He has shot 3 guards but then barricaded himself in a cell which by now is probably locked with him inside & sourced by armed guards. If your going to steal a gun and shot the guards the smart thing is try escape not run into a cell. Now he will either be killed in a shoot out or given a longer sentence. In future guards should be armed with tazers, tear gas and batons and guns should be locked away unless they are needed because issuing them to guards as standard risk this sort of thing. I do hope though that all the guards who were shot make a quick recovery.

I remember the extradition law was changed because of him. At the time, I thought he should of been extradited. This nice Jewish boy committed first degree murder and then ran away to Israel. I thought then he should have been locked up in the prison in the states. Instead the Israeli taxpayer paid for his prison and now more innocent people are dead because of this man.

zionist forever   (02.23.14)
Its good that nobody was killed but there is alot Israeli prisons could do to increase security. Most logical is not let high security prisoners furlough. Prison guards should be issued with batons, tazers and tear gas. Guns should be on site but locked away With non lethal weapons a guard should be able to control a prisoner and if one of his weapons is stolen the prisoner won't be able to kill anybody. Prisons also need to install cellphone jamming technologies because we hear so many stories about terrorists in jails smuggling in cellphones. the guards don't need their cellphones when on duty.

Are you still alive Sol Sheinbaum? This travesty rests on YOUR SHOULDERS ALONE. Your kid did the crime, he should have paid his time, like every other FELON on the books. Time for Ha Eretz to institute The Death Penalty.

" "I do not want him to get out of all this without taking responsibility for what he did," said Sol Sheinbein, 54, a Maryland lawyer who is charged with obstructing an investigation by helping his son flee to Israel last year when police were seeking him." ' Copied from 1998 Washington Post article about his son's hideous crime.

17.  A strange case
ky   (02.23.14)
It is almost impossible to find out why he committed the original murder in the US. It seems the motive could be that the victim punched his friend but it is not clear at all. There has been a great deal of effort made to conceal the facts. They will no doubt come to light after this .

Israel wasn't unique: there is no civilized country in the world that would have extradited Sheinbein to the US because he faced the death penalty. There was the added (well-founded) fear that as a Jew he would not have been given a fair trial, but would have been murdered in jail. #10. about Sheinbein's father: Except for in Saudi Arabia and Iran, a lawyer's job is to serve his client's interest, not to feed the sense of "justice" of a baying mob. Any lawyer who saves his client from the death penalty deserves a medal. #3 Sheinbein murdered a drug dealer, not an innocent four year old. Israeli courts are a joke, not because of Sheinbein, but because they have released far worse murderers who served far less time.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.24.14)
Israel took in Sheinbein but refused to allow entry to Meyer Lansky, having quite forgotten who was responsible for having sent arms to the Yishuv in 1947.

Alfredo Tello was not a drug dealer. He was a 19 year old youth who though Sheinbein and Needle --- the other murderer, who had the decency to hang himself in shame after his arrest --- were his friends. Sheinbein and Needle stunned Tello with a Taser, then strangled him with a rope and cut his body into pieces, which they attempted to burn so that he could not be identified and given a decent burial. When they were unable to burn the body completely, they stuffed the charred remains in a trash can in the garage of an empty house. Sheinbein never faced the death penalty. He faced, at worst, life in prison. Some bigoted Jews --- such as the writed of #18 --- excused Sheinbein's crimes simply because he was a Jew, and facilitated his flight from justice simply because he was a Jew. He repaid them with his attempt to murder 3 Jewish prison officers. Do those bigots still congratulate themselves on their aid to Sheinbein?

So, instead of him coming to the 'uncivilized US' - where we have death penalty no 'civilized' nation will tolerate - now we have wounded guards and he's dead anyway. Not all US states have the death penalty. We don't know what his sentence would have been. However, it seems he was treated very well in Israel - for a murderer. He was allowed out on a furlough! Do you know he killed a fellow student at the Yeshiva they both attended? (He chopped up and burned the body parts of his victim.) How do you suppose the victims' family felt when he fled the US? I'd want someone like that locked up for life - certainly no furlough. He should have been tried in the US. Don't care if he's Jewish or not - he was an American Citizen on American soil and he murdered a fellow citizen.

puerto rican reader   (02.24.14)
reminds me of the famous case of Leopold & Loeb in Chicago at the beginning of the 20th Century. There too, two Jews thinking that they were able to apply Nietzche's SuperMan (Uber Mentsch) theory committed a heinous crime...they didn't get away with it. Thank G-d neither did the psycho-path Sheinbein. Praying for the healthy healing of the injured guards.

Back when he first came here I urged he be sent back somehow, despite the extradition law that was in effect at the time. And what happened? I was accused being a "Jewish antisemite" because I wanted him sent back to "goyish justice". My best wishes for speedy recoveries to all the wounded wardons.
