nancy ,   des plaines united s   (02.25.14)

4. taking care of our vulnerable people
Erin ,   USA   (02.25.14)
I wish I could be there to care for this man in the ways that he needs. I pray the perpetrator is brought to justice and I pray this man's family and neighbors surround him with love and gifts to ease his pain. We must do more to protect these vulnerable ones and care for them May Abba hear and provide for all these needs. May He be gracious unto you and keep you steadfast in His Arms, may He continue to be your Shield Israel
5. People must understand having a heavy metal screen door is
Rivkah   (02.25.14)
imperative as a protection for you when you open the door. Sliding bolts will help stop burglars who try to lock bump a key lock by putting in a key, hitting it with a rubber mallet, twisting, and hitting it again until it opens. There are devices to prevent lock bumping that can be put under the round bold device on the inside of the door and latched when someone is inside.
6. Are there any...
mish ,   TA   (02.25.14)
... Holocaust survivors who are not elderly?
7. Sorry Yitzak
Brendan ,   Naples, USA   (02.25.14)
They should give Yitzak 1000 NIS to compensate for the traumatic nature of the events that had occurred
8. South Tel Aviv = one big FAVELA, A SLUM
zalman ,   israel   (02.25.14)
south tel aviv is not just an area around central bus slum, but well beyond it. the longer the africans stay there, the harder will be to remove them, and whole tel aviv will gradually become an african slum-town.
9. To: Rivkah
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.25.14)
Why don't you just write a manual on breaking and entering? As usual, you have missed the point. No citizen in Israel is safe -- particularly the elderly -- with African wilde haya roaming our streets. But it takes a special kind of monster to deliberately target the very aged. Unfortunately, the despicable act of this "hungry homeless, yearning to breathe free" is the rule rather than the exception. Hundreds such attacks simply go unreported. I wonder what the United Nations has to say about that.
10. What a brave man
Gingi ,   Jerusalem   (02.25.14)
Am I the only one who thinks this man showed immense bravery by locking himself in the house with the robber, potentially risking his life, presumably so that justice can be served? Kol hakavod, he might be physically weaker but for myself I can say I would roll up into a ball and wait for the robber to get out, while this brave man fought him in the one way that he could!
11. To: Gingi at No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.25.14)
No, you are not the only one. This man is a Holocaust survivor. How do you frighten someone who survived the likes of Auschwitz and Buchenwald? You cannot.
12. Small amount of money
Ruth ,   USA   (02.26.14)
Why is this poor man getting only NIS 2,050 ($585) in monthly Social Security? Of all Israelis, surely Holocaust survivors should be given enough money to live well.
