1. Did Balts ask for it?
Miron ,   USA   (03.09.14)
This is as good time for Baltic states to leave NATO as they will ever get.
2. 3000 M1A2 Abrams Tanks
Mark of Lewiston ,   USA   (03.09.14)
The US has 3,000 brand new, surplus tanks, just sitting in the snow, rusting. Brand new, never been used, political pork - over the objection of the Pentagon. Congress bought them as a make-jobs program, not because they were needed. The US doesn't even have crews for them.
3. Permission?
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (03.09.14)
The US needed to ask Turkey for permission to enter the Black Sea? Will we need to ask Erdogan permission to leave, too? Or to go to the bathroom?
4. Putin, showing up Obama for amateur
Tarbouche ,   Aswan   (03.09.14)
Having messed up the legacy he was meant to guard as president, Obama is being showed up as an ineffective amateur leading a world into trouble. Come November, 9 months away, the administration could be sent packing and held accountable
5. While the US went into coma Evil woke up again!
tom ,   tel aviv   (03.09.14)
6. War
Joshua ,   Israel   (03.09.14)
If anyone thinks this is going to be a war of soldiers and tanks they are mistaken. This will be a war of weapons of mass destruction.
7. Putin, take Crimea business to Int.Court=VICTORY GUARANTEED!
zoro ,   israel   (03.09.14)
Obama is funny, very funny. He is trying to scare Putin, the MAN of Europe ??!!!!!!!??? OMG! There is no problem for PUTIN to prove super easily that CRIMEA was transferred illegally to Ukraine in 1954 by Russia. Especially when Ukraine wasn't even a country then. As a matter of fact, WHEN this ukraine was a "country" last time???? It never was. It was always part of Russian Empire, part of Lithuanian Kingdom in 14-15th century, part of Poland... By taking the matter to the Intern. Court of Justice, Russia will show Obama WHO is in Control in Europe, Asia, and Middle East. And Israel shouldn't be on the fence. The obvious side to take is Russian side. Israel's 60% of population is RUSSIAN speaking, or Russian roots. The connection with RUSSIA is clear and must not be ignored. Absolute most Jewish Population of North America is also Russian rooted. It doesn't matter if origins were in Ukraine, because 99% of Jews were Russian speaking and Russian educated. And not to forget what Ukrainians did on June 23, 1941 when german army entered Kiev - thousands of people greeted them flowers, smiles and kisses, as liberators. Many units in german army were strictly ukrainians. Most guards in concentration camps were ukrainians...etc. ...and the pogroms of 18-19th century that took lives of thousands Jews...
8. Putin is not worried about planes in the Baltics.
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (03.09.14)
All Putin has to do is pass a law in Russia making the US dollar an illegal currency and it‘s game over in the West. If Russia starts selling their US dollars, many other countries will rush to get rid of their dollars as well. This will create massive inflation in the US, and that mighty dollar will sink like a stone.
9. 18 planes doesn't sound like very much
tom ,   toronto, canada   (03.09.14)
because it isn't.
10. #8, your idol Obama downsized military to fund failing ACA
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (03.09.14)
Do you still maintain the hoax that you save under Obama and get the same healthcare?
11. It was meant for #2
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (03.09.14)
12. @ 3 Turkish Control
Jack London ,   London, UK   (03.10.14)
Hi, yes, all nations must get Turkish permission thave warships enter or leave the Black Sea. This is enshrined in several treaties, and the precident goes back at least as far as the 1930s. Turkey controls both sides of the straights into the Black Sea from the Med, and their missiles, gun batteries would easily sink any warships who they did not want to allow through. This was useful to NATO during the Cold War, as it denied the USSR free access to the seas.
