jorge ,   argentina   (02.03.14)
Israel is paying the prize for develope bulidlings and allow settler slowly. Just approve hundred of thousand of new buildings and annex all of them. Just showing the boycoters that the pressure has the opposite effect will disuade them to stop it. Who do they think they are to impose armistice lines as frontiers?
32. No need to waste time
Brod ,   USA   (02.03.14)
Israel should not allow itself to be manipulated and pressured by external forces to self-destruct. Abbas should not be allowed to continue to lie to the world and make the cesspool of Anti-Semitism as his Dhimmis to do his dirty work on Israel. The savages do not know peace. Their agenda is the destruction of Israel. Israel should stop wasting time talking to thugs and savages.

35. Give Abbas an ultimatum
Galut ia ,   Selah   (02.03.14)
recognition of Israel as a jewish state or annexation of the west bank into Israel ... time to stop playing the footsie game Abbas knows if he recognizes Israel as a Jewish state he will likely be terminated by his own people ....

HAHAHA you made me laugh i swear, you are ignorant of the situation here, you do know that 2 million palestinian arab of whom 90% are muslims live inside the wall not out of it as parts west bank and gaza. so if there is a decision of escalation trust me those 2 million could act easily. so NO the seperation wall is not working at all. Palestinians are resting for now either peace or another round that would be much more deadly than the one before. compare the first intifada and second intifada or first war on gaza and second war on gaza and you will understand the significant change in the power and effect of palestinian resistance. but we dont want that, so PEACE is the answer.

Really? Are you quite sure? And when Israel offers natural gas at below-market prices -- which Russia does not; in fact, Russian natural gas is priced very much above market -- then what? North Sea oil is expected to run out in a little over a decade. Norway has done quite nicely for itself, but what about the rest of Europe? What about Scotland? What about the UK? Moreover, the Leviathan natural gas field is hardly a "bubble" -- it is the second largest field ever discovered, and it sits atop petroleum reserves. Newsflash right back at you: Israeli information technology is ranked number one in the world. There are very few European joint venture agreements with American companies, because of those highly complex and conflated European Union requirements; American companies much prefer to deal with Israel, which is why so much of the current spate of IT innovations come out of Israel. As far as patents are concerned -- something on order of 400 IT patents were filed by Israeli companies with the USPTO in 2013 ALONE. Finally, there are no "subsidies" from the United States -- there are joint venture investment capital agreements between American entities and Israeli entities (these, by the away, account for 85% of American foreign aid to Israel). I might also add that 70 percent of the chemotherapy protocols in use throughout the world today were developed in Israel, and Israel holds slightly over 6,000 patents with respect to these protocols. Israel is also in the forefront with respect to agro technology and desalinization. You need to stop embarrassing yourself; you are woefully ignorant, and it is showing. How did you ever get to be so dismally uninformed with respect to Israel's role in the international marketplace? Shameful, really!

I'm glad you find it amusing that Israel can pull the plug on you at any time. I assure you that the next "intifada" will sound your death knell. Good riddance to violent rubbish. But if peace is the answer, why do you allow your "leadership" to drag its feet? Abbas, Fayyad and all the rest of them are multi-millionaires with lavish homes in Europe and very hefty offshore bank accounts ... and the average "Palestinian" has what? And were it not for Israel, the average "Palestinian" would have a great deal less. So it seems to me that you had better start working hard to get the "Palestinian" house in order instead of threatening mayhem. We'll win that one, sluggo, the way we've won all the others, and you just may discover that there will be no room for you in the Jewish State; you know, the State your idiot leadership refuses to acknowledge and recognize. Why do you people make things so difficult for yourselves? Is it a congenital failing? You had your chance at a state in 1947. You rejected it and chose to go to war instead. You lost. Tried five more times -- and lost five more times. End of story. Cry me a river. Learn from your mistakes. But for now -- it's time for you to move on.

were twinkles in G-ds eyes, first came Israel. Nothing's changed, Israel is the apple of G-ds eye and is His place of habitation... Zion. His Place, His people, His Zion=Israel. When did Moses need the EU or obama's Amerikanza??
46. #37 Intifada negatively impacts Palestinians
Cynthia ,   USA   (02.03.14)
War is costly on the economy and human life. You can't keep running to the UN, EU and US to rebuild your destruction. These intifadas also cost Palestinians jobs. Over 100,000 worked in Israel before the first intifada. Now about 10,000. Peace is the answer to it's in your best interest to remain peaceful.
47. best thing is for bibi to step down now
alexi   (02.03.14)
new elections are needed to clarify where israeli is headed. Bibi doesn'thave an ounce of guts in him and runs around spinning and sweating. Likud should get rid of him now. Herzog is a security imbecile, dumb in practical street smarts. Livni is bested by saeb erekat times and again, a lousy negotiater. Gal on, yechaimovtich, german are osloists and peres niks, delusional in the face of facts. There is no such thing as arab peace ever, kill thejews, blood, daggers and bombs, that is the arab story. lapid a journalist like the group of pacifists oren, verter, haber, oren, like themselves before the camera or reader but are like peres, wrong on almost eve4rything- demographics wrong, land for peace wrong. i leave yoiu with this and this is somehting to ponder till you reject herzog and livni- they say a piece of paper is better than no paper(chamberlain) and herzog who said at least abbas has a plan(hitler had a plan). This whole group of elite late drinkers and self absorbed stars is killing israel. Likud should find a way to boot bibi out right now as he is incapable of telling kerry to buzz off.
48. Forget what you know
Zusha ,   USA   (02.04.14)
The ONLY thing that will bring peace in Israel is better relations and equality between Ashkenazi and Sephardi, Charedim and Mizrachi, Chasidim and Chilonim. Forget the Palestinians. They are only a distraction.
49. Muhannad Abu Tair Jerusalem
LION OF JUDAH ,   JUDAH THE LION   (02.04.14)
Every war between Israel and the Arabs, Jews won the war against all odds in everything. You had much more tanks, fighter jets, one Israeli soldier to 1000 Arab soldiers. The only thing you have is your lovely songs anti Israel and Jews, and how you will conquered Israel and throw Jews to the sea, and your big mouth. As the late Moshe Dayan Z''L said Jews are QUALITY and you Arabs are cowards quantities.

51. To: No. 36
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.04.14)
Israel is merely asking Abbas to recognize the sovereignty of the State of Israel and its Jewish identity. Don't know why this should be so difficult. But if he doesn't, then the next crop of "Palestinians" to be born will be born in Jordan or Gaza. Abbas isn't the only one who can issue ultimatums. The difference being that Israel, having been victorious in six wars started by the Arabs, actually have the right to issue ultimatums. The "Palestinians" do not, any more than the Germans did following World War II. For you to suggest otherwise is prima facie testament to the fact that you are a complete idiot. Not to mention considerably overmatched on these threads.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.04.14)
Israel is not afraid of peace. Israel longs for peace. But that doesn't mean that we have put out the red carpet for those who wish to kill us, and those who have proven over the past seven decades that they are not in the least bit interested in peace. Look at Gaza. Israel withdrew, amid Arab promises of peace. Given what has ensued since, why would any sane human being believe the "Palestinians" now? So they now say, you will have peace if you give us East Jerusalem. Next time, they will say you will have peace if you give us West Jerusalem. And after that, it will be Jaffa, Haifa and Akko. Fortunately for the State of Israel and for the Jewish people, most of us are considerably smarter than you. No one in Israel is "afraid" of peace; in fact, we would welcome it. Now find us a "Palestinian" who intends to keep his promises. There is no better predictor of future behavior than past behavior. Past behavior -- that's a big stumbling block for the "Palestinians" to overcome, don't you agree? And since when did the State of Israel become anyone's crash test dummy? And how many Jewish deaths will be acceptable to you -- and those -- who believe anything the "Palestinians" say? My answer to that question is "zero." What's yours?
