away?? He is nothing but, to quote Arik Einstein, a little reporter. He should go to jail for at least as long as Anat Kam!!
3. Israel treats treachery as a minor offence
zionist forever   (01.26.14)
She already got just a slap on the wrist with house detention followed by 4.5 years jail time but now she is released with a third cut off her jail time. No doubt she will soon be negotiating with Haaretz her very generous payment for a series of interviews about what she did, how badly she was treated. Shame we don't treat our traitors the way the Americans do theirs. Bradly Manning gave away much less information than Anat Kamm did and he has got life in prison without parol Kamm does worse and she gets a slap on the wrist and doesn't even serve the full term. Vanunu served just 18 years for doing huge damage to national security he was released on parol but he has broken it time and time again but he doesn't get straight back to prison he gets sent back to his resident and non those few occasions he is locked up he is release within a matter of weeks.
4. Uri Blau is the real traitor
JewishHeart ,   Israel   (01.26.14)
I feel bad for Anat Kamm, she was young, impressionable, and was probably lured by Uri Blau to give that information away. Uri Blau is the evil that lurks beyond this whole episode. He deserves to be in jail. I agree that this young impressionable girl got little time, hopefully, Uri will be arrested and get twice the time!
5. does "democracy" work????
les ,   canada   (01.26.14)
or maybe Egypt is on the right track with their march toward DICTOCRACY? when traitors, murderers, gangsters etc. are better represented before the "law", than the law abiding, hard working citizens of the country, there is something basically wrong with the system.
6. She is a traitor who belongs in jail

They each deserve a bullet to the head. Sorry.
8. Anat Kamm is a hero!

9. NOT a whistleblower, a traitress
Israeli Grandma   (01.26.14)
All the excuses about foolishness are just for the courts. She knew what she was doing, she STOLE sensitive documents. In a private business she would have been in much more serious trouble for such actions. Here she put us all at risk by distributing sensitive military information. Her punishment was too mild, and the only thing we can hope is that she will not re-offend against our national interests. Her grandmother would have been appalled if she had lived to hear about her grand daughter's moral turpitude.

Blau and Haaretz were as usual looking for a juicy story condemning the IDF but Anat Kaam approached him he didnt ask her to steal the documents. Her motives don't matter she knowingly committed a crime so she can't complain that she went to jail. She should count herself lucky she got a slap on the wrist compared to what she could have got. She should certainly be grtefful she is not in the US because there she would be lucky if she would be very lucky if she got less than 20 years jail time. As for Blau he might have been a journalist but he should have got more than about 4 week community service. Haaretz should have also been prosecuted for publishing the documents because whilst Balu wrote the stories Haaretz published it all.
11. Anat Kamm
Mike ,   Edmonton, AB   (01.26.14)
Since she has now a criminal conviction, she will not be able to get a visa to the US and/or Canada. According to Canadian law, Ms. Kamm will not be able to enroll in Medical or Law school for the same reason.
12. Soon she'll be a rising star in Meretz.
