arms dealers are scum..... If these spare parts were treated to a high level of metal fatigue..they are heros... The question is.. Will we ever know? Remember Irangate, anyone? Israel sold $2 millions worth of her surplus crapped out weapons to Iran..they were not happy bunnies
32. Oh, for heaven's sake!

Do you people really believe this pablum? This is nothing more than Obama trying to drum up anti-Israel sentiment because he realizes that his silly pipe dream of a "Palestinian" state will not be established while he is president of the United States. He's just trying to tighten the screws on Israel. Wow! You'd think an American president born in Nairobi, Kenya would not want to anger Israel too much .... Whatever will he do should Israel pull the rug out from under him?

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to check the time of development and tests of those jets compare their look to figure it out that Kfir and Lavi are a shameless copies of Mirrage and F16. Lavi never got of the ground because Lockheed slipped some treif blueprints to stolen ones and that was the end of US financing and of 'your' project called Lavi. What tanks? ,...

Given that the US has the economy 64x that of Israel, it is a miracle Israel produces any gear that can actually be comparable in any way to anything developed by the real powers.. I have trouble parsing your sentence on Lockheed. The deal was simple: Israel gets free planes, Lockheed gets rid of a competitor and gets a guaranteed buyer, US tax payer pays, Israeli plane designers lose jobs. You can look up how that process looks when Lockheed was selling its planes to Poland. Surely you know what gave the jump start to the US rocket program. As for tanks: you must know the Merkava tanks. And the Trophy system. You may have heard what country pioneered the design and use of drones. Now, I have missed your objections on US companies snapping up Israeli start-ups. And who did they steal the satellite designs from ? And the rocket to launch it ?

F-16, first test flight in 1974, in service in 1978 ,... Lavi, first test flight in 1986, 12 years later, never in service ,... Note the time required for tests from the first flight to approval for service. Compare their look ,... MERKAVA - Honeywell AGT1500C multi-fuel turbine engine, Transmission Renk RK 325 made by RENK Aktiengesellschaft, canon German Rheinmetall 120 mm tank gun, replaced by 'improved' version a carbon copy of the one of Abrams. Suspension in the past was U.S. made M-series replaced by Horstman of the British Centurion that's not a particularly good was but easy to repair/replace. Drones, started by US, abandoned until the real time communication capability, again a technology invented and developed in US. In regard to your Trophy system we had a good example how effective it is in Lebanon in 2006. Nothing to brag about.

Their never ending arrogance, displays of superiority and their attempts to degrade others.

In regard of your start-ups a myth, google "Israel, start up nation? not anymore, says Google study" - Study says main problem is low productivity rate compared with OECD countries. You have sell a few start ups (just like any other country) and made a mountain out of mole hill. In the last sentence in regard satellites and rocket launches you made a real idiot of yourself. For more google "Israel falling behind in space research, warns outgoing agency chief", your so called Israel Space Agency is occupying four-and-a-half-room apartment in residential building ,....

where do I begin ? Trophy was indeed useless in 2006, having been deployed in 2009. Retroactive missile defense has not been perfected yet. :) Space agencies are for science not satellite launches. Success of the sat program is not measured by floor area of the space agency. (I had no idea Israel even had one). Israeli intel sats, launched by Israeli rockets, are in orbit. That is astounding for a such a small country. First real-time recon drones have been developed by Israel, making such intel actionable. The list of Merkava contractors is there for all to see. Some are foreign, most domestic. M1 Abrams cannon is manufactured by the Germans, a common occurrence. Claims of "copy this and copy that" are endless and not credible. Germans have launched both the US and USSR rocket programs. Does that take away the credit from decades of accomplishment that followed ? Israel falling behind in something ? Does that mean they were ahead ? Outgoing agency chief complaining ? A long standing tradition. Look at all the whining about NASA. But I am being silly: nobody owes you, split., an explanation as to why they are here and what they bring.
