1. If peace talks require ethic cleansing of Jews
(02.24.14)
maybe the Germans shouldn't be pushing peace talks.
2. Hamas saying that Abbas has no mandate is not an obstacle?
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NYC   (02.24.14)
Hamas saying that Abbas has no mandate is not an obstacle? The daily attacks on Israel is not an obstacle?
3. It's OK for Germany to rob Austrian Jews
Elly ,   Vienna, Austria   (02.24.14)
It's OK for Germany to rob Austrian Jews who owned real estate in East Germany. The Germans are crooks.
4. False water claims
Robins ,   Jerusalem   (02.24.14)
The claims by Shulz about water were highly misleading. The amount of water made available to Palestinians and Israelis is equal. However, less reaches Palestinians homes because: 1) the Palestinians use a lot of it for agriculture whereas Israel uses recycled water. The Palestinians refuse to recycle. 2) A third of the water in the Palestinian system is lost through leakage, and they are not repairing the pipes. 3) The low level of the figure cited for Palestinian per capita consumption is exaggerated by using fake (too high) figures for their population size.

8. Walter Steinmeier playing to his audience at home
tiki ,   belgium   (02.24.14)
Coming to Israel and not criticizing the ''settlements? That's not PC & not done! Coming to Israel and criticizing Arab Palestinian terror, incitement, peace obstruction, illegal building? That's not PC & not done! These European politicians come to Israel riding on their high horses of morality while behaving like elephants in the porcelain shop........and not even care? That's PC & done! Europeans and especially Germans telling Jews how to behave? It's PC & done, but not accepted!
9. So do the Americans and the Canadians
Anshel ,   Canada   (02.25.14)
I bet that even the Germans consume more water in comparison to the water consumption by the Palestinian Arabs. So what's the big deal?
10. He complains...Israel not willing to commit suicide.

12. The Germans haven't changed!
Reuven   (02.25.14)
13. Germans don't dictate where Jews live
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (02.25.14)
I was opposed to Bennetts' walk out on the German president of the EU, as it happened 'after' he was invited to be a guest speaker at the Knesset. Converesly, I am totally opposed to encouraging this German FM to continue to spew his PC garbage in our Jewish Homeland. Your grandparents uprooted Jews from both their homes and their lives. Now you expect us to take you seriously while you dictate a policy that would uproot our granchildren from their homes and expose them to the narrowest straits to survive in? You represent the Foreign Office (FO) and I think its abbreviation best sums up what I wish to say to you!
14. The "settlements" issue is to be resolved during the talks
N.L.Katz ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (02.25.14)
leading to the Final Status Agreement. Since this is so, why does Germany need to interfere in the talks and to expect of Israel to act, prior to reaching an agreement with the PLO? Such a move represents dishonesty but also an act that can't be described but as racist, anti-Jewish racist at that, when Jews and only Jews are expected to limit their living space under the sun!!
15. Puh-leez
Hmm. ,   Chicago   (02.25.14)
It's one thing to call Germany an ally of Israel, but the idea of Germans giving advice to Israelis is a bridge too far.
16. steinmeier you are on right track
claus binoun ,   jerusalem   (02.25.14)
walter steinmeier you are on right track It is high time to talk tough with israeli government on settlements and peace process. Do not worry. The barking of government ministers is the bark of a dog who is afraid. But tough talk alone will not move the government. Some kind of sanction threat would be helpful.
17. no 14
claus binoun ,   jerusalem   (02.25.14)
correct is that settlement issue will be resolved during talks, but steinmeier talked about the "extensions" of settlements before talks .That is completely ok and we have to thank him for this. The money spent there is much needed in other areas in Israel.
18. no 12
claus binoun ,   jerusalem   (02.25.14)
very stupid remark reuven. it shows only your utter ignorance with respect to german israel relations.
19. No 18
Greg ,   London   (02.25.14)
Are you German?
20. # 14 Good point...
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!! ,   United States   (02.25.14)
What struck me in your post was 'the Final Status Agreement.' Reminiscent of 'the final solution.' All nations began with 'settlements'. I couldn't agree withy you more, Germany should be silent and remember E. and W. Germany were nothing to be proud of. Your right, Germany is acting dishonestly. KEEP BUILDING !!!!
21. #14 - N.L.Katz
Devorah   (02.25.14)
Merkel said she was coming to Israel in support of John Kerry's plan. She is a shill, and this goes far beyond Germany.
22. # 15 Thanks I agree fully.
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!! ,   United States   (02.25.14)
23. # 18 re: # 12 claus NO you are acting ignorantly.
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!! ,   United States   (02.25.14)
If Germany wanted to show respect, she chose one hell of a brutish way to bully Israel publicly, respect my ass. German politics re: Israel does underscore the fact that the Germans haven't changed. E. and W. Germany being the point in mind. And that was dividing their own German people not separating two enemies. By limiting Israels ability to grow this then becomes an automatic illegal and immoral 'birth control' method used to limit Israel's birth rate. Why has no one mentioned the illegal building of the pals? Why don't they 'demand all pal settlements activities come to a halt?' Why just Israel who possesses the land and the pals don't? Wake up little Susie, Germanys been caught with her pants down again, and she knows it, if she doesn't all the worse And for you... foolish post. KEEP BUILDING ISRAEL IT IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT!!!
24. #15
Joyce ,   Israel   (02.25.14)
"It's one thing to call Germany an ally of Israel, but the idea of Germans giving advice to Israelis is a bridge too far." Maybe the unnaceptable idea is related to Merkel phones conversations that apparently were tapped by NSA and CIA...go figure lol
25. #23 Without german crimes, israel would NOT exist now!
(02.25.14)
26. It is Germany's job to restore the Balfour.
