What a bunch of shlemiels. I am sorry, i know they are virtualy criticism free for being Holocaust survivors, but don't forget we had misguided deluded senile Holocasut victims on the Gaza flotillas as well. They mean well, but they are misguided. The Africans need to be sent packing back to Africa PRONTO.
4. asylum seekers
joey low ,   new york, usa   (03.17.14)
holocaust survivors understand better then anyone, the pain and harsh realities faced by refugees. listen to them. they are the heart of the country. sadly the ministry of interior does not have the same compassion. he would do well to pay some attention to what the survivors have done during purim. . where is our sense of humanity and understanding. we too were once strangers in a foreign land. joey low
5. Absolutely ZERO similarity. They do not face genocide.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (03.17.14)
6. They should invite them to live in their homes
Scott ,   Ramat Gan   (03.17.14)
These people are hypocrites. They pretend to care, but they wouldn't want them living in their neighborhood & certainly wouldn't invite them into their homes. The Africans here are not refugees, except for a few. They came here for money.
7. They are angels although perhaps misguided
BUILD BABY BUILD   (03.17.14)
The holocaust victims have big hearts. Too bad they have small wallets. To them, all they see is the suffering while others see them as an inconvenience. I can't get angry with their compassion but, then too, I don't live in Israel. Bless them, they've been through a hell we'll never know. KEEP BUILDING !!!!
8. So called refugees
Ron ,   oc us   (03.17.14)
The charity of the yolocost survivors is horribly misplaced. The charity should go to the tormented Jews of south Tel Aviv. The illegals need to settle in any number of African/Moslem countries.
9. #6 your point is right on target..

Some people love pretending they want to save the world till such time that it causes them some discomfort.

a mile in his shoes." Only the survivors who have been refugees themselves and lived through the horrors of the life can judge. I admire them and respect them. My sincere congratulations to all that have shown what it is to be human.
11. #5 Do you know anything about Jewish history?
Jarvis ,   Joseph, USA   (03.17.14)
The Shoah ended in 1945 with the end of the war. At that point the Jews didn't have go anywhere and many stayed in Europe as they were no longer facing genocide. The Shoah survivors mentioned in this article said "they were refugees too"who are you to say otherwise. Refugee: a person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster.
12. All you haters who are you to judge!
Jarvis ,   Joseph, USA   (03.17.14)
How do you judge someone else's right to mitzvot?! I pray the Lord saves these people twice.
13. Delusional fools...
Al   (03.17.14)
These gate crashers will be from row and centre in visiting violence upon these elderly holocaust survivors. When you are kind to the cruel you end up being cruel to the kind.
14. They are angels
Truthseeker ,   USA   (03.17.14)
These elderly Holocaust survivors know all too well what the life of a refugee is. Sadly so many in Israel see the dark skins and the fact that the refugees are not Jewish as an affront to the Jewish nation, a nation that was supposed to be built on compassion but obviously has lost any sense of compassion when it comes to "the other" arriving on their cherished land. There is a special place in Heaven for these elderly people who are doing a mitzvah.

18. I just love this article for so many reasons-
Erin ,   USA   (03.18.14)
Could you write more interviews with Holocaust survivors? Their insight and experience with being followed sround by police everywhere, always living in fear of being arrested and dragged off somewhere for simply just bring different would be of great solace to those of us who were followed around by drones, heliocopters, armed guns, and anti-semitic stares/vibes in these last few years-to hear how they survived it cheers me up, and also it reminds me that I am not the only one who has suffered these unnecessary abuses anc that there is peace and hugs and flowers after all this gets through. I'm not the only one in this country to suffer-people from every religion suffer here from excessive oppression and stalking by government officials. The lesson I havd learned is that Nazism can occur anywhere and that even though their regime is dead and long gone there is still something in our hearts that makes us suffer this ailment, this hatred of mankind, my request is that when I am depressed about how people treat others, I can look to a section here at Ynetnews.com and see how others endured. See how they are still loving others and that they endured even when it seemed like it would not stop. That is my request to you. Please publish their insights, their stories, their encouragement-I'm not the only one who needs it, I believe many more need to be reminded that it's okay to be human in the face of pain and humiliation. Thank you:)
19. # 14 We agree
BUILD BABY BUILD   (03.18.14)
No, Israel hasn't lost compassion, she's lost patience for the flooding of so many new unemployable immigrants who can't speak the language, know nothing of Israel's customs, and resort to crime to survive. I'm glad many Africans are returning home, we all want to live in peace. G-d bless the Holocaust angels. The Africans receiving their help will never forget their kindnesses and mercy. We shouldn't either. That's the Jewish way.... A true blessing. KEEP BUILDING !!!!
20. "Delusional fools"?
Ren ,   Australia   (03.19.14)
Al, You're spot on. These innocent families seeking refuge from war and poverty will most certainly turn on the citizens of their host country, in the exact same way as these Holocaust survivors did when they sought refuge. It's a well known fact that elderly Jews who were put through all manner of torture during the Holocaust not only began new lives as law-abiding, contributing members of society, but also turned into violent thugs who regularly mugged people in laneways. Look it up in the history books! If you can't find it there, it's because IT NEVER HAPPENED. Jeez. You sound like a really kind-hearted and compassionate person.
21. 'Zero' similarity?
Ren ,   Australia   (03.19.14)
You know very little. The view that refugees from Africa do not face genocide would be laughable if it weren't so ignorant. Are you at all aware, for example, of what is now happening in the Central Republic of Africa? Is it necessary for mass killing to be classed as 'genocide' before it's deemed acceptably abject? Even without the term 'genocide' can you honestly see no similarity between two groups of people both seeking refuge from the possibility (in many cases inevitability) of death, rape, torture? I really appreciate constructive discussion but your comment contributed nothing but a stubborn refusal of empathy.
