bob frisby ,   tel aviv   (02.17.14)
I find it extremely hard to believe that fellow Israelis would sell arms to Iran. Everyone knows the Iranians want to kill us all. Why would Israelis help that happen? It doesn't make any sense.

blog2038 ,   USA   (02.17.14)
However, F-4 Phantom seriously? Even if successful, it's like peddling parts to fix Ford-T so it could compete in Indiana-500. Anyway, consider the good news - after all there years Iranians still weren't able to reverse-engineer F-4. Isn't that a petty.
19. would have had to have been illegal deals
zionist forever   (02.17.14)
I very much doubt that any Israeli government would have supported the selling of spare parts for fighter jets to Iran. its possible some companies sold parts illegally, not the first time in Israel or elsewhere arms companies have gone behind government back to sell the weapons. This does need to be investigated and heads must role be them political or private because this has potential to stop the US selling Israel advanced technologies in the future.
20. The enemy within
Mark Jeffery Koch ,   Cherry Hill, NJ USA   (02.18.14)
Instead of the hundreds of daily posts on Israeli media sites calling John Kerry and Barack Obama anti semites for wanting a two State solution to the Israel-Palestinian contact and enacting the most severe sanctions in history that brought Iran to the negotiating table Israeli's need to look at their true enemies......the arms dealers who are selling weapons to a Holocaust denying country and the far right wing settlers who are going to cause a worldwide boycott of Israel.
21. Big Deal
michael weizmann ,   safed, israel   (02.17.14)
Parts for F4 Phantoms??? If that is correct, it is side-splittingly funny. Stand by to hear that the company is also supplying Iran with parts for Douglas DC3s and Super Etendard Mirage fighters. And with balsa wood and rubberbands. What, one may ask, is the life expectancy (in seconds) of a Iranian Phantom F4 on meeting up with an F16 over the Jordan Valley? Or anywhere. Let's not sweat the small stuff.

25. F4 rts to Iran
Ex-Golani Samal Rish   (02.18.14)
Ther are times when the death sentence has merits..this kind of treason is such a case. Time to close all the legal loopholes and tighten up arms export controls. the state needs to control all arms exports .
26. split: Does Iran-contra deal ring a bell ?
jdc   (02.18.14)
It is corruption only if Israelis do it. And you are right, Israel has never developed anything. Other than satellites they launched, military gear too numerous to mention (alright, tanks, avionics...). Now Kfir and Lavi did not get much flight time, as the US made sure they are off the export market through US-taxpayer funded F-whatevers to the IDF. Free is an offer they could not refuse. Lockheed-Martin lobbying ? Can't imagine. Sweet deal for them, though. Drip irrigation worth mentioning ? Simple stuff but sure is popular in the dry countries. Does a week pass by without some US biggie not snapping up some Israeli start-up ? Those nimble Israelis, how fast can they steal all that stuff from hard working real people who deserve all the credit ?
27. THis is how Obama operates, like a school girl
mea   (02.18.14)
It is tit for tat. I highly doubt an Israeli firm is guilty of doing this. There is more to the story, and the story fits well with how the Obama administration handles diplomacy like a bitchy teenage girl. Part and parcel for Obama's inability to handle foreign relations. No Israeli company did this, it is baloney.
28. valid point, #21, yes indeed

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.18.14)
You're a real dupe. Obama is desperately trying to gain legitimacy for his adventurism with respect to the "Palestinians." The only place you will find spare parts for the hardware described is in an Israeli museum. The Phantom and Skyhawks are artifacts. You must really be stupid and gullible. Well, we knew that.
