1. Kerry has changed absolutely nothing.
Sam ,   Canada   (02.20.14)
Palestinians want Kerry to give them a Palestinian state for nothing and then they want him to hand over Israel too. The US and EU appeasers will complain to Israel that it is not doing enough for peace notwithstanding the fact that they themselves are unable to achieve anything.
2. Negotiations with palestinians, waste of time. end
Jusanz77 ,   Vzla   (02.20.14)
3. Waste time!!
Jusanz77 ,   Vzla   (02.20.14)
Conversations with the yesterday arabics, today palestinians, looking for peace, waste time. Almost 100 years of history is the best prove.
4. Unfortunately Israel understands only the language of force
Yeoshua F. ,   N.Y   (02.20.14)
Israel has never given up ANY territory without being hammered first. It gave up the Sinai peninsula only after being hit by the Yom Kippur war in 1973. It began negotiating with the Palestinians in 1991 only after suffering the first Intifada. It gave up Southern Lebanon in 1999 only after Hizbollah started killing IDF soldiers by the dozens. And it gave up Gaza in 2005 only after 4 years of bloody second intifada and hundreds of deaths. These historical facts show a grim reality : Israel simply DOES NOT give up territory without a fight. Greed is stronger than reason. Like a stubborn greedy kid who won´t give up his toys and sweets unless he is slapped. Like the pharoah who needed 10 slams in order to finally be convinced to let the Hebrews go. Today´s Hebrews - the Palestinians - will eventually be let go, there´s no doubt about it. I just hope the process of convincing the Pharoah will be as peaceful as possible.
5. Israel would lose EVERYTHING in deal with "Palestinians".
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.20.14)
Israel would gain nothing in a deal with "Palestinians". Israel would lose Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, defensible borders, freedom from constant rocket attacks, viability as a state. In short, Israel would lose EVERYTHING.
6. The party's over
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.20.14)
They cannot have East Jerusalem. Sorry. Pack it in. Annex Judea and Samaria and repatriate its Arab squatters to Jordan. Revoke the citizenship of the Arabs in East Jerusalem and environs, and send their sorry asses packing, too. They wanted it all, and they will end up with exactly what they deserve: NOTHING.
7. Make Zionist position: No Mecca ownership, no deal
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (02.20.14)
8. "He who attacks must vanquish. He who defends must merely
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (02.20.14)
...survive"
9. I am beginning to like these Palestinians
Israeli 2   (02.20.14)
They are just as adamant to break these fake negotiations with scary Kerry as we do.
10. We Don't Need A Deal With The Terrorists
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (02.20.14)
We DO need OUR Jerusalem.
11. great news! no new arab state!
jenifer ,   jerusalem, Israel   (02.20.14)
great! now, just deport those non-grateful arabs!
12. Golly Gee Willikers!! Holly Macaroni!
Gideon Reader   (02.20.14)
What a schock and surprise. Who could have EVAH predicted this event?!? I for one (occassionally two) am flabergasted and saddened by this UN-EXPECTED turn of events. These NEW positions,...well...a possible setback in John EFFEN Kerry's Magic Hat and Hummus & Dynamite Nobel Tour. If this keeps up even the Zipperette will lose her taste for spectacular give aways. On secont thought,...NAH.
13. PA will not sign away their rights, land, property, nation
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (02.20.14)
14. The victor´s conditions.
Erez   (02.20.14)
History teach us victors always impose their conditions on the defeated. Having lost every one of their confrontations with Israel where the fakestinians obtain their strenght from to impose conditions on the victor? Answer the question and the entire conflict is solved. In the meantime as Abba Eban used to say: "“This is the first war in history which has ended with the victors suing for peace and the vanquished calling for unconditional surrender.”" Shame on you Israel if you want to give away, your land after all the blood and faith spilled by your people, to a non-people and a non-state buch of savages.
15. 5.
Birdi ,   Israel   (02.20.14)
Absolutely true, though, if it would happen, the EU & USA would gain applause from the world-wide Israel haters. Yay, it aint going to happen.
16. Three State Solution
Jonathan ,   Boston, MA   (02.20.14)
There should be three states: Israel, with its capital in West Jerusalem, Palestine, with its capital in East Jerusalem, and The Holy Land, with united Jerusalem as its capital. Citizens of Palestine and Israel would be able to get dual citizenship. This solves a few problems, because Palestinians wouldn't have to completely give up on their history in Israel and Israelis wouldn't have to give up on their history in Judea and Samaria. Jerusalem could be the united capital of The Holy Land, refugees could return to The Holy Land, and settlers who remained in Palestine could also be citizens of The Holy Land. Palestinians would recognize The Holy Land, a symbolic state, as the historic homeland of the Jews, without having to recognize Israel as such.
17. What is Israel if not a Jewish State?
Israel (ben Yaakov) ,   Sweden   (02.20.14)
A future Palestinian state must be established on which borders?!? Since 1949 there have been only a Armistice Line (Green Line)!
18. San Remo Accords
Barbara ,   Phoenix. USA   (02.20.14)
East Jersulem and the West Bank belong to Israel. It was legally given to them under the San Remo accords by the League of Nations. Why should they be forced to give away their land just because the Arabs font want them there!
19. Thanks to BDS
jorge ,   argentina   (02.20.14)
Palestinian negociators felt that BDS put israel in so weak position that forced it to reach peace at any price. The BDS encouraged them to harden their position, spoiling the chance to get a peace agreement.
20. To: No. 13
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.20.14)
They did that in 1947 by choosing to go to war. They lost. They lost five additional wars of aggression. Seems to me they're fresh out of opportunities. Oh well. Can't put toothpaste back into the tube.
21. How about the PA make pease with Hamas first?
JL ,   NY   (02.20.14)
How can Israel be expected to make peace with the animals in the West Bank when they can't even make peace with their own animals in Gaza?
22. #4 Rewriting History
Rube Vogel ,   Jerusalem   (02.20.14)
People with such disregard for the facts usually don't care to hear them. But, here are some fact anyway. Israel entered the Sinai Peninsula in 1956 after Egypt nationalized the Suez canal and closed it to Israeli ships as well as blockading the Gulf of Aqaba. Israel invaded, Egypt removed the blockade, and Israel WITHDREW. In 1967, Egypt renewed the blockade, built up a military presence in the UN demilitarized zone, sent the UN packing, and Israel again invaded and took over the Sinai to stop the blockade. They remained in a state of War. In 1973, Egypt again tried to retake the Golan and restore the Blockade. This ended in a cease-fire with Egypt promising not to renew the blockade. In 1979, Sadat offered to end the state of war and offered an unprecedented peace from an Arab country to Israel. For this peace, Israel withdrew once again from the Golan.
23. To: No. 16
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.20.14)
Uh, no thanks. Vanquished aggressors need to understand that they are defeated, not stroked on the head and mollycoddled.
24. 4Yeoshua . Is that your real name?
robert Pienica ,   antwerp belgium   (02.20.14)
you got it all wrong The first time Israel gave up the Sinai was after the 56 war and it was against a cease=fire because the Egyptians would not accept peace. In 79 they exchanged the Sinai against a peace treaty, not because of the 73 war. It began negotiating with the Palestinians after the OLP was expelled from Lebanon, thanks to Ariel Sharon and Tsahal, to Tunis. With no possibilty to wage war, Arafat agreed to negotiate. It gave up on southern Lebanon as soon as the unifil agreed to guard the border. It gave up on Gaza as a goodwill gesture to the palestinian authority which promptly lost control of the strip to Hamas. Why I ask about your name "Yeoshua"? Because it is the name of Jezus. So I guess you took it as an alias and you are probably catholic and you can't accept that God's chosen people, the Jews, inherit the land of their ancestors

Ask the Israeli Left why they demand we surrender to the Arabs and end Israel
26. Pack it all up
James ,   USA   (02.20.14)
What is taking so long. Is someone just trying to please Obama? Its time to walk out of these stupid negotiations. Negotiations have give and take. All I see is the take. Bibi, call the negotiaters home so they can do something real.
27. no. 13 - excellent post. Hejaz in Arabia is waiting for them
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (02.20.14)
28. #4 - yeoshua
yosef, phd ,   florida - israel   (02.20.14)
This article reeks of confusion, feeble-mindedness and plain Jew-baiting. But then: Antisemitism has been identified as a mental condition by psychiatrists, Jewish and gentile alike...
29. #14. No deal needed with vanquished "Palestinians".
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.20.14)
Israel needs to act like every other victorious nation in history and impose her conditions on her vanquished mortal "Palestinian" foes.
30. East Jerusalem
Ameridane ,   Aarhus, Denmark   (02.21.14)
If I am not mistaken, both Olmert and Barack ( not the US president) have both offered East Jerusalem and the Palestinians declined the offer- why would they accept the same offe now?.
