Well, terrorists tend to hide among civilians. Your president would be at the ramparts of the howling hordes demanding Israeli blood should Israel do what it takes to erase the terrorist threat. The United States and NATO were able to bomb Afghanistan and Iraq into the Stone Age, killing millions of civilians in the process. No one raised a voice in protest. Israel does not enjoy a similar luxury. That said -- the border between the United States and Mexico is a haven for gun-running and drug and human trafficking. What's the United States doing about it? I'll bet you didn't know that the United States has built at least six detention centers along its border with Mexico, where smugglers, gun runners, drug traffickers and illegals are held without trial. Nary a voice raised in protest. But when Israel builds a detention center to hold illegal Africans, the world is up in arms. Trust me -- if Israel could act with the same impunity as other countries do, there would be no African infiltrators and very definitely no terrorist activity along our borders. Israel's hands are tied. The United States' hands are not. But you did leave quite a mess behind in Iraq, a worse one in Afghanistan, where the Taliban is now the dominant force, and you can't seem to police your border with Mexico. So perhaps Israel is doing a lot better than you seem to realize, given the constraints. The United States, with no constraints, is not doing at all well. You may want to rethink your thesis. Your dog doesn't hunt.

Regarding Syria there are no good options for Israel. But since 1973 it is proven that Assad in power is the best bad option for Israel. He is killing his own people, he is a strong ally and supporter of Hezbollah but he's secular, not an islamist and the Golan has been quite for more than 40 years. Israel should have destroyed Hezbollah in 2006 but today weaking Assad would make things much worse.

Yemen, Turkey, Iran, Egypt, Libya are already destabilized on their own. What is left for Israel to destabilize in Middle East?

Attempts by Israel to defend its borders could destabilize the entire Middle East? The Syrians should be listed in the dictionary as the definition for hubris. The Syrian dictator has murdered more than 110,000 of his own people, reduced his cities to rubble and caused millions of his own people to become refugees in Turkey, Lebanon, and Jordan, overtaxing those governments trying to care for the tremendous influx of men, women, and children fleeing Assad's barbarism, and this evil man accuses another country of trying to destabilize the Middle East? Let him meet the same fate as Ghadaffi and the former communist leader of Romania where their own people found them and ended their dictatorships and murderous reigns.

Assad has always got Hezbollah to fight his battles in the past because the Syrian army is no match for the IDF and he knows it. Right now he needs the full strength of the army and all the firepower at their disposal to take on the rebels who are trying to overthrow him, he cannot afford a war with Israel over a couple of airstrikes. With their best fighters getting themselves killed in Syria and making themselves enemies in Lebanon because they are sending people to fight in Syria right now Hezbollah are in no fit shape to go to war with Israel. The only enemy Israel has to seriously worry about right now is Iran because it would just be an exchange of missiles and with its tiny size Israel is an easy target. Obama should also worry about Iran because their space program is just a cover for ICBM development and once Iran has nukes and ICBMS then they will be able to land a nuke on the White House.
