The army is one of the biggest wasters of resources in the country - I know from experience. Too much goes to salaries and perks. Time to tighten the belt - and not with training and the lower ranks. Enough with early retirements and wasteful spending.

For the ground forces the new Namer APC which was going to be replacing the 50 year old M113 has been cut so troops are at risk especially considering terrorists now have modern anti tank missiles and the number of Merkavas to be bought has been cut back but Egypt is increasing the number of Abrams tanks they operate. The navy needs new boats because they are being asked to do more and they are retiring old ships and not replacing them, the newest surface vessel in the fleet are the 3 SAAR 5 corvettes and they are now 20 years old. The Egyptian navy is much bigger than Israel. The air force is shrinking so now Egypt has more jets than we do and Saudi Arabia will soon have the biggest and most modern airforce in the region. Out of the planned 100 F35 we only bought 19 and there are no plans to buy more in the near future but most arabs have the F16. The number of Iron Dome batteries planned have been cut because there is a shortage of funds. At the same time the IDF is preparing cutting back on essential equipment to save money they are spending millions to recruit thousands of haredi job nicks for political reasons, so they sacrifice equipment for haredi.

America is more messed up now than feels safe, and will need to dig out if it does not sink.
